The owners were lovely and friendly and really accommodating- they were helpful when I had noisy neighbours and even put my drivers license under the door when I dropped it on the way out one evening. The rooms were so clean and comfortable and the shared areas were spotless. I even got to meet the puppies who were there for the day!

The only problem was there were kids in the room next to mine who were playing games and watching TV really loudly til the early hours. The next day Ian the owner gave me his number in case they did it again. Great service.

Nicely decorated. Very clean. Great to have a table and chair as well as a washbasin in the room. Friendly and helpful owners. Fridge and microwave on the landing for guests use. On street parking wasn't difficult to find relatively close. Liked that breakfast was an optional extra as I don't eat breakfast.

The walls were thin and I could hear my neighbour's phone call very clearly, but nobody stayed up late so I wasn't disturbed. Other reviews have mentioned the lack of individual bathmats so I took my own as I care about that. I do prefer not sharing a bathroom (which if course I knew about before booking) but that would be the only reason for not staying there again.

Quirky old style end terraced house with small rooms although could hear other occupants on mobile phones. Other than that, it was clean and did what it was intended for; clean, decent sleep, good interactions with owner who maid us feel welcome.

Small rooms but, being what it is you just get on with the experience.

Owner and family were super friendly and very helpful. Ian supplied me with chilled, filtered water and didn't freak out when I lost my room key! Very clean room, lovely house, 2 minutes walk from train station, 10 minute walk into town, next to a park, shops and bus stop. Couldn't ask for more.

The room was spotless clean, the owners were super friendly and helpful. It's a really nice guest house. The whole property is well cared of and well maintained. I would be always happy to return.

My room was facing the main street therefore it was little bit more noisy because of the traffic but still okay.

Check in quite late. I could do with a slightly earlier check in so I could travel with my husband sometimes, as he travels down very earlier and I'd have to hang around for hrs.

Perfect rest stop on tour. Minutes away from Train statin and bus stop right outside the door. Big Victorian Property so even my single room in the loft was adequately sized and house was clean. Communal showers were cleaned regularly as well. Take away few minutes away and had a communal fridge and microwave which was useful for mornings. Lovely couple, highly recommended.

The host, Ian, was very friendly - offering to carry our bags and greeting us whenever we arrived back, in addition to giving suggestions of places to visit. His wife was also very friendly - even interrupting a phonecall to greet us. The cleaner was very sweet and the property has a high degree of cleanliness.

The location was perfect for me, just a couple of minutes walk from the rail station and right outside was a bus stop to Ulverston. Kendal and Windermere. It was also opposite the lovely Barrow Park. In addition, the house was spotless, the staff charming and helpful and the room had everything I wanted including a TV, a writing desk and fast free Wi-Fi.

Greeted and chatted to at the door by the proprietor. Whole premises (that I saw) scrupulously clean. Warm, comfortable room. Not more than 5 minutes' walk from Barrow rail station. Bathroom only a few steps from room.

Would have preferred a room with private facilities but knew in advance this would not be the case.
