Great communal kitchen where you could pick up basic breakfast, cutlery, crockery and glasses for use in room. Room was really clean and very well equipped including unsuited shower and loo. Greeted warmly on arrival in person by Ian who provided all necessary information and was clearly available should any contact be required and responded immediately by text when I had a query about departure. Melissa servicing rooms was just brilliant. Really friendly, welcoming and flexible and an integral part of the whole experience that ensures that this place is a warm home from home. Will be back at some point and will look forward to it. Thank you.
Nothing really. Loved being left to come and go as I pleased. All very quiet. Other guests plainly on premises but never saw anyone. Great place to stay at a very reasonable price.

The owner of the hotel was so lovely and helpful, there was a car park and the hotel is situated a very short walk from the shops and restaurants in Holywell. The room was lovely and spacious with a very comfy bed. The bathroom was great and toiletries were provided. There was a kitchen just down the hall where you could cook your own meals and help yourself to toast and cereal. There were teas and coffees in the room and a fridge. There is also a lovely roof terrace to sit on when the weather allows!
Nothing, it was brilliant!

As this is an old Hotel undergoing renovations from the inside out, our first impression was one of regret as it is very ordinary looking from the outside. Once we were shown to our room on the first floor we were pleasantly surprised as the room was recently renovated and was very comfortable and modern looking. Parking was in the yard at the rear of the Hotel and the Hotel looks straight down the main street. Breakfast was available as a get it yourself style in the community kitchen. Lounge area to use on ground floor.
First impression of outside. No lifts.

Booked at short notice....location for what we wanted was good, simple booking process, very competitive, Ian messaged late afternoon for our eta and was there to meet us and show us to our room...it was fine, tea n coffee facilities, TV on wall, en suite shower room...bed was comfy enough softer than ours but fine, it was quite warm at night but a tower fan was in room. Terrace to sit out at back. Access to a kitchen with usual kitchen facilities...we could not get onto the WiFi wouldn't connect at all but not an issue as we used mobile data. Thnx
Can't complain really

I loved the vic it was the best place iv stayed due to the fact it was like staying in a nice big house it is a big old style building in the room you can’t hear anyone next door it feels like your in there on your own i loved it there and will definitely be staying again but on top of all this the owner Ian is the nicest man you could ask to meet a properly decent man I would rate it better than any holiday inn travelodge etc for privacy and comfort the room layouts are very big and open I will be staying again and would recommend it to everyone

The location was good - a short walk to many shops including a Tesco, a couple of pubs, and a few takeaways. Parking was on site and free. The room had plenty of plugs, a wardrobe space, and a good bath/shower. The bed was really comfortable too.
The only thing I didn't like was the squeaky floorboards and thin walls - so I tried not to disturb others, but I (as I usually do) wore earplugs to sleep so wasn't disturbed myself. In fact the bed was so comfy I had a great nights sleep.

The location, friendly welcome with local knowledge and directions given. There is a nice outdoor seating area, plus a kitchen on the first floor. Lovely en-suite. Really enjoyed my stay.
Handy for the buses, very handy, which I was using to get around, although the sound of the bus engines idling for about 5 - 10 minutes at the bus stops outside became a bit unpleasant, but not the fault of the hotel which is very well situated right in the centre of the town.

Ian, the owner was a great host. Very welcoming and friendly. The hotel is right in the town and was easy to find. Parking was free and sited just to the rear of the hotel. There was a fridge in my bedroom. There was also a fully equipped kitchen that was available 24/7. Milk, cereals, bread, tea and coffee were freely available to use. There was a comfortable, large, quiet, lounge downstairs with tables and settees. There was a very large TV in this area for guests to use.
The only negative thing I could say is that the whole hotel was too hot... even though the weather was not particularly hot. Luckily a fan was supplied in the bedroom and it was possible to open the window. Without those things it would have felt pretty uncomfortable.

I would certainly recommend this hotel. It offers exceptionally good value... Large, comfortable rooms, comfortable beds and linen. Decor is basic but tasteful and in very good repair. Good position and parking provision. Kitchen was well stocked. A problem with the door lock was promptly and equitably resolved by a room upgrade.
The building is old (but generally in good repair), so floors are creaky and sound insulation is poor. Hence, there was briefly some noise near midnight when some guests returned and spent time in the kitchen. Tip: ask for a room away from the kitchen. Holywell town centre is very tired and has certainly seen better days, but I never felt unsafe.

Hotel was spacious, the room was large enough for my needs, suitable sized desk for a bit of work before turning in and a separate cupboard/wardrobe available had it been needed. Short walk to the high street straight out the front door. Friendly and helpful staff. Quiet location. Was staying while passing through from a couple of events as a halfway point to break the drive up, but would quite happily book again and enjoy a longer stay.
