Everything about this hotel exudes quality. The staff are welcoming on arrival, service in the restaurant is very good. The room 302 (described as the best in the hotel) was breathtakingly beautiful. It was serenely quiet, watching kids jump from the tiny jetty into a sheltered mini harbour. No yachts here, just a handful of fishing boats. Every would be hotelier should come here to see how it should be done! This is an exemplar of a hotel, a hidden gem, which we wouldn’t have found but for Booking.com. Wonderful!

The hotel has a fabulous location overlooking the harbour and bay in Portballintrae. The dining room is beautifully appointed and the view is lovely. We had evening meal here which was filling and tasty, though it was focused on meat and potatoes with virtually no vegetables. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful.

The price of bed and breakfast in a back facing room was very expensive. The room was very average and generic in style.

Reception staff was so welcoming and wonderful. We LOVED our room with its snug gable window overlooking the bay. We ate our breakfast at the wee table right in front of it. We dined at the hotel’s restaurant, The Porthole; the food was very good with lots of gluten free options. Parking was conveniently available behind the building. The hotel’s location was excellent. A pretty seaside part of Bushmill’s.

The shower and bathroom sink didn’t drain that well—that’s a bit icky.

It was one of the best hotels I ever stayed. The room is super beautiful, expensive furniture, has everything you need. It has nesperesso machine! and even trouser press! They give rituals skin care (that’s expensive)! Also they give free water and chips! Staff is amazing! Reached out to me in advance, helped with restaurant reservations. The restaurant is just fascinating! It’s fine dining for super affordable pricing! included breakfast is amazing! we had Benedict’s with salmon and with natural coffee! free parking!

Great staff, wonderful food, and despite our stay being during a busy holiday period our room was quiet and, we were able to get a table in the restaurant at last minute. Really loved the Rituals products in the bathroom.

No plugs on the bed side of the room which was a nuisance for phone charging and laptop use. Bathroom was clean but a little dated in comparison to our room.

We had a room with panoramic sea views and plenty of space , pillows and bed were firmer than we would have liked but the hotel got us some softer ones . Staff were friendly and professional. There was a well stocked bar but disappointing wine list and the red wine we chose from South Africa was of a poor quality . Dinner menu in the restaurant was limited but breakfast was excellent .

We enjoyed all aspects of the Bayview hotel from cleanliness comfort, food and friendly professional staff. A very enjoyable stay.

We didn't like that booking.com hijacked our booking. I thought I was booking with the Bayview directly online and we were not aware until it was too late so we lost out on any perks eg We had to pay for our dinner that on a previous visit was included in the room price.

It is a very cute cottage. Loved the location. The staff was wonderful. And the restaurant was lovely too.

The hot water ran out- we couldn’t all take hot showers. The beds need better pillows and the towels all need to be replaced.

The reception was very welcoming, staff in the restaurant both breakfast and dinner were very nice, the house keeping staff were very helpful the room was of a very high standard both cleanliness and facilities. The food was great, the atmosphere was buzzing, busy hotel, we can understand why that is, location- fantastic. Would definitely come back again. Thanks.

Absolutely amazing. All the staff were so lovely and the bed was so comfortable, I think I had the best nights sleep of my life. Breakfast was delicious and dinner at the restaurant was superb, overlooking the sea as well! Stunning.
