Really amazing staff who were super friendly and helpful at breakfast, particularly advising on gluten free options. The shower was great with really powerful water pressure and the bed was huge and very comfortable. Location is great as close to main roads and was helpful for seeing friends in Buckfastleigh

The black out blind on the skylight window didn't close all the way, due to the window handle, meaning there was a strip of light at the bottom. Probably not that much of an issue in the winter, but for early mornings not ideal. Also the room I had was at the top of the building at the end (actually very good as it was quiet) however, with the sloping ceilings, limited headroom in places and quite a small door to enter, not ideal for someone of 6ft 2! Felt like Alice in Wonderland when she grows too large! The bathroom in particular has minimal space due to the ceiling slope. Shorter people won't necessarily have as much of an issue however and the majority of the room is fine

The restaurant and the bar were very comfortable and the menu was varied. The rooms were a ltlle smaller than I expected and the bathroom more so, but as I was working they were adequate. The breakfast was exceptional, very good food and again a varied menu for breakfast.

Size of the room and bathroom were on the small size. Food was good but restaurant very busy, probably due to time of year and as it is on a main roadside they have a lot of passing trade. Trucks at night could be heard, as it is a main road but nothing that I could not put up with.

The Breakfast was excellent with everything you would require, it was extremely appetising and hot. Our room was spacious with a modern bathroom, and was very clean. The staff were amazing, they were friendly, helpful,courteous, and hardworking. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed with friendly and professional staff. It was Zoe the team leader who booked us in, and who made our stay very very special, nothing was too much trouble in her assisting our requirements, of needs and information. We built a special relationship with all the staff, and there were several in particular Danny our waiter, where nothing was too much trouble and he was such a jovial polite courteous young man, with a friendly manner, his work effort was outstanding, as were all, of the other staff we came into contact with, ie Sapphire, who worked in the Bar, what a pleasant hard working young lady, as were Beth, Polly, and Emma. who also attended in the restaurant, in the mornings as well as the in the evenings. Such a well oiled team, one could not fault, their constant non stop work Effort. The kitchen staff who prepared the delicious outstanding meals, where the quality and taste, were of the highest quality, we could not fault it. The ones who worked in the kitchen were Jake, Jackson, and Ryan, and We thank each and everyone of those hardworking employees , who made our stay very special and memorable. Zoe the team leader, who lead the staff, with respect and professionalism, which created that team spirit of a genuine happy courteous contented atmosphere, which added to the ambiance of our week we spent at Dartbridge Inn. We will definitely be returning, we left on a high with a feeling of contentment healthy happy, and relaxed week, however were sad to leave such excellent staff, who we built a friendly report with. .There was nothing NOT to like, it was amazing.

My third visit to this Hotel. Service excellent and friendly. I am a single lady visiting my daughter and grandchildren so very nice to feel safe and comfortable in this environment. Rooms clean and comfortable, with lovely modern bathroom. Heating easy to regulate, making the room comfortable not too hot or cold. Excellent breakfast with very attentive polite staff. So , already booked for my next visit. Value for money also helps. Plus free wifi, and parking.

Creaky floors means you can hear people in the corridors, but as a very old building, not much can be done about this.

The staff, led by Kirsty, were superb all were pleasant, cheerful and professional, the whole experiance was delightful. The room was small but very clean, warm & pleasant and had all the facilities you would expect. The parking for the rooms was around the back of the hotel adjacent to the rooms. Food was very good, exceeded my expectations. Really can't praise the place highly enough, would definitely stay there again.

My only gripe was that the rear car park was a bit messy with piles of gravel here and there, but really this is nit picking, the place and staff are fabulous.

Lovely place, very clean, tasteful decorations. Had a meal there which was really good. Nice quiet tables, spread out well into alcoves and separate areas. Staff were helpful, friendly, and breakfast was also very good with lots of choices. Electric car charging station nearby.

Traffic noise from road is pretty constant. Although the location is actually very convenient if visiting Buckfast. Also, could do with footpaths to go for short walks while staying, especially to the charging station!

it’s location,plenty of car parking spaces, two levels outside, the top level you can walk straight to your room without climbing the stairs and the stairs are only about 20 in total carpeted,the food was excellent, open log fires, the staff were above and beyond, the duty manager could sell sand to a Arab, the restaurant and dining area was very spacious, it was dog friendly, we haven’t got a dog mind. We used this hotel because it was 3 minutes away by car to the polar express train ride, which was excellent, couldn’t fault the venue. Will definitely go there again in the future, the hotel I mean. (travelled couple)

leaving, because it was so relaxing and warm and the staff were great, two log fires and plenty of radiators, which may I say were (on) most of the time.

The walk in shower was superb, good as any we've ever had. Room 8 great, parking great, staff all very friendly/polite, breakfast and evening meal both very good, liked the real mushrooms rather than the normal little tinned button ones at breakfast. Well stocked bar much better than most hotel bars, room better than most hotel rooms in or anywhere near this price range. Great location for a few days around Dartmoor, a trip down to Totnes on the railway and a night out to a concert in Plymouth, plus super easy in and out as right on the A38/M5.

New (presumably) staff member in restaurant was struggling, no drinks for 50 mins, 1st 2 starters I chose were not available, offered we could still have the baked camembert platter with some chips instead of the camembert (Made us laugh, but I suspect some people could get quite angry over such an offer!). Stated they are constantly running out of camembert - so why not constantly buy more! I think this is a one-off training deficiency and we got 20% discount for it from the manager without asking when she noticed there was a bit of a problem, but it also cost them the profit on at least 1 more pint! Also had to wait ages for the barman to turn up when we went in for a nightcap, which was close to losing profit on 2 double disarronnos as well.

Breakfast had a good selection of cooked breakfasts from the menu from an English breakfast to eggs Benedict. I would have liked to have seen a cold option of chilled meats and cheeses? Service was very good from placing the order to having a cooked breakfast served to you hot and delicious. Coffee or Tea was the choice of hot beverages I would have liked the offering of a latte or a cappuccino as they already had a machine at the bar to provide an extra choice even if a small fee was added.I Wi-Fi was a little hit and miss I would like to say ALL the staff at the bar, restaurant, breakfast and The Manager (Liam) were very happy chatty extremely polite and very courteous they all made my husband and very welcome. The cleaner I must add was very good too she cleaned our room each day we were not disappointed. Great location and free parking we will be back to stay again with The Team in Devon.

Wi-Fi was a little slow. Breakfast very good but would have liked to see a cold option of cooked meats and cheeses. I would have liked the option of a cappuccino or a latte they had a machine to do this I would have paid a small fee for this. I do feel elections could've with a lick of paint although clean I felt the room was tired.

Food exceptional and my veggie breakfast contained added veg, spinach, squash, peppers, onions, all beautifully cooked together. My daughter enjoyed avocado on toast, again beautifully cooked and the sourdough toast tasted better than most. Staff friendly, welcoming and helpful. A lovely atmosphere.

May be a self contained shower instead of having to step in to a bath for a shower.
