Amazing setting and lovely breakfast. Nice touch was an ice bucket in the room so we could enjoy a glass of wine as the pub was closed. The views from the room were exceptional as directly look out onto wetlands so great for birdwatching. When we expressed our dismay about the pub and restaurant being closed we were kindly offered the opportunity to change our booking to another night, but as we were on a road trip this wasn't possible. Much appreciated however.

Information about restaurant and pub being closed on the night we stayed was not clear when booking through booking.com so we found ourselves without any access to local places as all seemed to be closed that night. On hotel website it was clear but we would expect this on the booking.com website too.

Nicely sea themed rooms fitting to the environment of the river Humber. Quiet location with welcoming staff & clean well equipped rooms. I booked in late and stayed for dinner in the pub restaurant. The staff were very helpful. It was a gastro pub menu and was seafood heavy, appropriate for the venue, but there was only one vege option- vege burger & chips - which arrived without any form of garnish or salad, so looked bear on the plate, and lacking in greens for a vege! I ordered an extra salad, a large glass of white, and paid £32.50….. a bit pricey I felt! The bed was super comfy, although the room was a little chilly for the first frosty night of the season.

As above.

The travel cot was excellent, it was clean, big and had a comfy mattress (which is rare!). The room was extremely spacious (great for our 8 month old to roll around and crawl in after a long journey) and had a Nespresso machine. We had a couple of additional requests which were met with no extra charge. The breakfast was presented beautifully in our room (we stayed on a Sunday which meant the restaurant was closed on Monday).

There wasn't really anything we didn't like. Maybe a fridge/iron in the room would be handy as there is enough room to have these things but really just a helpful tip as it didn't affect our stay at all. For some the view may dampen their stay as the cement factory is nearby but again, this didn't affect our trip and it wasn't noisy... the area is very quiet and calm.

The room was large, very clean and well furnished. We didn’t have a great view (cement works) though that didn’t matter as it was dark. The menu was excellent and food great. The atmosphere was good and wait staff good. We had the continental breakfast which was also very good

We found the chairs in the restaurant uncomfortable and after dinner would have like to sit in the bar but there are no comfortable chairs there either. This might be personal rather than a general issue as everything else was excellent

We chose the deluxe room with river view and it was nicely furnished to a high standard with very comfy bed. The continental breakfast is included in the price and if a cooked breakfast is required it must be ordered the night by 8pm and costs extra. However the continental breakfast was good with granola, croissant, toast, satsumas and small pot of yoghurt to share. The view across the River Ancholme to the Humber beyond is nice and the sunset was a bonus. It is clear this is a popular pub/restaurant but we didn't experience any disturbance from people leaving. There was a nice touch of an ice bucket filled with ice in the bedroom containing a bottle of water and fresh milk. There were also delicious biscuits prettily wrapped.

Although the room was clean, the handrails on the staircase were sticky and as the stairs are steep, it was necessary to hold on. The ensuite shower room is small. There is only one chair in the bedroom so to admire the sunset, one of us had to sit on the bedside table. The price we paid was "top wack" for the room size but it was a Saturday night so probably understandable.

Food at dinner and breakfast was exceptional. The people that worked there were lovely. Very comfy bed. Clean and pleasant room. Lovely spot on the edge of the estuary. I woke up to a sensational view of sunrise over the Humber Bridge and rushed outside to take a few photos and enjoy the tranquility of nature waking up for the day on the estuary. I couldn't book a river view room as they were full but it didn't matter. My room was excellent and I was still able to enjoy all the beauty of the riverside location from the property. I loved the fish tank!

The location is fantastic with stunning views over the Humber. The room was comfortable and clean. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. We ate dinner on two nights and it was superb , especially the mussels. continental breakfast was served with fantastic granola. This is a great place to stay to visit local nature reserves and is to be recommended.

Shame there isn’t a bath in the en-suite but only a very minor point for me.

The staff were really helpful and pleasant. I asked one of the young lads if they normally wear name tags and he said they never had. It would be nice to call someone by name or individually praise some one but to be fair all of them were very pleasant I had the Sunday roast which was very nice very well presented with lots of great tasting vegetables the location looking over the river was very nice

Did not fully realise when booking that breakfast was not served on a Monday. One of the staff brought a breakfast tray to the room in the evening. Will ensure we book next time when a cooked breakfast is available

Breakfast was superb. Home made, delicious and best porridge we have had in any accommodation. We loved looking out of our very light room at the reeds and marsh area with ducks, goslings and even a dolphin swimming in the creek!

The only downside for me was the steep dark staircase up to our room. There are handrails but being elderly still felt a bit tricky.

The food was wonderful. We both loved the continental breakfast. We had homemade date jam which was really good and different. Our evening meal was great too. The staff were so friendly and took time to chat to us. The views from the restaurant were amazing across the Humber.

Everything was good. The sign outside the building was quite dark and difficult to read.
