Nice location, a short walk downhill to the town obviously uphill coming back. Several stairs up to your room (no lift). This is our 3rd yearly visit here, this time there was a wedding venue at the hotel which we weren’t told about in advance, as some of the facilities like the bar and the restaurant were closed for the wedding!

Unfortunately the wedding at the hotel made quite an impact on our stay. We had to go up the back steps to our room (helped by staff with our bags) couldn’t go back downstairs for 15mins while the speeches were taking place, then the route back downstairs brought you straight into the restaurant full of the wedding guests! The bar was also closed for this wedding too. Had I been told in advance of arriving I would’ve cancelled my stay but no advance warning at all. Also lots of banging doors early in the morning (7am). Sorry for the negativity as the last 2 years have been great 🤷‍♀️

Handy location for us, as we were visiting family. The pool is an added bonus as my grandkids love swimming and spent over an hour in there splashing about and playing. Reception Staff here are lovely and always helpful. Dining room ladies at breakfast are always cheery, too. I dont eat at the hotel, but we love sitting on the big leather couches planning the day before heading out. This is my second stay here and won't be my last. It's an old hotel so it's a bit dated but the rooms are clean the bedding is fresh and you get a good supply of tea/coffee and biscuits in your room so that's all you need👍

Don't serve evening meal till 6pm, which was far too late for us, especially when you have a couple of young kids that need fed every hour but that's even worse after they been swimming 😂 It wasnt really a problem as Ramsbottom has plenty of other places to eat so we headed out and ate at the Railway pub that night and found a lovely Italian place the next night. We have had breakfast at the hotel once, on a previous stay. It was expensive for what it was, so now we go either Starbucks, greggs, or walk into town for breakfast as there's a much better choice for the money. Minor gripes and i confess all food related, but I dont go to this hotel for the food so it won't stop us from going back there as it is a lovely old place that we all really enjoy.

Location was good for attending the event on the East Lancashire Railway which passes through Ramsbottom. Room was warm, comfortable and clean. I also used the swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. All in good working order, but see below. Staff were good and evening meal was plain and simple, if a little expensive, but not many options in Ramsbottom on a wet Monday evening in October, so just fine.

Not much, all good, but the swimming pool is very cold and like the rest of the hotel, looking a little tired, but--good value for the cost. No really it was cold!

Firstly, Ramsbottom is a lovely place so glad we went. Read all the reviews about it being dated and all the rest and probably fair enough comments but its just a room to sleep in at the end of the day. The shower worked, the bed was comfy and the linen was fresh. Facilities were excellent and we took full advantage of them. Breakfast was tasty enough but we only ate there 1 day so maybe I'm not the best to comment on that aspect. I'm booking again in July for a couple of days as we loved our time there, even though we were out most of the time..... We had a great time relaxing in the bar with those big sofas.

Wouldn't say there was anything we didn't like, really. Think my partners only gripe was the tiny portion of baked beans at breakfast, but hardly a showstopper 🤣🤣🤣🤣

All the staff were so kind and heartfelt. We were made to feel very welcome and they couldn't do enough for us. I particularly liked the swimming pool and fitness suite. All great value for money! We will certainly visit again. Thank You.

The couple in the adjoining room were arguing until around 4 am on my first night. And we were also disturbed by the smoke alarm going off at around 1am, enforcing us to vacate our rooms in our nightwear. A fault in the system, and they apologised profusely.

Nice friendly welcoming staff at all times giving great services, very good choice at breakfast time something to suit everyone . Enjoyed the leisure facilities swimming pool and jacuzzi . Great location within a short walk to town centre with a selection of bars and restaurants .

Pool facilities could do with getting a bit of a spruce up as looking a bit dated. Rooms were really warm and stuffy due to the weather being warm , wish we had asked for a fan .

The location. The dining room beautifully set for breakfast. Introduction of different breads at breakfast. Good shower. Very white bath towels and sheets. It was obvious since my last stay a much needed renovation has begun in small stages.

Climbing into the bath for a shower without hand rail could lead to slipping. The cost of accommodation had been added incorrectly. I did get a refund, but it took a few days and because of the exchange rate I paid costs twice.

Friendly staff, easy check-in, clean & comfortable room, clean & functional ensuite. I really appreciated the radiator in my room, as I got drenched by rain before I arrived! Good breakfast, lots of choice. I didn't use the restaurant, but the menu is good (and it smelled delicious!) The grounds are idyllic... it's a lovely setting. I stayed here last year, as well, and will definitely come back. Also, the pool is lovely ☺️

I would have appreciated a hairdryer in my room. Also, an extra towel (for my hair) would have been good: there's only a bath towel & a hand towel. Not major problems, though.

After a dreadful delayed coach journey the staff were very pleasant and welcoming which lifted our moved on arrival. The check in staff explained the key card, location of the restaurant & bar along with the facilities within the hotel such as the gym and pool area.

Little out dated for us but I think this fits in with the homely feeling of where we were in Manchester. We needed something close by family as the whole family were travelling up to spend Christmas with family who lived a 5 min drive away.
