The Globe was a very family friendly place to stay with lovely clean rooms, extra milk in a mini fridge in the hallway near to your room plus a water machine which was very handy because of the heatwave. The staff were very friendly the breakfast great and we stayed for dinner on one of the nights and the food was excellent and good value for money. You can park for free from 6pm until 9am next door in the car park, otherwise it is £1 per hour. This suited us as were stayed 2 nights and visited lots of beautiful nearby locations.

Nothing for us personally as it was what we wanted, we needed a base for exploring that area.

We were looking for a place at a reasonable price and it fully met our exeptations. In addition the real ale (Dartmoor Jail) was brilliantly kept and the food - tikka curry or lovely steak pie (with english mustard) and really tasty chips - was excellent. The staff were really helpful and friendly particularly the receptionist/barmaid/waitress/porter. The car park behind the hotel is free from 6pm - 9am and pay and display for up to an hour before or after these times. There are longer stay car parks within 3 mins walk and useful shops in less than this.

Nothing really. The room and bathroom were on the small side but what do you expect at such a bargain price.

We had a friendly welcome, and when we asked if we could drop our bags off, they allowed us to check-in early :-). The location was ideal for the South Devon Railway and Buckfast Abbey. Although the pub is located on the main high street, the room was relatively quiet.

The milk was kept in the fridge in the hall, and not in the room - but we weren't advised about this, when we checked in. It wasn't really a problem, as I quickly found the fridge. I was told that although it's UHT Milk, in the hot weather it was going off when stored in the room, so they kept it cool.

It’s In the centre of town, lots of shops and places to eat in. A nice walk we found took us to the top of a hill with beautiful views. All facilities you need in the room including a kettle with hot drink supplies/biscuits. Great food at breakfast we had full English and there was also cereals, juices to have. We had dinner too which was very nice, curry’s lovely burgers, lasagnes, chilli. Really friendly landlord and the other staff were great too, couldn’t do enough for you.

Bathroom in the room a bit dated but other than that was Great.

I received a very courteous and friendly welcome, my room was really comfortable and very clean. I really liked the large walk in shower room. I was able to enjoy a lovely pint in the bar before enjoying a meal in the dining area. For an overnight business trip I would certainly stay here again, many thanks.

As my room was over the bar area there was some noise from the clients but it didn't stop me dropping off to sleep!

Excellent hospitality, room clean and recently updated, breakfast excellent. Claire was a great help when my wife left her iPAD behind.

Could have done with two pillows and a chair of some description in the room. Fully understand this is a lively working pub and was fully expecting the consequent noise until around midnight - the fight between patrons outside did go on quite a bit longer though and very loudly!

Although it was advised that the B&B being at a local pub it could be noisy; we didn't hear any noise and slept well. The mattress was really comfi and the room very clean. Staff very friendly and nice and answered any queries. The village is very pretty and we had view on the main street from the room, Which was very calm and pretty with the sunrise.

The shower was good but nowhere to put towels in the shower room. The water spread all over the floor and I was lucky that it didn't wet my cloth that I left on the floor. The shower rail fell on my head, luckily it was light.

Comfortable beds. Clean room. Nice location near the moor. Tea and coffee in room

A bit noisy outside at night and some noise downstairs. One of the party had someone enter her room at night! (accidentally). Not given instructions on what to do in the morning when leaving, as pub was locked, so had to leave by fire escape.

The breakfast whilst being full english was a good size, clean and well balanced. The room was a good size. All the staff were very friendly and really happy to help in any way. The pub atmosphere was good on the Friday evening too.

Lovely old inn, great atmosphere. Low ceilings and beams added to this, even if they got a bit awkward. Not overpriced considering the other properties in the village. Good beer - including the brew from the prison! Car park at rear, so easy access and cheap. Long stay 200 meters and also cheap.

Although they can't 'improve' on it, the steep stairs and low beams make life a bit difficult for elderly and tall!
