Being able to park near to town was our number 1 priority so location was perfect. We had a twin room which was not large with the 2 bed pressed together - far to close for comfort when sharing with a friend so we separated the beds putting a 2 foot gap between them but this reduced space to move around comfortably. For the price I would expect a twin bedded room to be more spacious but it had a good size TV and a fan and comfortable beds Staff friendly and food tasty - we had breakfast and dinner.

Nothing major. Small details like the light above the framed photos and history of the hotel near the reception did not work so we couldn’t read all the details. At dinner we were not shown to our table and given the drinks menu. We had to ask for it after our food menu was brought. Service was a little disorganised - bread rolls being offered but not arriving for some time. The water glasses were filled and the jug did not pour well and the waitress poured water over the table but it was not dried properly so I mopped the residual water up with a tissue. All small things but all go towards an overall impression of disorganisation.

Every member of the staff we came across was very friendly and helpful. Hotel location is good. Room & bathroom were clean and nicely decorated. Check-in & Check-out was quick and smooth. We were also given access to the room two hours prior to check-in time, which is awesome. Breakfast was good but I think there is room for the improvement in terms of quality of ingredients.

It was quite surprising to hear the person snoring in the room above us! Then at 6am we woke up because the person in the room above us was walking in his room. This means the hotel needs to think about improving the rooms floors because the sound was quite loud.

Would advise caution if booking through booking.com as it’s not clear if you are booking for one of two people. We ended up having to pay extra for breakfast due to this, but the staff were very kind and helpful with this (they said it was actually quite common). Booking.com however were not helpful at all and ignored our request for help

Location is within easy walking distance of buxton Town centre which has lots of lovely bars and resturants. The hotel itself initially comes across a bit dated on the ground floor reminiscent of an old people's home. However, the room we stayed in which was a super deluxe was beautifully decorated, large and comfy and clean. It had a lovley view over the cricket ground. The bed was large and very comfy. In terms of improvements, as 2 people were staying, 2 bottles of complimentary water should have been available rather than 1. I also think that high quality hotels maybe need to look at improving their tea/coffee facilities, whilst we did have a coffee machine there was only UHT milk available. Are there non dairy milk alternatives available? We did also purchase 2 medium sized bottles of water from the hotel which were totally overpriced. We did not have any food at yhe hotel so cannot comment on this. Too many grest places to try in buxton. Would we stay again, yes. Would we recommend yes. However I would look for a cheaper alternative first.

Room was a good size. Bed was large and comfortable. Great shower, lots of hot water. Close to town. Quiet environment. Staff were super friendly. Very clean.

The streaming services on the tv were not working and there was no one around to fix them for the 3 days we were there. Pillows were like concrete to sleep on. Other guests were really the main problem, i.e. a person that sat smoking on the front steps everyday even though there were multiple signs asking people not to. We didn't see anything vegan on the menus so didn't eat there. The soft furnishings seemed old and needed reupholstering.

We had a large room which was in a quiet part of the hotel. Plenty of space and storage. Bathroom was great. Enjoyed breakfast which had plenty of options. Parking on site was good. Bar area pleasant.

Bit of an uphill walk back from town but not too far. Bar area was quiet in evening and was in darkness when we returned from having a meal in town. We found the barman sitting in the dark so not sure if he was happy to serve us or was hoping for an early night (although this was around 9.45pm).

The property is located nicely about a 12 minute walk to the town centre. Comforable rooms with sufficient storage. Bathrooms were a bit small but reasonably modern, with a good shower. Photos of the property and the rooms are better than actual, so expectations need to be managed. Staff were very nice and helpful. Good wifi signals throughout the property.

Based on the pictures of the property, we were expecting something better.

Room was spacious, dinner was excellent and the breakfast was superb, We pr=paid for dinner and the choice was fantastic, the wine with the pre-paid was not limited to just a cheap house wine but to any wine sold by the glass. My wife and I both opted for the NZ Sauvignon which was fantastic. Breakfast was outstanding with thick cut bacon, meaty sausage, soft fried egg, quality baked beans and a crisp hash brown - outstanding.

We stayed in the superior room in the annex which was very roomy, great view, extremely comfortable, large bed and nice and quiet. Bathroom was also large and the whole suite was very clean. Breakfast was great, lots of choice from the continental buffet and a great cooked breakfast cooked to order. The staff are absolutely fantastic. The only reason the overall score for the hotel isn't a ten is because we didn't have dinner, so next time we will!

The staff couldn't have done any more for us, the breakfast and main meal were delicious and I'm fussy with food! The room was clean, comfortable and just what we needed for a couple of days trip. The location was perfect for heading into Buxton, I would recommend heading from the back of the hotel down the main road so it's not as hilly! Thank you so much to the amazing staff!

The only thing we could fault was the weather! Typical rainy England.
