Restaurant and bar food was excellent. Location was ideal for the places we visited. Interesting walk from the hotel into Battle. Location of room good and parking close by.

We booked what was described on booking.com as.... 'Junior suite with Balcony - Bedroom 1: 1 extra large double bed - Living room: 1 sofa bed'. We were therefore expecting 2 separate rooms; a bedroom and a living room. What we were given by the hotel was one room containing a double bed and a sofa bed. When we questioned this, the hotel staff told us they do not have any suites with two separate rooms. That being the case, the decription of this suite on the booking.com website should to be changed.

A lovely room with a balcony looking out over the swimming pool. The room was very clean and serviced well. The grounds are splendid with nice walks from the hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Very dog friendly. All in all, a great stay, thank you.

The buffet breakfast was a little average compared to the experience of the overall stay (probably reflected in the price). The shower was over the bath and a bit of a climb into!

Beautiful grounds. Really comfortable bedroom and bed. Lovely drawing room to sit in and have a drink. Great breakfast. Nice to get in the pool!

We weren't advised to book for dinner when we booked the room and when we got there, there was no availability! No one suggested room service to us as an alternative - but we found the menu in our room and did that instead. Food was excellent.

Location was lovely and quiet. Rooms was lovely and had a lovely view of the lake. Staff was friendly and helpful and had professionalism throughout. Funny humour as well. Perfect location for my cousins party with separate area for us to enjoy his birthday. Great night was had.

The bed was to soft especially on the sides when you sat on the edges. Was too soft for my back. Had to sleep in the middle as my back needed to have harder mattress. From my cousins knowledge there having a refurbishment done soon which is needed with the mattress and there was a chip in the bath enamel. Shower was in need of cleaning on the shower head so it would come out better. Other than that all was lovely and ok.

I liked everything. The whole staying was excellent. The room was very clean and warm. The bed was so comfy I don't have enough words to describe it. The room was equipped with all the required things. Breakfast was very good and tasty, with wide choice of main cooked dishes. I am so happy finding this outstanding hotel for my staying.

Very few minor things - cold water tap was leaking and poor noise insulation in the room. It is understandable as the building itself is rather old. There was only one standard socket in the room, the rest ones were somehow special, so we could connect only one charger.

Great location. The main Hotel and our room in the Cloisters were excellent. Parking was no problem. The Restaurant was very good with a great menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as snacks if required. Staff were attentive although it was clear some were new and lacked experience/training. Overall a very good couple of days.

My only criticism is that the entrances to the Cloisters were untidy with signs hanging loose and a bag of garden waste remaining outside the door for the duration of our stay. The ramp could also receive some attention as it is deteriorating with crumbling and uneven concrete. Not up to the standard I would have expected.

A lovely relaxing time, the staff were all very friendly and the hotel has a nice atmosphere The hotel is set in beautiful grounds and the pool was a great bonus.Food in the hotel was excellent, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. Also a varied menu on offer for both breakfast and dinner. Our room was spacious and had a balcony with a lovely view over the pool.We felt it was good value and will definitely visit again.

The bathroom was very large but a little tired,it had a few loose floor tiles and there was no fixed shower. The bath was large and luxurious, but I feel that an elderly person could struggle to get in and out of it. It was tricky trying to wash my hair with a hand held shower head. The room could easily accommodate a separate shower.

We loved that it is dog-friendly so we could have a "family" weekend away without too much concern for getting a dog-sitter. All staff were welcoming, super friendly and gave us really useful tips on walks through the surrounding farmland. They were in midst of wedding season, but were still able to be professional to guests who weren't part of the wedding parties. The building is quite old, so the floors have their own personalities ;-) I love the wisteria on the frontage. Multiple lakes surround the property, and bring a peace and tranquillity to your stay. We weren't brave enough to test the pool, but were told by other guests that it was lovely. Breakfast was included in our deal, offered multiple tempting options. We both chose the full English and it was delicious. Thank you for making our stay really lovely.

Old buildings can't do air-conditioning, but that wasn't an issue for us. The provided fan may not be enough for others when it's warmer or more humid overnight.

Breakfast was lovely, lots to chose from. Beautiful evening meals attended to by lovely staff.when my mother had a fall they were so kind and thoughtful. This is why we come back.

Some of the outdoor benches are a bit rickety, I got a bit scared that they would collapse. Some aspects of the grounds are a little tired, and the lakes smelt very nasty .but we accept this as its a very old building. The room 26 we thought was disabled freindly, but upon arrival,we quickly realised,no grab bars in the toilet or seat for the shower.bed was quite high and the chair was too low. Myself and mother both have mobility issues. So next time we will book room no 1 as that is very much accessible.

As long standing customers of the Powdermills Hotel we were a little apprehensive to learn that it was under new ownership We needn't have worried since things are just as good as ever, indeed, promises for future development are exciting. Our stay was a treat as usual. We had a beautiful lakeside room with every comfort. The bed was huge and the duvet absolutely first class. The Orangery Restaurant has lovely atmosphere, good food and friendly efficient service although it has to be said, just a little expensive for what it is.

No major problems. If rooms are going to be updated or refurbished in the future, I would suggest a decent coffee machine in each suite would be welcomed. Currently you get a kettle and the very cheapest sachets of Nescafe. (yuk!).
