easy parking ,stunning views , excellent standard of food ,good beer ,quality bedding great bed .
small attic room low ceiling very cramped accessed by tiny steep stair ,felt like room in a BnB . Internally the hotel which has one lounge area is packed with quests , far too many for the size of the property in my opinion . Dinner and breakfast is a military style operation (2 dinner sittings ) with the efficient staff serving at a quick march pace and consequently the feeling is frenetic ,never relaxed . The service is polite but impersonal and overall one feels just like another punter . Simply not the relaxing experience we personally like or expect from a traditional country house hotel on a weekend away .

Comfortable and tranquil hotel with a rural feel! Beautiful setting large parking area with stunning views. Gardens and seating areas with paths leading to other parts of the outside. The interior has a rustic setting with large lounge to sit with relaxing seating to watch the world go by with your favourite drink from a well stocked bar. The dining room was split into sections which worked well and the food from breakfast and dinner was top class. The room we had was a double with en-suite and the bed was fine, overlooking great views of the area and what is great about the Lakes. The hotel has a maze of stairs leading to the upper rooms and would not be suitable for disabled people as there is no lift. This is not negative just unfortunate due to the character and architecture of the building. Finally the staff are very welcoming, friendly, warm, professional and tentative to the needs of the guest. We stay regularly at various establishments in the lakes and I have to admit this is in my top 3 already. A return is already on the agenda! Thanks Mr & Mrs Cunningham

What a fabulous place, we often (once or twice a month) have a night or two in the lakes and our expectations of a 3* hotel were modest but this place was genuinely exceptional. Our room (6) was of a decent size, bed large, bathroom decent and a fabulous is little restricted view of the fells, personally not a fan of the headboard but that is just personal taste but hardly worth marking down over. The gardens are very pleasant with a nice covered seating area and glorious views, I have no doubt if this place had a lake view the prices would be double but do not let that put you off, the views are fabulous. Dinner was the crowing glory, exceptional food, tastes, colours a real feast. We really could not have been better catered for and will certainly return.

We stayed at Lyzzick Hall for just the one night but wished we could have stayed longer - its a gem of a Country House!! Our room looked newly decorated and was spacious and well equipped, the bathroom was the same. We were joined for our evening by relatives and we sat in the comfortable lounge to select our food from the great menu and wine list. We were shown to our table in the exquisite dining room and were served the excellent dishes by a team of friendly and efficient staff. The food was some of the best I have had. In the morning we went down to breakfast and were given a friendly greeting, and a table quickly cleared and reset to allow us to eat our breakfast looking out of the large windows onto the Cumbrian Fells panorama , the breakfast again was faultless
My only complaint would be the lack of a lift - my wife and I are both in our 70s and our room was on the top floor, help with our suitcases would have been appreciated

Excellent relaxed hotel, set in beautiful surroundings. Convenient for Grasmere and Wordsworth museum and cottage for a wet day. The bus stop is a hundred yards away, but it is also in walking distance of Keswick along a back lane as the buses don't run very late. The staff are friendly and food is delicious. The breakfasts were very filling. We had one evening meal which, although costing a little extra, was excellent value for money.
There was nothing to dislike.

The view is truly exceptional. The maitre’d was very friendly and spontaneously offered to move our table to a less noisy room, away from a large raucous group of diners. Our young waiter was good too.
Breakfast was OK. Dinner was a disappointment. The food was ‘’gloopy” (heavy-handed). Too much on the plate: breaded-and-fried onion rings (In addition to half a braised onion), two corn fritters that hardly tasted of corn, and a heavy gravy, all in addition to ribeye steak and pulled beef.

The staff were superb and very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the food and the service. Public areas were comfortable and there was enough space for varying groups of people. Nice views out over the countryside and good access to the road network to explore the Lakes. about 2 miles from Keswick town.
It was a shame the spa facilities are closed, but I guess if this is important to you, you can go to another hotel!

Room was comfortable. View was amazing. One breakfast provided enough exceptional food for two or three days. (We fdidn't need any other food all day!)
Map or written description of how to get to the room would have helped. (or more complete signs to room)

Location is absolutely amazing . Totally quiet and almost completely away from anything. Sound of nothing , quiet all around plus most beautiful views in England . Hotel itself is very clean and cosy . Plenty of hot water and beautiful bed. Decor you might like or not but still ok , not tired or dirty . Sweet place in general , not very posh but still £200 a night not £500
breakfast - apart from egg and sausage - terrible staff looked and acted rather tired and annoyed than cheerful and welcoming

Exceptional service from the restaurant and breakfast staff. They went above and beyond ensuring I was catered for due to my dietary requirements. The food was delicious and so much thought has been put into it. The location is absolutely stunning too! Hotel is spotless and our room was bright, spacious and comfortable. Grounds are beautifully kept too.
Can't fault anything.
