The location of the Inn and the friendly staff. So kind of Rob for helping us with phone calls and letting my relatives use his phone to contact me. I had Cell phone issues. The Inn had a local feel to it and provided walkable and enjoyable outings. Especially the Memorial Gardens across the street. The breakfasts were large and we enjoyed the traditional English fry up! There are also some nice restaurants near by within walking distance. The courtyard is cute and it was nice to sit out there for a bit when the weather was good.
Our bathroom needed some work. The shower door and one tile needs repair. The bathroom could use a coat of paint. We let the staff know. It did not cause a problem with our showers or with our stay.

Located in Amersham's Old Town, the Saracens Inn exudes old-world charm, with its rustic decor and exposed beams creating an inviting ambiance into the pub. Our room boasted a large and incredibly comfortable four-poster bed. The staff were helpful and friendly, explaining us the quirks of the vintage toilet mechanism (no, it's not broken!) Additionally, full English breakfast prepared by the staff was a delicious treat, setting us up for the day ahead. Excellent location to visit old Amersham and hike in the Chilterns.
While a bit of dust is to be expected and not an issue in an old pub setting, the night time noise from the road was disruptive due to poor soundproofing. Also, an unpleasant odor emanating from the aging bathroom was unpleasant. Despite these drawbacks, the Saracens Inn's charming character and convenient location, combined with its relatively affordable pricing, made our stay enjoyable for a single night. The pub itself is great, but for dinner there are likely better options in town.

Firstly, the location is great. Right in the centre of the old town. Full of beautiful, old, charming buildings. The Saracens Head Inn is a wonderful, traditionally British pub, complete with low beam ceilings and classic British pub bar, stools, chairs. We haven't been back to the UK for more than 5 years and we absolutely loved staying in an old Inn, reminiscent of growing up in rural Gloucestershire. The actual pub area brought back memories of working in a pub a few decades ago, cleaning the brass, washing glasses, clearing the beer drip trays. Love that smell. Full of friendly locals having a pint and chatting about their day with staff who were engaging and happy. The room we were in was very spacious, lots of space for a good size double bed, a couple of comfy chairs, full length mirror, place to hand your towel, wardrobe. Coffee machine as well as a kettle. Good size teacups, plenty of supplies and absolutely delicious biscuits. Everything thoughtfully put together.Good size showerroom with full body size towels and complimentary toiletries. We were very late to breakfast, and realised we've probably missed it. However, the chef made us a delicious bacon and sausage sandwich and plenty of tea, coffee and orange juice. Very grateful he still made sure we had a good breakfast. I forgot to ask his name, but he was very friendly, helpful and clearly a hard worker.
We had booked for 2 nights, but our plans changed last minute, so we only stayed for 1 night. But an enjoyable 1 night in a lovely little British pub Inn.

Comfortable, friendly.Nice breakfast( Great sausage) comfortable room.Ensuite ,Clean towels ,Shampoo/ wash products etc. Tea / coffee making facilities / biccies!Room was away from pub in courtyard, Quiet. Probably more noisy in summer, but no issue for us. Well stocked bar,Staff were friendly and helpful.Meals available, although a 'locals' bar it was really friendly.Just situated off high street, short walk. John was up serving us for Breakfast.on .his own I think? But still.managed to get it all out.Friendly chap when talking to him.Quite approachable. Absolutely stay there again.Self and wife happy..No grumbles at all.😊👍
Could be difficult finding parking( on road) in high season.Managed to park but was 150 yards or so away.No issue for us? But worthy to consider. Double yellows other side of road.I understand there are car parks in thr area? Butvif looking for on site parking, there isn't any.

A lovely and quaint Inn. The pub was small and cosy, great choice of lagers on tap! Bed was comfortable and the place had a lot of history to it. Our room was on a slant due to how hold the infrastructure of the building is, which I thought was amusing and added a lot of character! Breakfast was also great and staff were friendly and welcoming.
Nothing. Unfortunately no parking directly outside which could be difficult for some guests but it was fine for us!

The accommodation is above possibly the best pub I've been in. Welcoming, well priced food, descent beer, great atmosphere. Just great. The room was clean & tidy. The bed was comfy. The place is a bit quirky so don't expect a standard boring hotel chain. It's full of character, as you might expect in a 500 year old pub. The town/village is delightful too. Well worth a stroll around. There is no car parking onsite but if you ask it is available with a two minute walk
Struggling to think of downsides. A tap was stuck but that's about it.

Nice old fashioned pub serving real ales with parking on main road outside. Breakfast available from 7am so good for contractors needing an early start. No Food Monday evenings but a good Indian Restaurant virtually directly opposite. Underground station 0.7miles away with cheap car parking available in multi-story.
Pub due a refurbishment soon so rooms will be modenised.

Breakfast was a little bit more limited than other places we stayed at, no white toast on 3 of the 4 nights and no mushrooms or hash browns, however the breakfast was very good and st up up nicely for the day
My wife is a vegetarian, we found the vegetarian options limited, but good choice for the meat eaters, we found a similar situation in many of the nearby restaurants Other than that the place was great

Really friendly welcome, great staff, good food and beer in the pub. Large and clean room. Rooms around the courtyard of the pub, so expect a lively atmosphere. I did not mind this at all but if you like to go to bed early and have silence, this might not be the right choice for you. After closing, very peaceful night. Fabulous location. You could stay here and not need to leave the building!
Room could do with a refresh in terms of paint - a little bit tired, but clean. Parking not possible right outside but not difficult to find either.

Great location in Old Amersham close to cafes, restaurants and great shopping. The old style, 16th to 17th century, beams etc Very good water pressure for the shower. Fantastic cooked breakfast and good dinner menu and friendly staff to boot.
The only small negative was that the rooms were a little musty. But this is an old property, it was winter and damp so we didn’t let it be a problem.
