Our stay was made by the wonderful Manager, Yin, who could not do enough for us despite clearly being rushed off her feet. She communicated with us beforehand after we requested an early check in, and on arrival moved things around to facilitate early cleaning of a room so we could freshen up before heading out. She was interested in us and our plans for the day as well as trying to help us with our travel, and was just a wonderfully warm host and all round lovely person! Thank you Yin and team.

The room was fairly basic with a low sloping ceiling in places, but comfortable enough and with all the amenities required.

We liked the hospitality , the staff ,food room .

When we arrived we were put upstairs , we are both disabled so , and 80 years old , so asked for a downstairs room , which was given . Nobody said we woul have to pay extra for this , and was shocked when told as leaving we had to pay a £19 extra . This is not on your booking and I will be warning people on trip advisor , you have to pay £19 extra for a downstairs room It was really a upset to what was a lovely break

Lovely pub, staff were friendly. Food was of a good standard. Room was a decent size and was nice and clean. Everything was nicely set out from car park, to pub to the room. Can't comment on breakfast as I was on the road before it started.

For someone that is 6"1, my room was upstairs and in numerous places the roof was very low for me to move about in. And although I have lost a bit of weight, the shower cubicle was amongst the smallest I have washed in. My room was quite cold when I got in, so I had to use the electric heater to get the room bearable.

Breakfast and menu and cooking in the evening were fantastic. A delight to eat an English menu again. The chef is top class. Room was very nice and very warm,if one wants, which is a very rare exception in all hotels these days because of ridiculously high energy costs which are totally unnecessary.

There is some noise from the occupants above but they were not too bad.

The room was huge as was the bed! Really comfy although slight on the tired side. The staff were so lovely and really helpful! We arrive before we could check in (as was going to a wedding) and knew we would be back at the hotel after check in would be closed, but they were able to accommodate us and gave us the key to the room so we could get jn when we got back. The pub was nice and breakfast was really tasty, wish we're able to have dinner there.

Really minor but the bathroom could be done with an update but it was all clean.

All the staff were very friendly & helpful. The breakfasts were very good with a good selection. Always plenty of hot water.

The taps on the hand basin were too small for the basin. Although the ensuite could have done with a refurbish, it was adequate for a couple of nights. Creaking floor boards above our room but to be expected in an old place.

The staff were all extremely helpful and friendly frim start to finish. The room was very clean and cosy, and the food was delicious. Personal touches and service at breakfast were really appreciated.

I would have liked to be able to open the bathroom window further to appreciate the lovely view of the countryside. But I understand that was a safety requirement.

The welcoming atmosphere and standard of room cleanliness was very reassuring. The staff were friendly and efficient and did everything to make us feel relaxed and comfortable. Dinner was fresh and delicious and breakfast was exceptional.

Problem logging on to "The Cloud " WiFi which required my password which was said to be incorrect ? Most hotels use their own location which might have simplified connection

The menus and choice of meals/snacks. The smart, very clean and new decor. The calm and quietness right through. A very pleasant pub garden to sit in, and the accommodation being separate and very quiet.

Liked it all and the only addition would be a room fridge as a cupboard for one, but do realise why not there or guests wouldn’t use the bar as much!!! Having said that it was nice to have people around in the evenings as travel alone!

The thing that makes this place is the staff. Every single member of staff from welcome to checkout was so friendly and helpful. Good value comfortable lodging in Buckinghamshire. Handy for local attractions, Heathrow, Harry Potter Studios etc. Nice pub with good menu and food. Beds comfortable.
