The room was very spacious and comfortable. There were beams running through and the room was tastefully decorated. It was a very warm weekend so the addition of fans a great touch. There was a complimentary croissant and porridge for breakfast and the bathroom was beautiful. The bathroom tap was a bit lose and the bed a bit creaky but it just added to the character of the place. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

If you struggle with mobility it may be a bit far out of the town, although the walk is flat. Just something to consider.

Great location in centre of Banbury. Good car parking. Great welcome. Excellent bedroom. A very friendly bar. Close to a wide variety of restaurants. While no on-site breakfast the bonus of a pain au chocolat and porridge provided in the bedroom. Overall a great stay - will certainly visit again.

Cleanliness, friendliness, staff were fabulous & very tentative. Shout out to Carla, who welcomed me on my arrival & showed me to my room. She was absolutely brilliant throughout my stay .

The room was spacious, clean and warm. The manager/owner was very friendly and efficient.

Nothing really about what was provided. As other reviewers have mentioned the pub does not currently provide meals which was a shame.

Really friendly welcome, nice feeling of a local and lovely, comfortable, cosy room.

Not their fault as they explained the chef leaving and their struggle to get a decent new one but I’d have happily ate there and had breakfast too. Maybe next time.

Excellent helpful staff. Kitchen was closed, but still sorted me some food from a local recommended takeaway. Lovely welcoming girls on the bar and were really helpful. Nice room and comfortable bed.

The quality of the rooms and the relative quiet

It’s a shame that you can’t eat there it is a lovely cosy old pub and it would be great if guests could eat there. Having said that there are plenty of places to eat close by.

It was clean with a warm welcoming atmosphere, near to everything needed for a short break or traveling for work

It’s a pity there was no restaurant for evening meals and breakfast.
