Lovely decor and unique hot air balloon theme. Friendly warm and welcoming staff. Small but well designed garden. Close to a beautiful park. Amazing full English breakfast included in price with vegetarian and vegan options. Lots of useful information and flexible approach eg allowed to order in food if wanted . Lots of walks within a short drive eg grand union canal, Ivinghoe Beacon plus Tring Natural History Museum

The electric shower was warm but I would have liked a little more power.

Lovely place, lovely people, was looked after well, and had a comfortable stay. Welcoming check in, and DELICIOUS breakfast. Also - delightful cooky lounge decor, overlooking gorgeous garden. Really uplifting!

OK, so - in my room I kept on hearing a loud and constant click, click, click all night - like the pipes were warming up or cooling down. I checked the rad in the bathroom it was fine. And finally at 2am(!!!!!) I decided I couldn't take it any more - so I tracked down the culprit - an electric space heater under the desk, and unplugged it! Finally I could sleep - but it meant I only got 5 hours, which was disappointing. They were super apologetic when I told them, and said they thought they had fixed it.

We loved the garden, it was really lovely to walk around and just relax and chill in, plus the fact the village pubs were so close. The pub had lovely food and had alot of room inside and out. Also the garden had a covered area so you could still go out if it was raining and get fresh air. The hotel itself had some old charm, and felt homely. The room was lovely and just the right size. Plus breakfast was lovely, owners really helpful and nothing was to much for them to help with.

Everything was great.

Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and was delicious and very quick. Bedroom was spacious with a very comfortable bed. The whole lodge was very nicely decorated. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. We received text messages from them asking for an estimated check-in times and what time we would like breakfast on the second day of our stay. We walked to a lovely local pub for dinner on the first evening, and had a very short drive to Tring for dinner on the second night. We were able to park outside the hotel for free.

The shower was a bit feeble - but hot.

Breakfast was excellent. Freshly cooked and all of good quality. Everything was well set out. Nothing was too much trouble. The location of the hotel was perfect. No noise from the road. Our room, we think, was in a converted stable or barn, there being stable type doors. Lovely garden courtyard. Hosts were marvellous and friendly.

There was nothing that we really didn't like. However, the roadsign for the hotel was a little covered by trees/bushes.

On arrival the room was clean, airy and cool on a summers day - the opposite of a premier inn of the same cost where its often stuffy, clean but slightly smelling of urine :) Julie and Mike were bright, cheerful and welcoming - gave an orientation straight away and responded to any of the doorbells dotted around the property! We stayed with them for a local (though European) tennis tournament which was literally 6 minutes away and with early starts we had little time for breakfast - mike immediately offered to make breakfast sandwiches to take with us each day. The stay was comfortable and felt relaxing and just so easy! A delight

Parking was at times hard but this is really scratching around for something bad - nothing bothered or upset us.

Enjoyed our stay. Lovely small hotel and garden . Pretty bedroom overlooking the garden..Very comfy beds. Welcoming and helpful people and fab breakfast. Two excellent pubs in walking distance. Would come again and will recommend.

The TV was very tiny. Slight drain smell in the bathroom and the shower button wasn't great but the shower was hot. Nothing that would stop us returning if in the area again.

Everything was totally as expected. Perhaps a little dated if I'm being totally honest but that doesn't detract from a very well run establishment, Thankfully as no Ubers available I could walk to Weston Turville. Accommodated me when early parking required and even allowed me access to my room. Squeezed in a friend of mine for breakfast.

Funnily enough I couldn't open my door to Room 7 when I got back purely because it was a bit sticky when i thought it was still locked. Probably just me though.

The hotel is in a very pretty, historically interesting and countrified location. There is much information embellishing on this within the hotel, on its walls and amongst its leaflets and reading matter. The room was small and cosy, but had everything that one needed within it. The garden with its seasonal colours, pond and overhanging mature trees was very pleasant. There was an excellent choice of all sorts for breakfast.

Sadly this was used as a roof over my head for the night, so didn't have much time to appreciate all that was on offer. There was an excellent information booklet put together, which proved imperative when trying to understand the shower and operate the television.

The stay was very comfortable. I had to book a night at West Lodge Hotel after an especially tiring day that left me so exhausted, I didn't feel I could drive all the way home. The staff were very kind and understanding of my need to be up very early in the morning and made sure there were a number of breakfast options available, even though it was so early. The room was very clean, tidy, had great facilities and I was able to get some excellent quality sleep. I am very grateful to the staff there for making sure I had everything I needed. Thank you ever so much!

There was nothing I disliked. It wasn't immediately obvious where I was meant to park my car, but after one conversation with the staff at the hotel, that was quickly resolved, and I had no further trouble.
