Food was very nice. Breakfast, which was included was very tasty and a good choice. Chose to take our evening meal meal in the restaurant and this was also very good. My daughter loved the fact that the TV was a smart TV, which meant she was not limited with what she could watch. She enjoyed being able to watch Netflix before bed.

TV would have been better on the wall. With it being on the dresser, the kettle was in the way and it was all very cramped. Also, there was a musty smell in the bathroom.

Room was adequate for our needs , 1 night stop over for a golf tournament. Restaurant & Bar very nice , food & drinks menu had a good selection possibly a little overpriced. Breakfast was included and good selection. Staff very friendly on arrival , in the bar and restaurant at breakfast and on checking ou

Stayed in Room 3 , in a room no more than 15 / 15 not sure why there is a green neon fire exit light above the door , lit up the whole room on turning off other lights to sleep , really annoying.

Lovely location. Good country walks straight from the pub. Attractive pub. Excellent breakfast included in the price.

Our room was located over the outside eating area so it was very noisy during the evening. As it was hot weather we needed to have the window open. However, it was quiet by the time we wanted to sleep.

The room was just as you would expect really, fairly basic but clean. As others have stated, the tv is small, but who goes away to watch tv? Beds were comfy and had a good nights sleep in a quiet location. Richard is a friendly, welcoming host and serves a good pint! The full English breakfast was superb and the breakfast chef was very attentive to our needs. We considered our stay very good value and would definitely recommend.

Maybe could have been a bit more information given to us on arrival.

Very dog friendly pub - we had two small dogs with us and the large double room had plenty of room for us. The room was quirky but it was as expected for English pub accomodation. On the weekend cooked breakfast from a great selection was included in room price. My husband had the full english breakfast and I had the Eggs Royale (incl. smoked salmon) and they were both delicious. Staff were very friendly and did their outmost to ensure we had everything we needed Quietly located pub with great public footpaths on the doorstep.

It's a pub which unfortunately for us meant that it was noisy in the evenings due to rooms being right above the pub and there was a private event on at pub on Saturday night so very loud music. That said, music was stopped promptly at 11 p.m.

Beautiful old building, family room is more of a suite - bathroom then corridor, then two separate bedrooms - it was lovely. unfortunately both doors’ headroom is very low !! The double room was very spacious with a quirky ensuite. The breakfast included was excellent - nothing too much trouble for chef 👍

The double room was at the front of the pub, it was hard to sleep through the noise which naturally occurs in a pub. also, it was a bit unusual to find the storage spaces were occupied by supplies!

Very friendly staff and environment and comfortable. Excellent cooked breakfast options included in rate and a very good 2 course evening menu at a very reasonable price. Bar seating around open fire. Village Green vista from room. Good car parking but need SatNav to find way off main roads.

We both have walking difficulties and found the stairs a bit difficult with handrail on only one side. Also found room temperature difficult to control.

Pub was busy and had a quiz on the night we stayed (Wednesday) which, whilst we weren't in the quiz, we enjoyed trying to get some of the answers. Room was good and breakfast was just what we wanted. Room had good variety of 'self service' tea, coffee and hot chocolate plus some biscuits which was nice.

Room was fine but carpet between room and en-suite was raised so made closing the door 'hard work'. Other than that all good.

Great little place, arrived on the Monday at 6 pm (bank holiday) didn’t realise or told that they stopped serving food at 4pm, not a big thing, visited local supermarket 20 mins away. Great service from staff across the two days, food was ok, not ground breaking, I believe a chef stand in was due to this, certainly busy with friendly locals, maybe a little more attention to cleanliness in all areas as in Cobwebs around windows corners, bathroom room 1 lol x but it bothers some people, would I stay again? Definitely if back in the area 👍

Attention to detail on cleanliness.

Beautiful traditional pub in quintessential English village. Staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Curtains were very light in colour and let the sun in very early in the morning, could do with darker curtains or thicker material. The bathroom door was missing a handle. The shower had hair in the plug hole so that obviously wasnt cleaned properly before we arrived. I booked a room that included breakfast so we assumed that what we ordered in the morning was within the price I had paid, but the staff did not explain that the cooked breakfast wasnt included in that, nor was the orange juice or tea and coffee so we were hit with an extra ~£30 bill on checkout I really wasnt expecting. A tiny box of cereal and a yoghurt in our rooms was apparently what was included. That was a shame as it put a dampener on an otherwise very pleasant stay.
