A warm welcome on arrival, fast check-in and useful information regarding the hotel, facilities and locale provided by the Drakes staff who were all very helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. Our elegant, beautifully furnished and thoughtfully designed room was immaculately clean, contained all the usual amenities as well as several nice touches. The White Company toiletries (gift bag), complimentary slippers, generous selection of quality tea, coffee and biscuits, Sky TV, easy to access and useful hotel information, Drakes rock (sweets), etc. were all appreciated. It's clear that considerable thought has been put into all aspects of guest comfort at Drakes Hotel. Our bed was incredibly comfortable, the superior bed linen and cloud size pillows an absolute delight to sleep on! Perfectly laundered, soft and fluffy towels in the bathroom, quality toiletries in abundance (so rare in hotels these days) and great water pressure from the rain shower. Breakfast was nicely cooked and presented. Coffee or tea, fresh orange juice, toast or croissant and a full English (other breakfast options are available). The Drakes restaurant staff at breakfast, charming and efficient. All the guests present were smiling and happy, a great way to start the day. If you're planning a trip to Brighton, Drakes Hotel is the place to stay.

Drake Hotel did everything right - they went over and above to help us when we were caught in a dreadful storm, and sent a taxi to get us to the hotel safely when we were unable to get one for ourselves. Nothing was too much trouble and they were friendly, professional and informative at all times. They suggested an amazing little Italian restaurant nearby so we didn’t have to travel far in the weather, and even rang to book us a table. Little touches in the extremely clean and tastefully decorated accommodation set it above in my opinion, ie the toiletries were quality and smelled wonderful, a decent hairdryer etc.

Staff had a right amount of interaction, everyone seemed to enjoy working there as all staff were so exceptionally pleasant. The room had aircon which was very welcomed as the weekend we stayed was very warm. The rooms were clean, comfortable and lots of nice touches, such as bathrobes, slippers and toiletries. Breakfast was excellent. Everything had been thought of throughout and we even had a complimentary call before travelling, which we have never had before. Very impressive. Thankyou.

Can't think of anything. Only observation is that those with young children may find the stairs etc a bit challenging!

This hotel is really lovely, clean and organised. It’s really central to shops and restaurants and of course with full seaview and located near Brighton Pier, The staff were happy to help with anything from ordering taxis to bringing coffee to my room in the morning. My little attic room was gorgeous, which came with complimentary shampoo/conditioner toiletries and slippers..the deep free-standing bath with a sea view was so relaxing, and was topped off with a little balcony. which you can get out onto when the sun made an appearance!

No lift , so there was 4 flights of stairs to my room but the view was worth the extra exercise! if you want to use the bath take your own body wash as there isn’t any in the room, although reception may be able to provide (incl bubble bath!)

A nice comfortable room and bed with a lovely view of the beach. A great breakfast and really friendly and helpful staff and a nice.

The hotel is on a main road and if you're a light sleeper or not used to road noise when getting to sleep or wanting a lie-in, be aware of this if you have a sea view. The single pane sash windows (which are an original feature, I think) look nice and add to the character of the building but some investment in sound proofing would make the stay all the more enjoyable for those like me who need relative silence to sleep well.

This hotel was absolutely amazing! The room was simply stunning and kindly decorated for us for our anniversary which was so so appreciated! We loved our breakfast it was delicious and all the extra little goodies in the room such as cookies, rock candy and slippers etc!! All the staff were lovely and super accommodating and we would definitely return here for another stay!!

We would have preferred the pillows to all be one size as the extremely large pillows were very firm and difficult to sleep on. So two pillows of the same size on either side of the bed for each person would be great if possible :) it is a shame there isn’t a lift in the hotel but not essential

An excellent location, on the sea front and only a 10 minute walk from the centre of Brighton. To have allocated parking so nearby was a big plus. Our room was a good size and extremely well equipped, the bed was wonderfully comfortable and the bathroom had everything that one could wish for including a superb shower. The hotel staff were wonderfully helpful, positive and friendly. Breakfast was outstanding: plenty of choice, excellent ingredients and efficient service.

Too many silly shaped pillows! It may have been a triumph of interior design but they didn’t make sleeping easy.

I loved everything about this Hotel. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with such a positive happy gentleman. He assisted us with restaurants in the area and also helped us with our bags. We stayed on the 4th floor which was in the attic area with the outdoor balcony. It was so great to be able to go out and see all of the beach and wharf. There was a bath in the room which looked out over the beach also. Beds were the best we had over the 5 weeks away. I can not recommend this place enough.

Fantastic location and hotel has parking for a minimal overnight charge. Staff very friendly and helpful, room was lovely, bed extremely comfortable but perhaps a little over-priced. Fabulous breakfast and there's a breakfast in bed option. Lovely building and character.

Window coverings could be better as they don't block out much light. The stairs are the main issue, as there's no lift. So if you are second floor or higher it's a bit of an effort and the stairs are narrow.

very comfortable bed towels, toiletries and ensuite were of of a high standard excellent cleanliness superb sea view of Brighton Pier and beach very good choices for breakfast parking nearby helpful staff, especially the gentleman who carried our cases up four flights of stairs to our room the outside veranda was a pleasant surprise - complete with a table and chairs

Just a thought... the sofa in our room was rather restrictive and uncomfortable, so perhaps a couple of nice chairs either side of the table could have been a better alternative.
