Location was more than I expected! I was blown away! For my first time in Brighton it was definitely a positive experience and I will be returning

When we got to the room we found all the milk was finished by a previous customer, the wrappers were in the bowl which wasn’t ideal. We would have loved for this to be restocked. I did have to go out and buy milk for my coffee

The location.comfortable bed.and lay out of room.provided kettle tea and coffee.Good t.v.and remote controls.

The only disappointment was a rat came from underneath the bed and ran to the radiator and ran back after I moved.i was offered another room but decided to stay as I loved the view from the room.The staff did apologise for the vermine.

Was pleasantly surprised to find I had sea view room which was a substantial size aswell, I’d booked a double. The female student receptionist was friendly and helpful, clear check in and check out. Stayed in a few hotels around this area/street and this was the nicest. Appeared nice and clean throughout, you get what you pay for with decor, comforts etc…

Something to help stop the doors slamming after guests going through the hallways? Location of my room maybe that I’d hear it more but it wouldn’t last long. Maybe I’m just a bit more considerate going through hallways. Obviously just a tiny gripe to complain about and something most hotels probably suffer with.

From approx 10.30pm to approx 6.30am there was a loud continuous "buzzing" from either the rooms adjacent or above/below causing a lack of sleep for the two night stay. Mentioned to a member of staff after the first night to be told someone would investigate the following day, not a satisfactory response.

It's all pretty much self service, which for me was ideal. All of the information was provided and really clear explaining where it was, how to access the guesthouse and also the room. It was basic but exactly as described, really clean and really comfortable. I also had a nice sea view too.

The shower was a little tired

Location is great, room was clean and the environment very cozy. Did not see/speak to any of the staff because it was self check-in and out. Everything was good.

It could have been a bit cheaper, for a family room of 4, we thought it was a bit overpriced. might have been due to the ban holiday weekend

Despite the reviews I'd seen, I had a really nice stay here. The room was clean, stocked with tea and coffee, and the bed was really comfortable. I was only here for one night but I would definitely stay again. I also liked the fact that I could come and go as I pleased, without having to leave keys etc. I didn't really get the chance to walk around the whole hotel and explore the building so I can't comment on that.

I'm not sure if it was because of local events but the price was a bit more than I usually pay for a double room in Westminster.

It's a quiet place, nice bed and weather easy to find, a cleaner lady very friendly and professional.

No body is at the reception, how can guest update their stay?

Location , nice and quiet . Just of St James St & short distance to beach / pier This a budget hotel and will provide what you need . The staff where very pleasant and welcoming and opening times for the reception are clearly stated Given some of the derisory comments I must say that the owners must struggle with maintenance , it's an old building and clearly converted many times over , that said it was safe clean & characteristic. If you want the lap of luxury nip down to the front and go to the Hilton / Grand ..however if you intend to explore and are not too fussy Horizon is good ( if not better ) as many other budgets I've stayed it

If you have mobility issues , not for you 50 steps to top rooms be warned

I like the fact that you can check yourself in. Very convenient.

It was fairly dirty in the bathroom and the sink made the whole room smell very bad.
