The room was great with a superb front line seaview and the breakfast was excellent.
Given it was Christmas time we were surprised how few staff were around in reception and at the bar...just felt a little dead somehow. There was no-one in the bar area when we tried to get a coffee on arrival...we had to wait for 10 minutes sitting in the reception lounge until the bar staff appeared! Shame as it's a lovely old hotel in a great location.

I took Mum to celebrate her 92nd birthday . The hotel staff were friendly and kind .,they even upgraded us to a nicer room with disabled facilities and lift access to the room . They provided chocolates and a balloon for Mum - was lovely for her . The hotel is sea facing and just across the road - fantastic clean pretty location . I had forgotten my USB plug and a kind friendly maid Casey lent me her’s . The room service was served promptly and was hot and tasty . A lovely experience and would happily return to this hotel !
Sadly whilst we were at breakfast , I mistakenly left a pair of precious earrings on the main table rather than placing them in the safe provided in the room . We returned from breakfast to find the maid cleaning the room . Soon after , the earrings were missing . It’s my own fault really for not placing the earrings in the safe , a lesson learned .

The hotel was beautifully decorated. The staff were very helpful and always had a smile on there face whatever time of day.
We were on the 1st floor but had a flight of steps to walk up to our room which was a bit awkward with heavy luggages. If you bring a car be prepared to never find parking as there were a limited amount of spaces in the hotels private carpark therefore we had to park our car a few blocks away and call for a taxi to the hotel and the same again in the morning to get to the car. Other then that it was a pleasure to stay there!

The hotel lobby, restaurant, bar is quirky with beautiful decor. The rooms are more basic but comfortable. The staff are very welcoming & helpful. We join All.com and received a discount a £10 per night for parking. Breakfast was nice. Location is great, nice walk to the lanes bars & restaurants.
The room could do with the carpet being cleaned there was some stains. Need better lighting around the bathroom mirror, wasn’t a good light to put makeup on. At breakfast there was only fried eggs no scrambled. Also no classic coke at the bar, my husband doesn’t drink zero or Diet Coke with his JD.

The location is great, the foyer area is stunning, the bar is cool, and the breakfast was lovely. BUT, the star of the show here are the fabulous STAFF, from reception to breakfast, even the maintenance guy who we met in the car park - all friendly, polite, helpful and just made our stay a pleasure. Thank you, all. No wonder we keep coming back!
Access to the quite small car park is tricky, and spaces are tight. But if you can get in, it's very convenient for the delights of Brighton and Hove

All the staff were so friendly and professional. Room was immaculate and the beds gave for a really good night's sleep 😴 Hotel was exceptionaly clean and being Christmas season, the decor was Beautiful. Breckfast was lovely and a special mention to the young lady who checked us in to Breckfast that morning, a lovely greeting and very professional. Parking was a little steep, however saying that, it was well worth it as so near to everywhere we wanted to go so worked out OK. Ideal for a week away or an over night stay. Very short walk to the Brighton Centre and also the pier. Would definitely stay again and hoping to return in the spring.
Nothing... it was a lovely hotel

Close to all amenities, reception looks very good Breakfast was very nice with plenty to choose from Staff were very helpful with good local knowledge on where to go
The room is not as presentable as first thought .carpet in room dirty ( stained ) with what looks like coffee, etc .iron burn mark .2 people staying only one dressing gown ( I realise it's not a must ), but if you're going to put extras in a room, please make sure it there is enough for 2 ,not enough coat hangers (3)no drawers to put small iteams, the room is large so may use some off the space Carpets, though, out the areas very dirty & stained. Noticed coffee stain in lift 1st day & was still present on our last day

Location Mist CV of staff were wonderful including Barry and blond genial receptionists . Shawn painter and the housekeeper & head housekeeper we’re marvellous . Asked for more milk and it was brought up very quickly. Given good information re Road closures due to pride and taxi routes .
Twin Room ok , but very very small shower en suite . Strange light on wall outside shower room in bedroom could not turn off ! Room was very hot 🥵 However it was exception weather! . We were given a fan ! Book air-con room in future . Stains in Bedroom and in the bar on carpets . One bar man told us to come back to bar as he was making six cocktails seamed a bit flustered . Banister rails in reception very sticky every day ! To long to wait at bar twice over the four days ( staff kept going missing) . Could not book the parking ahead , & was very expensive, so came on the train in the end .

We enjoyed our stay!! Barry at the front desk..he was amazing host and I am so happy to say that he gave us so much laugh and positive vibes that from there the whole stay was good!! The room was clean, tidy...had everything we needed. The interior was interesting..keeping the idea of an old english hotel!!
I think the only thing that let us down was the 'view' from our verry dirty window...it was just the odd side part of the hotel..so we were seeing some old dirty buildings and the window was wet and dirty from the outside..but this is not a thing for us that can bring a dissapointment overall!

The entire stay was brilliant. Interactions from the very warm welcome all the way to checkout were given the personal touch. Barry who was working on reception, was a very witty and jovial personality who took the time to ensure guests had everything they needed, and gave a lovely compliment to my daughter about her glasses. There was a young lady who was also on reception who showed the utmost professionalism when she was dealing with a quite impatient and rather rude customers adult son. She worked tirelessly to make sure they had their needs met and had a lovely smile the whole way through. The breakfast is fantastic value for money, and again staff are "on it" when it comes to making sure everything is topped up. One male member of staff in particular (English, brown hair) was a great host, having a little laugh with a few of the customers and ensuring the dining area was clean and tidy. He was very quick to spot if guests needed anything and sprung into action when he saw a family with a toddler, grabbing a high chair almost instinctively. The building has a beautifully decorated reception area, bar and dining room, and is in a great spot for anyone in a short break and equally for those staying on business. Our room was nicely decorated and beds were comfy. The fire alarm went off on one occasion (caused by a resident smoking in their room) and again Barry showed great professionalism calmly dealing with the situation and reassuring guests. 307 I will definitely stay here again next time I visit Brighton
Not so much "Didn't like" more constructive feedback. . The areas leading to the rooms are in need of a redecorating. . There was an iron mark on the carpet left from I guess was from a previous guest which could have been covered up with a rug. . House keepers let themselves into our room without knocking 2 days during our stay, even though the system is for guests to put the signs on the door if they need anything. Perhaps they hadn't checked the list of stays and assumed the room has been vacated Fortunately they stopped at the door and apologised when they realised we were in the room.
