It is very conveniently located and offered us the accommodation that we needed for an overnight b&b. We were upgraded to a junior suite with a bath in the bedroom. Very helpful, pleasant staff and an excellent breakfast with our dog in the conservatory, and I was able to park my car securely in the underground car park (for an extra £10.0).

It's all a little jaded and could do with refreshing. We had requested fresh milk in the fridge, but it wasn't there, and we had to ask for it. Also, a dearth of decaffeinated coffee capsules and tea bags.The bed was old and creaking and not comfortable; the mattress was smaller than the frame. It looked like 2 beds shoved together with the hard edges of the 2 mattresses down the middle. Probably one of the worst beds we have experienced for quite a while. It was hard to fathom the controls for the shower, which also could use a good clean. We stayed here some years ago when the hotel had a different name; it was then the height of chic luxury, but it has fallen some way from that time.

The hotel is excellently located for the most picturesque parts of Cheltenham - easy walking distance to Montpellier and the Promenade, as well as Pittville and the Holst Museum. It's beautifully decorated, and manages to have an atmosphere that is both cosy and grand at the same time. Travelling as a solo female I felt both safe in the area and very well looked-after by staff - my room-upgrade was delightful and I would definitely come back here.

The food wasn't as good as I'd expect from a four-star hotel - the dressing on my salad had so much raw garlic in it that I could still taste it a day later (I didn't have time to ask for something else as I had a theatre ticket and needed to get out of the door). The breakfast was rather sub-par as well - gristly sausage, fatty and undercooked bacon, and tasteless black pudding. Also there was something weird going on with the lights in my room - they turned themselves on 15m after I'd gone to sleep, and came on again at 5.20am.

We stayed here for one night as a weekend away in Cheltenham. The staff were very friendly and tried to accommodate our needs. The communication with the hotel beforehand was very prompt and any questions we had were answered quickly. The location was very good ,close to bars and restaurants. We were a short walk from the main shops and parks. The breakfast was very nice and provided a good choice. Two of the guests needed to change a part of their breakfast and this was dealt with quickly.

We had booked four rooms and although we were more than happy with three of them ,two of the party had a much smaller room than the rest of the party and found the room not to be of the same standard .

The location is ideal for visiting Cheltenham in the wonderful Montpellier district (almost parallel with the Ivy restaurant) with its many beautiful buildings. This hotel is a very short walk to the shopping area, and the lovely Tivoli cinema (worth a visit for a special occasion) Our room was amazing with the biggest bath, and powerful shower within the room. Spotlessly clean, large comfy bed and nice coffee machine with espresso. Good quality shower/hand wash too. The breakfast was very good quality and plenty of choices. We also had the 3 course option, within our booking through Booking.com which was definitely worth the money...we also had a free upgrade on our room, so that was also a bonus. The staff are all friendly and seem to enjoy their jobs. Plenty of parking underground, cost of £10 per day, possibly £5 street permits?

Would have preferred more clarity with our half board options as the servers did seem to know, possibly because of the many different offers.

Service was very good. We didn’t have meals there.

The room was very small - cleverly described as cosy but had very little storage space. We were happy to save on maid service in exchange for a medium glass of wine but were dissatisfied that cups weren’t washed and replacement water not provided until we asked. Also the sink appeared semi blocked although the shower was ok.

Everything, we went for my partners birthday, we were given a up grade on arrival And a complimentary glass of fizz 😀 The lady on the reception was lovely, in fact I would say one of the most nicest receptionist, that we have had to greet us on arrival at any hotel we have stayed in. Excellent welcome. We had room service in the evening and the food was excellent Followed by an amazing breakfast in the morning Thank you Malmasion for looking after us so well We will definitely be back again

What a lovely hotel. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful. The room we had was lovely and we took the option to not have room cleaning in exchange for free drinks from the bar. This allowed us to lie in undisturbed for four nights for a truly relaxing stay. The bar and terrace is lovely and there is a great menu with something for everyone. The location is perfect for browsing the shops of Cheltenham.

From the moment we arrived the staff (Freddy and Lena on reception) were really friendly and professional. Our friends and ourselves got a free upgrade to a deluxe suite which was fantastic. Kamil in the restaurant and bar was really knowledgeable and the service was second to none. The food was fantastic cooked by Carlos. Also Debbie from housekeeping was really helpful and propt when I needed another towel.

central location, nice rooms b

rooms are tiered in need of a update ( furniture wise) and better lighting I had to do my make up over by the window and the mirror in the room had no light near it . bathroom is a bit dark too , this hotel needs a general spruce up, so I’d say slightly to expensive , breakfast is lovely.

Location and parking on site. Pet friendly, close to parks. Spacious room with space for our own dog bed. We were able to stay on a room only basis and were therefore able to breakfast at our favourite venue without paying for a meal we didn't take.

Bath a little small. Toiletries in the theft avoidance bottles placed high on wall, which made them inaccessible when sitting down in bath. Lighting system difficult to work out.
