We stayed in room 22 which overlooked the car park but was very quiet. Room was very clean and well equipped and en-suite shower room was excellent. We had tea making facilities in the room and the staff always agreed to provide us with some fresh semi-skimmed milk for our tea in the evening and first thing before breakfast. The breakfast was excellent with a wide range of branded cereals, fruit juices, marmalade, jams and honey plus yoghurts. We enjoyed freshly cooked breakfasts with sausage, bacon, baked beans, fried or poached eggs, mushrooms, hash browns plus toast and tea. The view from the restaurant out towards the Dee estuary was stunning and you could never get tired of it. We also had one evening meal at The Ship which was excellent and lunch when our two sons joined us which was also great. All in all a great place to stay and we will definitely be back.

I felt comfortable and relaxed here straight away. The pub and restaurant are so cosy and atmospheric, with lots of different sitting areas. I noticed all the lovely, good quality prints and pictures, a lot of them with maritime themes, on the walls. The woodwork everywhere is beautiful. The outside areas also look great for a good day, with fantastic views, but the weather was too rainy for sitting there during my stay. The food was really good. My room was spacious, comfy, cosy and clean. The place was a breath of fresh air and welcome relaxing respite, after staying a few days in a row in much less comfortable accommodation, and the price was reasonable, too. I would love to stay here again.

Just a minor room for improvement, in the bathroom: the shower head, tiles and edges had a bit of mold around them. Otherwise my room and bathroom were spotlessly clean.

I liked almost everything about the hotel.

The only thing I did not like was the canned music. I don't know why you would choose to have tinny pop music blaring into every public space. It causes a lot of discomfort and inhibits conversation and clearer thought. I left the bar early because I couldn't stand it any longer. In effect, you lost a bit of income because of this noise. Not everybody likes music and not everybody likes pop music. I really don't know why shops, cafes, restaurants and hotels think that a perpetual cacophony of strident, metallic noise is a good idea.

Friendly and speedy check-in. Lovely space in the pub and great outdoor areas with views over the estuary. Comfortable room with nicely refurbished bathroom. Good evening meal, excellent local beer. Breakfast buffet had a good choice of pastries and fruit and tea and coffee were plentiful - and they had oat milk.

Obviously some rooms have better views than others and ours wasn't great - but we hadn't specified sea views so didn't necessarily expect one. The only slightly disappointing thing was the cooked breakfast - we came down about 8.45 so not early, but the bacon and black pudding had been kept hot too long and were a bit hard.

A really great and well maintained pub with rooms above. The food offering at dinner was excellent We had a fresh and well presented roast dinner. Loads of other mains as well. The staff were really friendly, despite it being an extremely busy Bank Holiday weekend. All of the staff we met were chatty and happy to help. The room was very clean, well presented. Teas and coffees, including decaff available in room. The breakfast was also good quality. Despite going down ten minutes before breakfast service began, the staff welcomed us, explained that the chef was still finishing kitchen prep, but offered hot drinks, cereal, and juices right away. The views across the salt marshes were amazing. A great little find. We will look forward to a return.

As soon as we arrived we were welcomed by the staff. We had messaged ahead as wanted to check in early. Nothing was too much trouble Our room was beautiful with a view across the estuary. All the staff from check in to breakfast were lovely. Especially the young guy behind the bar. He was friendly, polite and funny. He helped us get a table sorted to eat in the evening as we had forgotten to book one and the restaurant was full. Only stayed one night. Will definitely stay again

The whole thing. It is a lovely place with a great atmosphere. The view over to wales from the veranda is special indeed. The food was excellent and so was the service and staff. We’d definitely stay again.

The only issue we had was it was sooo hot in the room even with all the windows open as we stayed during a hot spell of weather and we were on the top floor under the roof. There was a fan provided which helped but there was nothing the hotel could do as it was out of their control.

When we arrived on Wednesday 11th October I found I had mistakenly booked for the night of 12th October. Luckily for us there was a room available and the manager on duty was able to transfer my erroneous booking to the night of the 11th October. This was service you hope for but rarely receive. So thank you to your exceptionally helpful staff for doing something they strictly speaking obliged to do as it was my mistake. The hotel is now well furnished in terms of facilities and environment and clearly have staff who understand customer service

The whole experience of visiting The Ship was great. We only stayed overnight for a family wedding but the room was very comfortable and the breakfast was fabulous with plenty of choice and high quality products. The decoration throughout the hotel was lovely and the view across the estuary was beautiful.

The only thing we didn't like was the fact we only stayed one night and didn't get a chance to explore the area a little more as it looked outstanding.

It was very clean and newly refurbished attention to details in the room. Location for our weekend events was excellent and food and drink selection and quality was good.

Central heating went off too early in the evening and came on too late in the morning making the room cold when both going to bed and getting up (both mornings were frosty outside). There was a portable electric heater in the wardrobe which helped but not an environmentally friendly solution.
