Sue and Graham were extremely friendly and hospitable. The food was excellent, tasty and fresh, and the room had everything we needed without all the useless frippery you often find! The small kitchen was a bonus for washing up picnic things and there was also a sitting area with books and magazines to read.

The only downside was the steep steps and sill up into the bedroom area from the garden; a grab handle would be useful. There's a steep walk down from the car park but the pub is built on the side of a hill, so nothing to be done about that except maybe warn anyone who is not fully mobile. It wouldn't stop us staying there again.

We stayed here for 3 nights in the middle of our holiday to England and really enjoyed it. Upon arrival Grahame gave us a quick introduction to the Inn and showed us to our room --- and despite us having arrived later than we said (bcs our sat nav got us very lost), and we had arrived unprepared for the remoteness of the area, he very kindly agreed to feed us in the Pub - and what an incredible meal! Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the little treats in our room were so thoughtful and appreciated. The ensuite was bright and spacious and had a very large tub as well as a separate shower. The breakfast served at this Inn is outstanding! Sue is an amazing chef and serves a varied selection of cold and cooked to order choices. My husband said the coffee made by Grahame was one of the best he's ever had. Breakfast was wholesome and plentiful and we couldn't have asked for more. This Inn is centrally located to visit Totnes, Dartmoor National Park, and Dartmouth by car - and the Park and Ride in Dartmouth is reasonable and worth using. An added bonus for us was the ease of car parking here, at the back of the property. The Inn's hosts Grahame and Sue are friendly and helpful and the food served at this Inn and Pub really deserves a special mention.

Things could have been cleaner in the bathroom.

We enjoyed a wonderful 3 day stay at Hunters Lodge Inn. The welcome is warm and genuine. Sue, Graham and Sam were kind, helpful and entertaining hosts. We mixed with the locals who clearly care greatly about their village pub. We ate there each evening - the menu was varied and the quality of the food was excellent. We occupied the “Queen” room which was comfortable and well appointed. The situation is close to Totnes and Dartmouth and convenient for exploring that part of Devon. The frequent train service from Totnes to Plymouth and Exeter is good.

Nothing. The lanes in Devon require care in negotiating.

Large room and large bathroom with huge bath. The breakfast's are very nice and plenty to choose from. Nice busy bar, we stayed Fri and Sat. Big car park at the rear. Park and ride near for Dartmouth. Great round Robin trip from Dartmouth, cruise to Totnes and bus to Paignton and train back to Dartmouth. Graham and Sue great Hosts. Unbelievably they are from where we live in Huddersfield and had pubs there too.

The shower is too small, you can't move when you're in it and we are small people.

With the weather changing for the better we decided to find somewhere around Totnes (with 3 days notice). Nothing doing, then owing to a cancellation we found the Hunters Lodge Cornworthy had a room for the dates we wanted.. We thought it's just a pub it will be fine so we booked it. No it's not, this is an exceptional pub in a small village with an experienced and delightful couple running it. Our hosts Grahame and Sue were a joy to stay with, nothing was too much trouble. They gave us helpful information on the local attractions and how best to get there and which roads to avoid. A delightful country pub with exceptional homemade cooking well above the normal pub standard. A bonus for me was the well kept and well presented real ales. Clean and tidy room well decorated with on suite, nice and quiet at night for a good nights sleep. Tea and coffee making facilities, a small fridge for water and milk. Thanks Grahame and Sue for a wonderful break. We will definitely stay at the Hunters Lodge again.

Lovely start to the day with a full English, quality meats. Very friendly hosts Sue and Grahame, and the locals. Comfortable bed, kettle in the room with a fridge, teas/coffee/chocolate and a full pint of milk, not those little plastic thimbles you get in most hotels - loved this. Spacious clean bathroom. Good dining, and if you are an ale lover, they keep a good cellar, on sale my husband would thoroughly recommend Taylors Landlord, Jail ale and Shipyard.

If you cant reverse difficult to get to, as very narrow single track roads, both to Totnes and Dartmouth.

We were met by Lauren who was extremely helpful, showed us our room, changed our table booking at very short notice, served our dinners, and who was very efficient and nothing was too much trouble, and all done with a friendly disposition. The food was all delicious, especially the breakfasts, all cooked by Sue. Everything was clean and quite comfortable.

We own a holiday cottage and I have also run B&B too, and know how irritating it is to receive negative feedback, which would be better given in person at the time of stay or if minor, not given at all. What’s not to like about a stay in a lovely country pub!

Personal service to a professional standard. Graham and Sue made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. Very comfortable, recently refurbished and well appointed room. Fresh milk in the fridge. Quality biscuits. Guidebooks for the area. Public bar well stocked. Restaurant food and service very good. Breakfast freshly cooked to order. Attractive local walks with lovely views and the only noise is bird song. Easy access to Dartmouth.

Accessing Cornworthy village is via narrow lanes.

The breakfast was well cooked with a good choice of items. We also had the evening meal which was also delicious. We would recommend the hanging kebab! They were willing to be flexible on the accompaniments to the main dish. They were excellent hosts who ensured we had the best stay possible, even upgrading our room choice when they had a last minute cancellation for a superior room.

The only thing that caused a slight problem was our sat nav trying to take us up a road unsuitable for motor vehicles when we were trying to find the property. It is best to put in the village name until you get to the village and then refine to the post code to find it. Internet with our provider was also a bit patchy in the area.

Grahame and Sue was exceptional in their customer service skills, not to mention Sue’s skills in the kitchen. It’s a small bar and restaurant with a blazing fire with a homely feel that makes for a comfortable evening with friendly chats over a large glass of wine. Breakfast in the morning was a treat and not shunned to go off piste, saved the full English for last day and was not disappointed. En suite to our room was large not to mention the bath, which was huge and the shower was constant with hot water.

Having a main road put through from Totnes, which obviously cannot be done and even if it could be, it would totally change the quaintness of this village and therefore it would not be the same. Keep it as is, stunning,
