Friendly run b&b, with comfortable beds and delicious, well cooked breakfast - the toast was exceptional 😉 Easy walk to the seafront and Barry Island amusements and only 5 mins to the train station for our journey into Cardiff

Room and bathroom were very clean. Shower cubicle good size and hot. Facilities; fridge, fan, hairdryer, tea/coffee, tv all good. Bed was comfy and breakfast lovely. Staff very friendly.

Would have been useful to know more about the parking arrangements and whether a visitor permit was available ahead of stay. Was in loft room so ceilings were pitched and a head hazard, but appreciate not a lot can be done about that.

The room was very comfortable and spacious and Lucy and her father were very friendly and welcoming they certainly added to the experience of the guest house. Looking forward to more friends visiting me so I can take them to Barry and stay at Gail's Guesthouse

Breakfast very nice value for money and the bathroom was very clean and looked new which is always a bonus .

If I’m totally honest on arrival I did panic. The saying is never judge a book by its cover but on the outside on arrival I thought I cannot remember the picture like this I thought looked a bit run down down and needed a lick of paint. And then being told the bathrrom seperate but next door I panicked again but once I put the key in I got a very nice surprise. Well worth the money. The owners were very nice. The only advice I would give. Three keys that look the same colour code them. Would make it easier getting in. 🤣

The place was clean, the beds comfortable & the staff friendly. The location was ideal for us (visiting family members based at the sailing club) & the local beach was a delight.

The automatic messages & check-in system weren't always clear to me. It would have been helpful to know a little earlier that we didn't need to specify a definite arrival time so long as we arrived during the check-in time window (some booking.com properties do require this). Then we were unable to get in the front door at night (the key was faulty). Fortunately the 3rd phone call we made to the phone numbers given was lucky and we were let in (otherwise we would have been stranded). The staff got the locksmith in the next morning to check and remedy all keys, so hopefully this was a one-off issue.

Now don't judge Gails by its cover like we did as its so lovely. We pulled up and though oh god where have we booked. That thought left as soon as we entered, we went straight in before the check in time as we arrived early and wanted to park. Me and my friend stayed in the twin room 5 great size for two people, it was on the top floor, so a few staps to gey to it, may need a little touch up with the paint and a little dusty but it's an attic what do you expect it was good for an independent bnb, the beds were soo comfortable, the hosts were so helpful and lovely and the breakfast was delicious, as a vegetarian it was so tasty and had great choices, I like the pre order option as you know what to expect. My friends meat breakfast she said was delicious also. We slept well and were so surprised by how lovely the stay was. A small walk down to hill to the beach and pleasure park. Overall great stay thankyou to Lucy, and I think it was Lyndon for making us feel so welcome.

Great comfy bed and breakfast. Lovely staff and the breakfast was very nice. Ideal location not far from the train station and beach.

the breakfast was perfect and the bed was so comfortable also even though it was fully boooked it was so quiet.

Dont be deceived by the outside of the Guest house as its no where near what it looks like from the front.We had room 3 and it was comfortable with a comfortable bed.They run an order the breakfast the night before which works well for both parties,The room was clean and the breakfast well cooked by lucy[loved her].Yes the property could do with a bit of TLC in places but overal we had a comfortable stay.Just be aware of the parking restrictions outside as its a bit tricky so make sure you read the resident parking signs properly.

Basically the parking but nothing else

Lucy and lyndon were lovely, and couldn't do enough. The boys loved their specially made sandwiches just how they liked them! It's an ideal base, the tain station is a stones throw away as is everything else. Just ro mention don't park directly outside as its pernit holders only, the signage isn't obvious if you don't know the area, I found out to my detriment 🙈. Just park a bit further up and you'll be fine.
