This is a really special little hotel….extremely well run and Beautifully kept. There was no scuffed paintwork or tired looking bedroom. The room was spacious, immaculately clean and inviting. The bed linen was crisp and white ..as were the bath towels which were massive and fluffy. the bathroom was large and the shower was hot and powerful. Breakfast next door was delicious ( I had eggs with avocado on toast and my husband full English) Both a plateful and served hot with a smile. Would I stay again. Absolutely no question about it. Massive yes.

Nothing. From the instructions received a few days before explaining how to access the building/ bedroom ( hotel has no reception so keypad entry system) it all runs like clockwork. The lack of reception staff doesn’t mean queries not resolved however. We had one re the heating…within seconds of contacting we had a call back and physical visit about 20 minutes later. Absolutely brilliant service.

The Tithe Barn Hotel is a fabulous place to stay, the rooms are luxurious & very spacious that have ample storage for your clothes, a super sized bed that gets a 10 out 10 for size & comfort. Bathroom is also very spacious & well presented and have to add the whole room was spotlessly clean on arrival & serviced during our stay. Location is perfect for going in to town during the evening, also within a stones throw of local shops & eating establishments. Perfect too for exploring the north west area of The Lake District & beyond. Parking is nearby, secure & easy. Breakfast was served at the Veeva café next door but one which serves a very good selection of freshly prepared food options to get you off to a really good start to the day with great service.

This property, facilities, breakfast exceeded our expectations. It is a totally devine property and our room was amazing. Huge bathroom, huge comfortable bed and very well decorated and looked after, you can tell no expense has been spared here. We even got a hand delivered anniversary card from the hosts, which was very much appreciated and very kind of them. We are going to go to their other property in Penrith at some point as we were so impressed. The breakfast in the cafe next door was absolutely excellent too. Would absolutely return here again as the location is perfect also.

Really easy check in, free parking sorted by the hosts and breakfast included at the Veeva! Cafe next door. Great location, super clean and the room we had was just gorgeous! The bed was super comfy, the bathroom was just gorgeous and sooo clean and we loved the little touches like fans and plenty of mirrors! Cockermouth itself is also super lovely with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. We stayed here for 2 nights on our trip to the Lakes and I'm so glad I booked here. If and when we venture up to the Lakes again, I will definitely be booking here again.

The room was really comfortable and clean. I would love that bathroom. We also thought the hanging space behind the bed head was a really clever idea. Breakfast at Veeva was great. Staff there were really helpful and friendly. We thought it was a great idea to focus attention on the accommodation and then food being done by someone close who does a really good job of food. The location was excellent, too. Just around the corner from the car park and within easy reach of restaurants and the Wordsworth House. We would recommend The Tithe Barn.

We would have loved aircon in the room (we were in room 8). It was quite warm in there which the provided fans struggled to keep up with a bit.

Stunning, well decorated room with comfortable bed and all amenities you would need for a couple of nights away. Great location near to centre and local attractions.

whilst pre warned about the noise levels from the bar pre 11pm these were not an issue in comparison to the travelling sound from other rooms above the ground floor. We would recommend having the floorboards looked at and secured more as movement caused these to constantly creek and woke us up whenever other guests walked around. Also, the weather was hot and this caused the heat in the rooms to be too much. We struggled to get good nights sleep as a result, even with the supplied fan turned on (which only added to the noises). You can tell no expense was spared when renovating, but aircon was missed here.

The room was lovely and very clean. We didn’t have breakfast that’s was included as it didn’t open until 9am and we wanted to be off for 8am to get a full day in the lakes. Cockermouth itself is not the best. We traveled to Keswick everyday as there was much more going on and it was lovely. 15 minute drive away, it’s a good base but wouldn’t stay in Cockermouth if you want to do lots! Unfortunately the room was on the ground floor and it was noisy on our first night (no fault of the hotels, just some very rude guests above us) the second night new guests was there and although we could still hear some noise it wasn’t as bad as they were respectful. It’s more hoping you get good guests if you stay on the ground floor. It’s an old building though , it’s to be expected. Would have loved to stayed at the top with it been our honeymoon but it was full. Lovely clean place though and very tastefully done inside. Owners was helpful when we rang about the noise, we came back to a bottle of wine in our room. Would recommend all in all and I would stay again too.

The hotel is fabulous. Exceptionally clean and Extremely comfortable. The self check in and check out was so easy. The shower was really good and the Bed was perfect! Breakfast in the nearby cafe was also very good and all staff are very nice, welcoming and friendly. Like the idea of joint working with another local business, well thought out. Very impressed! Parking in the nearby carpark was also very good and the fact that the hotel registered your vehicle registration number so you aren't issued with a ticket is great. Its also only a stones through from the hotel. Cockermouth itself was a little disappointing, however its also not too far a drive to Keswick which is amazing. Having said that we did arrive on a Bank holiday, so a lot of the places were closed which you would expect, we spent our following days sight seeing in other popular areas, so maybe didn't give Cockermouth much chance. I liked everything about this place, what a fantastic Hotel!! it's in a great position in Cockermouth close to shops, restaurants and bars. Although there is a bar around the corner it shuts early so after 11pm you don't hear anything. Wasn't sure about a self check in hotel as never stayed in one before but the owners have got it just right, easy check in, carpark just around the corner and cafe for breakfast two doors away. The staff at the Veevo cafe were very friendly and helpful and the breakast and coffee were yummy. Stayed in room 5 the Kingsize bed was huge and comfy and the room and bathroom was very spacious, the room was beautifully decorated with a mix of modern and traditional quality furnishings and spotlessly clean This is the nicest B&B /Hotel I have stayed in during all my stays in the Lakes The owners should be proud of themselves, and always respond quickly to any queries you may have. If you are going to Cockermouth don't look any further than the Tithe Barn Hotel it's fab and we will definitely be back, wouldn't stay anywhere else whilst visiting Cockermouth.

Very safe and secure locking system to get into the property and rooms. You can tell no expense was spared kitting them out.. bed and bedding were absolutely dreamy! Towels were great quality, even the carpet was lovely to walk on. A nice touch having magazines to borrow in the hallway. Parking just around the corner with plenty of spaces. Breakfast was delicious and great service - having it at the cafe means it can be provided without having to run a kitchen, keeping costs down and making the luxurious rooms affordable. Great location in the town, Sainsbury’s over the road and William Wordsworth’s house a couple of minutes walk away (worth a visit if you have an hour). A truly comfortable, refreshing and enjoyable stay. 100% recommending to friends/family.
