The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast has a good value for money ratio. It was the ideal location for us: between the charming city of Bath and the university campus.

In our opinion, the room deserves a small refreshment: although it was clean, there were some small "downgrades", like a degrading skirting board, a loose plug, corners of wallpaper coming off, and curtains not so fresh anymore. One the one hand, it has its charm given the classical building, but on the other hand, some modernization is perhaps in order to restore the building in its original glory.

The location was perfect, within 10 minutes walk of Bath City centre. Our room was large and comfortable and my request for a twin room was granted, which was useful as I was travelling with my 19 year old son. We were able to park our car on site safely.

It wasn't clear when booking that I would have to pay £10 extra, per night,to park the car. My understanding of the information I read, was that the car parking for actual guests was included in the room cost. The bulb in my bedside light was a harsh white whilst the the one beside my son's bed was a much nicer warm white.

Whilst the location is very good and position, the most impressive part of the stay was the room itself. Very comfortable, roomy and thoughtfully appointed. I even received a welcome card which made it so personal. Downstairs there's a nice room in which to enjoy the bar. The property feels secure and safe.

The only thing that surprised me negatively was a £10 charge to park my vehicle. I do not remember that being mentioned to me on arrival. Why charge for a car staying at the property when the only reason you are there is to stay at the property. Might be better just to charge £10 extra on the room fee, it still would have been good value.

Loved the location, grounds and style of Hotel . The Hotel rooms were comfortable and had everything you needed for a weekend break way . The staff were very friendly, polite and welcoming .

The Hotel rooms could do with decorating as very tired and stained . Breakfast had a good range of choices just disappointed that they offer muffins on the menu but didn’t have any available on both days we stayed . I’m not sure why you have to pay for parking as they have spaces in the Hotel grounds which I thought would have been included in the overall price

We really loved everything about this place! We chose the location to be away from the bustling city center of Bath, but it was a short, easy 10 minute walk to get there and enjoy the city center without the hustle, bustle and noise. They also have a beautiful garden that is peaceful and nice to stroll in, maybe take a cup of tea out there! We extended our stay one night and had to move rooms since it was a last minute decision. The staff was very accommodating and held our luggage while we were gone for the day and when we came back, our luggage was in our new room! They were very friendly and helpful! Both rooms we had were unique and comfortable. it is top notch style and we enjoyed the tea service in the room. Breakfast was lovely with a nice selection of fresh fruits, yogurt, cereal, and hot English breakfast. We would definitely stay there again if we ever get back to Bath!

The room was beautiful and had everything you needed. The breakfast was delicious, exceeded my expectations and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Location and view onto the gardens was stunning, overall very pleased.

Noticed some tiny dust buildup on bed posts and frame but that's just be being really picky because overall the property was gorgeous and very clean. The only fault that is extremely minor, there is nothing else that I can complain about, it was very impressive!

The Ayrlington is a delightful hotel staffed by super-friendly people! We had a deluxe room which overlooked the gardens. The bed was very comfortable with lovely fresh linen and the bathroom was very clean with a good shower. The breakfast was excellent - fresh cooked individually and the perfect quantity. You did have to say what time you wanted to eat it as the dining room is small so there were three sittings (7.45, 8.30 and 9.15). This wasn’t a problem for us - and you didn’t have to have the same time each day of your stay. Parking is tight but it was lovely to just leave the car for three days and walk into Bath which took about 10 minutes, along beautiful streets, including Great Pulteney Street.

Nothing - if we visit Bath again the Ayrlington will be our first choice of hotel.

The Ayrlington was a very comfortable and well-run hotel in a lovely Georgian building. All the staff were exceptionally welcoming - helpful and friendly without being "over the top". Our room was large and airy and decorated to match the age of the building but with a lovely modern en-suite shower room - the best of both worlds! There was a good choice at breakfast - from fresh fruit salad and yoghurt to a freshly cooked "full English". The hotel's location is ideal for sight-seeing in Bath - all within a 10/15 minute walk. It is located on a main road but we are used to traffic noise so it wasn't a problem and there is very little traffic during the night. We never made it into the garden but it looked lovely from the breakfast room windows. Would stay again on our next visit to Bath.

We had no problem with anything at the Ayrlington.

Room was good size , clean, with comfy bed. Breakfast was good, but not exceptional. Location was good for easy access to town centre. Staff were very pleasant and very helpful. Very special thanks to Kara who went out of her way to help us with directions and bookings during our stay.

Bathroom had shower only , no bath. Bedroom furniture was a bit shabby, although bedside lockers and lamps were changed on the second day. Windows need a good cleaning, and paintwork needed. Breakfast was lacking that 5 star quality, selection of seeds/ dried fruits with cereals , croissants, and just a generally larger selection, would have been appreciated. Located on a very busy road, so road noise is an issue at night and early morning hours.

We changed our booking to 2 nights upon arrival. Great location with car park and beautiful garden. All the staff, receptionists and dining room staff were super friendly and couldn't be more welcoming. In many years of traveling we have never met such professional, courteous and welcoming staff. Our room was large and spacious, lots of hanging space. Bathroom had a large bath and separate shower. Everywhere well maintained and in keeping with the age of the property. Breakfast was very good. We liked the way it was organised.

Our bed was uncomfortable on the first night I asked if the mattress could be turned which housekeeping did and our second night was great.
