Amazing place and facilities

We enjoyed everything, even had a romantic dinner at midnight next to the fountain, at a table of one of the restaurants (staff let us enjoy our moment). For sure we'll go again. *a mini fridge would be amazing to have in the room

A lovely hotel and location, all members of staff were extremely helpful and friendly, proper northern hospitality, nothing too much trouble. My reason for staying at the hotel was an event held in the Pennie room, the staff were all very efficient and the catering ran smoothly, the three course meal was served hot and delicious. Drinks perhaps a little expensive🙁so consequently I didn’t get too drunk🥴. Thank you to all the staff.

Although there is a spa on site there is an extra charge to use it if your not on a spa package. I thought the extra charge a bit excessive.

Room was clean. Landscaping and views were excellent. Loved the fountain in the courtyard cottages area. The food was good. The most friendly service was in the Drop Inn. The other eating areas were less friendly but still OK.

Room was a little too small for two people. It was smaller than others we stayed in on our trip. Two of the windows would not work properly. One would not open and the other one in the bathroom would not close. We reported these to the cleaning lady after the first night. We had to ask for an extra bath towel since there was only one in the unit even though we registered for two people. Also, the room needs more draw space storage. We found the shelves in the closet a little cumbersome to use for storing our clothing. Would have liked to take more local transportation rather than having to drive our hired care everywhere. Could their be more information available on local bus, taxi, Uber services etc.?

The staff couldn't do more for you. Infact it was a very hot evening and they had run out of fans, explaining my dog was struggling in the hot room the staff went out and purchased more! The spa was nice and relaxing. The hotel is huge and there's plenty of space to go and have a drink/food in different locations, all dog friendly too. Breakfast was incredible, loads of choice and super fresh. Plenty of grounds to exercise your dog too.

The room was small, and the carpets didn't look the cleanest, also smelt a bit like smoke. I would say expensive. Evening food (pizza round the back pub) wasn't great.

What stands out are the surroundings, the beautiful setting but, mostly, the staff. They are the best staff we have ever come across anywhere in the world. Cannot do enough for you. Special mention for Julie who looked after us so well on our first morning and also our cleaner Amelia who was a delight.

Was not clear what time breakfast times were and so we did not get our cooked breakfast on the second morning. Even the chap behind reception said that he confused by them. Also, a young lady on reception did not know that Emerson also own Smithhills which is shown in the large picture behind the desk. Would have thought that was a fact that should have been mentioned during training.

The Last Drop Hotel and Spa is a fabulous place to stop when staying in Bolton. I arrved to the hotel, managed to find a parking space in the hotel carpark (not the Spa / Pool / Gym) and parked up. Check in was easy, and the room was super comfortable and big !! I was able to spread my clothes for the next day out on the second bed - and relax for the evening in front of the TV. Breakfast was OK, a relatively standard UK hotel offer of a hot and cold buffet. Checkout was clean and easy - and I will stay there again when next needing to be in the North West.

The only challenge is parking. The regular users of the Gym and Pool - park in the hotel carpark - because it is a shorter walk for them to the pool and Gym. If one is having to either carry bags in or out - it is a bit of a trek to the carpark when you have cases. Apart from this - there isn't anything negative to say.

Warm and friendly welcome, although the hotel was fully booked it didn't feel too overwhelming. Lots of nice outdoor space to enjoy the sun. Most people staying were there for the P!nk concert in Bolton, and the hotel took this into consideration and put on late night food and drinks at discounted rates after the concert. The management were very hands on and approachable. The brunch was exceptional, we had the poached eggs with local black pudding, Lancashire cheese on sourdough and it was worth every penny. Looking forward to a return trip and will spend the weekend enjoying the spa next time

Room service options were very limited past 2am although staff were very accommodating and went above and beyond. Had booked a twin room and put notes that we were friends travelling on our booking. Requested ground floor accommodation due to disability which was granted, however the room was set up as a double with two twin beds pushed together and only one duvet. When I asked for an extra duvet staff were very friendly and brought us one straight away.

The location, spa facilities and staff were fantastic. We enjoyed our stay very much and felt that the staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The food was fantastic both breakfast and dinner and the restaurant staff were really polite and responsive.

Overall both the individual rooms and the spa was too hot. The room was so hot that it was hard to sleep, when taking the duvet cover off we found a duvet covered in stains and blood. The spa had a really nice outside pool but it was very hot and even lying down in the spa to read, it was too hot so we didn't end up staying as long as we wanted to.

I love this property! it’s an interesting site near to a variety of activity but we really love to stay as a family so we can make use of the pool and spa and bar area for family time. The staff are lovely and it feels like a real family hotel. the surrounding area to walk is beautiful. a real gem the breakfasts are brilliant too!

I feel they could make very small adjustments to really add to the experience - some of the spa corners a bit rusty and crucially none of the windows seemed to be cleaned when we went there. it’s such a small thing but I felt it detracted from the potential feel of the trip. I feel they could really up the good game and service in the bar on the day we were there. the staff were so lovely but I don’t feel were attentive enough. they left tables with dirty dishes for a good 15 minutes after eating, forgot cutlery, made a few minor mistakes with the order - so small investment in their training in service could have made a real difference.
