We paid for the upgrade room which was well worth it for the balcony and view of Marina which as we had fab weather we really enjoyed. Staff were friendly and bar was reasonably priced for drinks, roof top terrace nice place to have a drink. Lots of facilities in the Marina area for eating, drinking and social activities. Car park worked well and was convenient

The room was small and dark and I feel overall it was overpriced for what you get. Our fridge was broken and TV didn’t work (we did get a small discount for this ). Quite a way out from the main area of Brighton but bus stop just over the road (no.7) takes you in centre. If we hadn’t had the marina view/balcony I think I’d have been disappointed

The location is great, and the free parking is a bonus. The room was lovely as were the facilities, nice to have the coffee machine. Great public spaces & friendly staff.

There were some fundamental issues. For example, in the fabulous ensuite, there's nowhere to hang the hand towel, so we had to use one of the hooks on the door. I used the other hook for our bath towels, which meant I had to put my clothes on the floor or on the toilet, not ideal. There wasn't anywhere to put our wash bag. And there's no way I could have done my make-up because there's no way to get near to the mirror. All these things are easily rectified, It just needs a couple of shelves or additional hooks and an extendable mirror. Don't let these comments put you off staying because despite these comments, we had a lovely stay.

Lovely hotel - very modern. Great to have a mini fridge in the room as well as Sky channels on the TV. Spacious room with a balcony for two and a great view of the marina. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom spotless and well proportioned. Received a drinks voucher for selecting not to have the daily room clean. We were only staying two days so made sense for us.

Not really. We had a lovely rainwater shower but it did seem that the shower drainage trap couldn't cope with the amount of water being released. It may have been partially obstructed, but nothing serious that can't be fixed.

The hotel itself, is good. Some of the internal fittings could do with some work. The roll was comfortable, but silly stuff like the bathroom door not closing properly (room 209) let it down. However, all very clean, the bed was comfortable and important for me, it was quiet. Very little noise from other rooms or corridor. We were on 2nd floor and view across the marina and the sea beyond was good. It was February so not much cause to use the bi-fold doors and terrace! Quick comment on food: very good breakfast available (Malmaison pretty consistent on that) and we had a really very good meal in Chez Mal one evening.

The location is tacky. I hadn’t realised how tacky until we got there. Been years since I’ve been to Brighton Marina. Parking is a bit of a pain. Once you get into the hotel, it’s fine.

The hotel was lovely and provided a lovely stay. The staff made our stay so warm and welcoming. Chelsea and Florence are a credit to the Malmaison and they went above and beyond to make us feel very welcome and went as far as upgrading our friends room as they got engaged on our stay in Brighton. They couldn't do enough for us and Chelsea is like a ray of sunshine with all your guests, friendly, warm and very accommodating. We will recommend and stay again for sure. The breakfast each morning was delicious and so fresh. A gentleman from the north of UK possibly Newcastle or Sunderland? I didn't get his name was very welcoming with impeccable service, nothing too much trouble and excellent service every day. Fantastic room with great views and all the amenities required. We loved the bed, and the balcony was an exciting place to watch the waves crashing in from the channel. The restaurant and bar was great - with the staff really friendly and helpful at all times.

Disabled access to the hotel is not great - the boardwalk from the carpark is long and exposed to the elements. On one day, the lifts failed and while staff were kind enough to let us know they didn’t inform us when they were fixed which left us confined to our room for much of the day. The hotel was also short on a range of standard items (coffee pods, extra pillows etc) possibly due to the holiday period.

The housekeeping staff, dining and reception were delightful, polite and friendly. The food was excellent, breakfast perfect. The hotel was beautifully positioned and we weren't disturbed by other guests' doors etc. Room and bed very comfortable, housekeeping staff very helpful. Very accessible parking, and close proximity to bus stop

It would have been helpful if someone could have helped us with our bags on arrival as both a bit immobile and unsure about access to hotel, a small luggage trolley would have helped us not need two journeys carrying bags up in the lift. It was a shame lounge and library facilities were unavailable because of visiting football teams.

The room was beautiful, well equipped and a fantastic view of the harbour. Whilst the hotel is a 30min walk from the pier its worth the walk. We liked the location and was easy enough to book ubers/taxis

Some of the facilities were a little tired. The entrance from the Harbour wasn't inviting, one out of the two lifts was out of order. Coming back to the hotel the residents bar waa closed and limited drinks available The Club Room with sea view was also supposed to come with a bottle of wine or bubbles. As this was a special occasion, this was the sole reason I booked the room. However upon arrival.... no bottle. I spoke with reception and they advised this wasn't something they did and almost seemed too much trouble, despite the advert stating this was a benefit of the room. We eventually managed to get 2 vouchers for a glass of champagne but the attitude was unnecessary. If you advertise a bottle then that should be honoured.

Provision for our dog was really good. Bed, bowl, poo bags and treats provided for him and a ball! Staff were very friendly and food was plentiful and tasty. Lovely room with a great shower and great large outdoor patio which we could let the dog out onto.

There weren't many people in for dinner, and we had to sit in the bar due to our dog (which was fine). After ordering pudding we waited about 30 mins, couldn't find a member of staff, and we were just about to leave when someone arrived with our dessert, apologising. Food was lovely but this meant we felt a bit forgotten!

Great stay at the Malmaison Brighton. Very convenient for the marina. Easy to use the free parking at the multi-storey car park next door. I had a fairly compact double room. Plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits on hand which was nice. Very comfortable bed. And a nice shower.

Breakfast was too expensive at £21. There's a cafe right opposite, Zico I think it was called which did it for under half that. And a Wetherspoons pub at the Marina, same thing a much cheaper option. My bathroom the toilet was in a tiny alcove which didn't leave much space when I sat on it.
