Breakfast in particular was very nice and good value, although we had to wait a while to be served. Dinner was fine too. Staff generally very pleasant. Rooms comfortable and good accessible room with walk in shower.

I am disabled and when checking in there was nowhere to sit. I had to wait for someone to come to reception and as I cannot stand for long, I made the mistake of sitting on the seat behind the desk. A man rushed across and quite curtly told me I could not sit there which I did understand. However when I said there was nowhere to sit, no attempt was made to bring a chair. The accessible room was generally very good, but someone had turned the shower tap off so tightly that I struggled to turn it on. Likewise I could not fold down the the shower seat.

This was a stop over as we travelled south to north. The Hotel was easy to fine as directions given were first class. The check in procedure was easy, the room was spotless and the facilities were way above what we expected. There was refreshments in the room and two packets of biscuits, it was an amazing room, the bed was so comfortable and a choice of soft or medium firm pillows. The bathroom was well stocked and the water lovely and warm for a refreshing shower with great soft towels. There was a restaurant next door but we did not use these facilities as we had already eaten and did not have breakfast as we wanted to get on with our trip. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, it was beyond first class in every way including the staff, everyone was so helpful and friendly.

There was nothing you could have done any better to make our trip exceptional, thank you

I have stayed several times at this hotel. it’s a large “family”-style pub with a separate annex building for the rooms. it’s a great concept from Marstons Breweries and this location has an excellent management team doing a good job. As a hotel it is easy to find, a good link to the nearby motorway and other main road connections to the town. The rooms are very comfortable and clean and also very quiet. The service staff are nice and friendly and happy to help with any requests. There is plenty of car parking that is well lit. The pub itself is wonderful, a well-run “gastro-pub”, there is a great menu that offers a wide range of food for all tastes and has a wide range of draft ales, beer and bottled drinks, including Marstons excellent “Pedigree” ale. The pub is large and can get get quite busy, with the local community as well as hotel guests. It has a great atmosphere. The Manager told me that the hotel is the most popular hotel in the Blackburn area and it’s easy to see why. the pub also offers excellent breakfast choices and is open from 7:00am.

we had no negative experiences during our stay there.

The room was clean. The staff were pleasant. The restaurant was lively and friendly. Ample easy-access and egress car park.

Sadly, the main course for dinner that I ordered and paid for was not available after all, so I ordered an alternative, which was cheaper. I was not offered a refund and when I mentioned it I was told that I had to ask the Manager, who seemed to be eternally busy and not interested, but as it was only a couple of £s I left things as they were. I would have been more impressed if the waitress had dealt with the matter as it happened.

The location had great winter views over the valley ..the room was big clean had everything we needed.we were un disturbed . The restaurant pub was next door .we ate there twice and the food was lovely and the staff was friendly . Would stay there again .

The outside needed gritting from the car park to the pub and hotel.was very dangerous under foot. Because of the snow and ice. The bed was not the double we had booked.it was two single beds shoved together which was uncomfortable to sleep in the middle . The reception is in the busy restaurant which took along time for them to actually check us in . There are no lifts up to the second floor ect were we stayed in room 210. The food was good but took ages to arrive .

the room was just right, right size, clean comfortable, I like that was a lot of milk to make tea and coffee.

there is never an option for hot drink if the person doesn't like tea or coffee, like hot chocolate, on if I don't like coffee but want a decatenated tea before bed like an herbal tea. even if this was offered as a option at check in so you can take what you need (tea bag or hot chocolate sachet) to your room and make it there.

We arrived late afternoon and was greeted by a very welcoming lady (part of the management) and made to feel very welcome. The room was very nice and very clean, after freshing up we headed back to the bar area, and a again made to feel part of the furniture. And for a southerner this was what we expected from an outlet like this. Bar staff were very good and so was the young lady who was the waitress. Since getting back home to Folkestone I have been singing the praises of the Willows and have recommed this as a stop over if they are going up north. We ask the staff where we could get a really good authentic curry and the barman did not fail in his recommendation in Darwin, even done to the best taxi service. EXCEPTIONAL VENUE AND STAFF.

No there is nothing anyone could have done to make our stay any better than it was.

Easy check-in, polite helpful staff. Great location with local shops. Breakfast was great value, car park was safe and free parking. Beds and towels very fresh, also as we stayed for two nights housekeeping checked if we needed any top ups on tea, coffee, milk sugar, towels, loo roll. Staff amazing, all a credit to the business.

We were a family of 4 staying for two nights, and a mini fridge would have been a helpful addition.

The room was a lovely size, including the bed, which was nice and comfortable. It was clean (including the tea station on the desk) and cosy. There were plenty of good-sized mirrors, and the window was also big, which I liked. I had a great view of the next-door pub outside, and I loved walking less than a minute away to have a pub dinner. Really enjoyable cheese pie. I videoed my partner throughout [dinner], and no one treated me like I was strange for doing so, ha. Staff all seemed very friendly. I liked my room biscuits.

Accessibility-wise, things definitely could have been better. My parents drove me (I'd originally planned to come via train, but a strike was on) and thankfully carried my bags up to the room with us. This was particularly helpful as I have a disability and was on the last room of the second (and final) floor. XD However, I'm fairly sure the staff would have accommodated me the best they could, had I asked. Unrelated, the WiFi was spotty sometimes, but I don't imagine that can be helped in the countryside!

Location was great as i booked the hotel to be near hospital. I loved the menu and though skipping breakfast had lunch and supper both days. Was in accessable room so the walk in wet room was 10/10. Liked friendliness of all staff who offered to help with bags Also brought me room service with no extra charge. Food was very tasty and excellent value for money.

As i have hip problems i did find the bed a little firm but slept on duvet with the other half to cover me. This helped a little. Everything else wasc10/10
