The staff were amazing, very friendly & accommodating & took care of my needs, the room was beautiful and the bathroom just wow! Breakfast was absolutely gorgeous and exceeded my expectations

The room to have a fan (it was the hottest ever day) i rang reception for one which was delivered but it was tiny & pretty useless Cobwebs above curtains (not hard to reach to clean either!)

Very pleasant old Georgian building in well tended grounds including beautiful gardens. All the staff, without exception, were hard working and attentive. The restaurant provides a distinctive menu. The cod was flaky and flavoursome. Risotto perhaps a bit small. Good choice of breakfast.

I do not wish to censorious. Trying to install modern facilities such as showers in old buildings always presents problems. Up to a point, Rowton Hall has coped with this. Actually I would always prefer this sort of building to the soulless modern muti-corridor, multi-level establishment. But please make allowances.

Upgraded to a lovely room. The staff were very polite.

Toilet flush wasn't working properly so we were upgraded. Still problems with the flush but not as bad. Carpet stained - needed a good shampoo. Waiting on staff were lovely but they were not pro-active. They require proper training. No-one at the bar when we required service and they disappeared when drinks were served. At breakfast no cereal bowls (we had to ask). Plates were not cleared away although when we finished eating we were asked if we'd like more tea/coffee! Payment was taken off twice and we are still waiting for it to show in our account. Two lady receptionists were excellent. Guy on the desk when we checked out was a bit abrupt. Thought it didn't seem to matter that we'd been charged twice!!

The staff are exceptional in all areas of the hotel and spa. A really efficient and friendly team! We had standard rooms and they were good. The beds and pillows are very comfortable - best pillow I have had in a hotel room. The spa facilities are really well laid out and super clean. The gym is well equipped - a great range of up-to-date CV machines in a lovely room looking onto a pretty lawned garden. We ate in the bar. A good range of food choices and a laid back atmosphere. The grounds of the hotel are really well kept. The whole experience left us feeling serene and restored.

The only issue we had was with the shower controls. We couldn't find any instructions on them to indicate water temperature or how to even turn them on. We were faced with a layered set of two buttons which looked very neat but we just turned, pulled and pushed before water appeared. It was very hot until we figured out how to control the flow and temperature. Probably just us and maybe obvious to others.

We stayed at Rowton for a friends wedding. The grounds were very well presented, the facilities were fabulous, the drinks were fairly priced, the spa facilities were very well enjoyed the following day to be able to relax The food we had was lovely and the waiting on staff and the wedding host also did an amazing job

Minor things - the shower head to the tray meant a tall person wouldn’t be able to stand under the shower We paid £14.95 for the breakfast and granted there was plenty of choice from the menu and the buffet style but then to pay an additional £5 for a full English wasn’t expected or explained or advertised anywhere and I would have just it rather been included in the price My only one negative from the stay was the gentleman behind the bar - he was so rude and even told a friend she wasn’t welcome in the bar, we were made to feel like it was an effort for him to make a drink and his attitude wasn’t very friendly at all The service behind both bars was very very slow meaning a large que gathered all evening

The room was spacious and very comfortable. The bathroom was large with both shower and bath options. I loved the design of the furniture. There was a fold up wicker stand which was a nice touch and lots of coffee and tea sachets. I was really impressed with the lamps. I love the Old Manor House feel of the place with its wooden panelling. The reception and staff were very friendly and helpful . The hotel has attractive ground to walk in and the patio/fountain area is beautiful and relaxing.

The breakfast was disappointing as the Full English Breakfast option was a £5 supplement and other 'good' breakfast items also cost an extra supplement - after paying for what was described 'a good breakfast' I had to settle for a sausage 'Butty' or a choice of limited eggs items - any good egg choices carried an extra supplement of £5 to £8. There was an alleged choice of cold meats and chees but you had to specifically ask for them as they were stored in the kitchen. The 'continental' options were okay.

The garden is amazing - full of the most beautiful flowers. Staff very helpful and friendly. At dinner the starters and most of the main course, particularly the meat, were excellent. At breakfast the porridge and coffee were particularly good and there was a good choice of food.Bedroom was spacious, nicely decorated and bed very comfortable.

Yorkshire pudding very over cooked. Desserts too sweet and chocolate brownie unnecessarily doused in caramel sauce. But these aspects didn’t spoil what was overall a lovely comfortable stay.

Hotel was amazing!!! I stayed on a long weekend break celebrating my wife's 40th, along with my wife's guide dog George. Our room was huge and well decorated and well furnished with a comfortable seating area and a king size bed to die for. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds with a mixture of mature woodlands and large fields. Rowton Hall is dog friendly and canines are very much welcome. Our Guide Dog George proved to be a real hit with the incredibly helpful and very friendly staff who treated him like royalty, even cooking him his own breakfast and providing him with bonio dog biscuits every time we passed reception. Breakfast was a leisurely affair with a fantastic mix of continental and the full Cheshire hot breakfast. Its not shown on the menu, but ask for hash browns which we're the best hash browns ever tasted (you heard it here first😉) I can honestly and without hesitation recommend Rowton Hall and rate it far higher than any of the large chains such as Hilton, Marriot, Raddison etc. The customer experience was amazing and the staff were genuinely excellent. I have never said this about any hotel ever before, but I can honestly say we will definitely be back.

Absolutely nothing

Problem with the first room in that the maintenance’s guy couldn’t fix easily so they promptly moved us to another room which I was relieved about and we could then relax and get on with our stay. Loved the spa area (just check it’s all open if you’re booking a nights stay as sometimes it’s closed for maintenance…which would be disappointing). Bar area and outside seating was lovely (lucky we had a sunny evening) and the restaurant too was worth it. Staff were all nice, lovely food and same again at breakfast. Ample food choice, cater for GF and just very relaxing overall. We’d definitely stay again……the bed was super comfortable and the free spa area (you just need to book a slot) was great.

Yes as others have said the decor is a bit tired here and there but to be fair they were replacing windows and so are spending money on the lovely building so that’s good to see.

The room was beautiful, looking out to the garden the views was gorgeous. Breakfast was lovely, the decor inside was extraordinary. The room was quiet and bed was super comfortable. The staff was more than friendly and happy to help at whatever we needed. The spa was accommodating for last minute treatments and we had amazing relaxing back massages. Followed by lunch in the outside area before leaving. We would definitely come back here.

The spa was sadly a little dated, the pool water was freezing. But we had lovely treatments otherwise.
