The room was light and airy and well equipped. It was also clean and did not feel 'dated' or in need of decoration. The bed was firm but comfortable. The breakfast buffet was more than adequately stocked and constantly being re-stocked as required. The choice for both continental and hot breakfasts was really good, varied and appetising.

The carpets in the communal areas appear to be in need of up-dating or cleaning. The decoration generally though was of a good to high standard and the rooms attractive and comfortable as you would expect of a Novotel. Check in was fine but the person who checked us in was not terribly welcoming and we suspected might be a trainee and therefore still learning how to operate systems while interacting with quests ? There was no information in the room about the hotel facilities, meal times etc. It is supposed to be on a welcoming screen when you turn on the TV but there is very little information (Reception and Restaurants - and no phone numbers) and no indication how you access the TV data ! A brief fold out card of hotel information would be very useful.

The reception area is lovely , very welcoming, feels very grand & staff are lovely and friendly. The room was a nice size and bed was comfy for a good nights sleep. Fan already in the room which we needed for the warm weather too. Restaurant was nice & the breakfast was yummy

The only downside was the rest of the hotel (i.e corridors etc) look like they need some TLC. The reception is so lovely and the rooms are finished to a nice standard that the corridors that are battered & carpet stained looks like it needs redecorating but this doesnt take away from it being a nice hotel & having a comfortable stay

perfect location for what we needed , glad it had a bar as not much around the vicinity, rooms were ok plenty parking spaces.

our friends room (439) air con not working so tried leaving the window open but traffic noise from motorway is constant , they did get supplied a fan for the next night , our room (440 ) we got the noise of the fans on the roof again with the window open and closed started from about 5am I'm hard of hearing and even I struggled , make sure you take id if you want to pay cash for your stay ( I kid you not ) what is the world coming to., I did request when booked a ground floor bit didn't get it but they have a lift so not to bad

Staff very helpful and thoughtful - they enabled me to access my boarding pass, going the extra mile. They helped me to change rooms. Room well prepared. Hotel very well designed. Location accessible to major routes yet quiet.

Didn't expect a noisy group of people in the room next door which was "separated" by a connecting door. Talking would have been fine, but there were raised voices at times and the odd squeal. This made me feel uneasy, although, to be fair, they quietened down around 10.30pm. I moved rooms because of this, and room 2 was much better! As a committed Christian, I expected to find a Gideon's Bible in the room. May I ask for a Bible next time? This would be much appreciated please.

We arrived to a lack of reception staff for 15 minutes. When we went for bar food we were greeted by Jodie who was absolutely wonderful. She sorted out our food for the evening meal, which went over and beyond expectations. The room was satisfactory, with a large shower. The sofa bed wasn’t very comfortable and during the early hours we could hear people talking in other rooms much louder than I would have expected. Breakfast and once again looked after by Jodie and crew. Lots of choice, no waiting, thoroughly enjoyed.

No one to greet us on arrival and no way to make them aware we were waiting.

Stayed before and were treated to a free room upgrade so we had quite high expectations, generally these were met, staff are usually friendly and helpful, breakfast was good. Room and bathroom were clean.

My main issue really were that for some reason our room had no extra pillows so we just had the one each (which was quite thin) when really we needed 2, usually there are some but I think they forgot to put some extras back in the room. The bed felt a little small for a queen room too. It was too late to bother going down to reception or ringing for some pillows by the time we got there and realised. On a previous visit we were upgraded to an executive suite for free and I don't think I expected the difference between that and the Superior Queen room to be so vast, it felt more like an average double than a superior queen room.

The room was lovely. Very modern, up to date decor. Very comfortable bed.

This is a problem I wrote about over 10 years ago; the separate toilet has no hand wash basin. You have to go into the bathroom to wash your hands; too bad if it’s occupied!! The whole place looks as if it has been recently re-fitted and yet still no hand wash facility. Even a hand sanitizer on the wall would be an improvement (the toilet cubicle is probably too small for a wash basin anyway). After all we’ve been through with Covid and the importance of hand washing (not just for Covid!!), I’m surprised that Novotel hasn’t done something about this glaring fault.

Room is clean and spacious, lighting was good, the bed is extremely comfortable! I even checked what brand the mattress was, but it seems it is a tailor made brand by Novotel. The room itself was fully equiped with a flat screen tv, hair dryer, small fridge, a kettel, free coffee tea and enough clean towels! It would be even better with an extra blanket! Staffs are friendly! They offered free welcome drinks too! Car park is spacious. With air-conditioning and pet-friendly, I have no complain and will choose to stay here next time I travel to Nottingham!

Room was less more than we expected. Breakfast excellent. Beds very comfortable.

I bit of a mix up with door key. Given one which turned out to already in use by someone else (ie. case already in room). Reception then had to change the room to a twin which was not original booking but OK. Asked if it was the same price and was told Yes which seemed surprising. Friends of ours who booked the Novotel after us were given an upgrade when they booked in before us (we were delayed due to traffic on the M5) which we were never offered!

We needed a stop-off break in the middle of our journey and decided to go with this hotel. The staff were so friendly upon arrival, and asked us if we needed dinner in the restaurant. We had already eaten but the food smelled delicious. The bar looked lovely too. Our room was very spacious, the bed was super comfy! My best night's sleep out of the 5 day trip. The hotel is located about a 5 minute drive away from an Asda, Tesco, McDonalds and KFC, handy if you need any essentials or food. We really enjoyed our stay. Great value for money.
