Lovely friendly staff, specially waiting staff at restaurant they are doing an incredible job. Friendly, quick, the chef even found us having trouble with our key when he was in the way to the kitchen and helped us I could only praise them. Food is good they keep it simple all you need in the menu from vegan choices to tradicional cuts like the lamb that my children really enjoyed.

There was a great expectation with the spa, first night tried to check but they say people already gone. This at 6pm. Next day there was not internet service then I could not check as instructed treatments and prices on the tv. Next day I went to see someone face to face very unfriendly they also send me back to check the prices and treatments on the telly on the room which still not updated and without mentioning any treatment at all said everything was fully book the day and the day after so it was like a clear (we dont have anything for you). The hotel website shows Ponys, archery and activities that in reality are not readily available for everyone.

The room was nice and so is the general atmosphere of the hotel.

The drainage system makes a lot of noise which even woke me up at night when the neighbours were using the bathroom. The worse part was that at 3am we were woken up with a fire alarm, the staff on night duty have no clue how to deal with a crisis like this, they just stayed at reception waiting for the fireman. When questioned if they knew where was the problem they just said yes and apparenly they even knew it was false alarm but still let the alarm blaze like crazy for almost an hour, while doing nothing for the clients. Totally unprofessional.

It was a good room, both me friend and I were very impressed. The facilities were fantastic also. I am a vegan, and before our stay, I messaged the hotel to ask if they'd vegan food for me breakfast, and they told me they did. When we went to breakfast, I wasn't disappointed. The staff were good to both of us. Will definitely come again.

Well, as stated before, I am a vegan and was more than satisfied with the vegan options they have there. The only minor complaint I have about that is that, in the buffet it would have been better if the foods suitable for vegans were labelled, because I had to do a lot of asking as to what was vegan and what was not. Although I'm happy that I could ask for vegan sausages and they were prepared to order and brought to the table.

The hotels historic building added to an amazingly relaxed atmosphere. The staff were helpful and attentive. The rooms are decorated to a high standard and are very comfortable. The bathroom fittings were gleaming and the towels had a luxury feel. The beds are large and sumptuously comfortable. There was a good selection of teas and a coffee machine. The food in the restaurant was expertly prepared and presented and the breakfast selection was comprehensive. One of our group required gluten fee options and she was catered for perfectly with understanding and excellent choice. The hotel grounds are well-maintained and there isn’t any traffic noise due to being some distance from roads. The numerous peacocks 🦚 roaming freely give an exotic feel.

Nothing to add

Very accommodating and friendly staff . Our 5 yr old daughter had a very special time with meeting the family of peacocks that reside and roam freely at Pendley . A very friendly manager who took on board my comments about needs for out 5 year old daughter and enabled her to feed the peacocks thus really giving her a positive experience . We were also celebrating our anniversary and were treated with some very special touches ftom Pendley starting with a signed handwritten card from many of the staff , lovely chocolates on arrival , a glass of bubbly on the house and a Zoe oak unexpected treat at dessert . We greatly valued our experience.

The restrictions of pool times for children .

This was a brief flying visit to see our local family, we did not eat at the hotel during our stay. The large attic room was gorgeous, more of a suite, and though lacking a view of the attractive grounds was well designed and furnished. The bathroom was superb. It was a very hot day but the air conditioning coped admirably. The price was a little high, but below that of some nearby hotels with much less to offer. There were three weddings happening on the day we arrived, so we expected lots of noise. We heard nothing. We wished we had been staying longer to enjoy the food and facilities. Next time!

Two flights of stairs at the end of a long day!

Size of room good, lovely hotel and immaculately kept, loved the peacocks and breakfast.😀

Bed was a very small double and very high up and quite uncomfortable. I nearly fell off the end. it's so small. Have rebooted but got a bigger bed this time. The room size would easily accommodate a larger one. The old toiletries were taken away on day two and not replaced, leaving us without any. Coffee in breakfast room is dreadful, I'm a bit of a coffee snob, so like coffee in a morning, I can drink. The young girl serving kindly offered to make me a cappuccino when she saw I'd left mine..

Lovely, helpful reservationist team Deepti was exceptionally helpful making it a special day. Spa was wonderful, quality products, very professional and friendly staff. The grounds are beautiful with the peacocks roaming free across the rolling lawns. The vegetarian menu had some nice choices. Breakfast was amazing with loads of choice from continental and cooked full English, good strong coffee. Evening bar staff were friendly and sociable too. Will definitely be back when we can for another spa weekend :-)

Had to wait an hour in the car as reception said we could not use the facilities after our spa treatment, as it was earlier than the checking time, which is understandable, but would have been nice to be directed to the bar rather than just told “ you can’t use the facilities”, however as the check-in was running late, we were directed to the bar later. We were also given some drinks vouchers which was a nice touch. In the dining area, they had to be prompted about the champagne dinner attached to my reservation, however the little birthday chocolate plate more than made up for it. Other than that the stay was great :-)

The main entrance hall is superb. My wife and I managed to snag the table by the fire which was very relaxing. She went to the spa before dinner which she reported to be excellent. Jamie looked after us for drinks. Our room, looking out to the front of the property, was extremely comfortable.

The food at dinner was a little disappointing. However my wife's main course was removed from our bill. The breakfast buffet was busy and in these Covid times utensils were being handled by a great deal of different hands. I asked if I could order something from the kitchen directly to our table but was told no. Then, when at the buffet, I asked for poached eggs I was told the kitchen would prepare them and they would be brought to my table? And they were. And they were delicious. Some staff seemed hesitant when questioned, perhaps new, others couldn't be more helpful. Claire very much so.

We love the ambience in the main hall by the log fire at this time of year. We have stayed in room 177 before so knew what to expect (though see below). Hotel has a warm feel to it provided by both the staff and the overall setting of the hotel.

Sadly (not for the first time) housekeeping and maintenance lets the hotel down. The light over the bed was dirty and had dead flies. The shower was partly blocked so that water did not drain quickly. However once drawn to the attention of the reception team the light fitting was attended to and the shower drain sorted while we had dinner, and all was good. My partner was of the view that the room had been designed by a man since there was no mirror in easy reach of the hairdryer!
