Was such a nice few days away we stayed on Saturday night but was that good and relaxing we stayed an extra night we had the room with hot tub sauna and patio was amazing also staff were great helpful and friendly and Stephanie was so friendly and gave us a very warm welcome and we will definitely return also food was amazing :) Thanks to all the team at the sun inn we. Any thank yous enough

Everything location , food, the room was really nice good bed good sized room and the wee extras to make the stay more welcoming And the sauna and hot tub was bliss

The location was perfect as we were close to our daughter. The staff were all very helpful & friendly. The downstairs was clean, modern & comfortable. Breakfast was good & staff were quite happy to accommodate me for certain foods I was allowed due to a medical issue. Bed was comfortable enough.

We were surprised that the bedroom did not match downstairs. There were no bedside lamps, the carpet was quite stained, curtains were off some of the rings holding them up. Also there were no glasses to use for water. In the bathroom the light above the wash hand basin didn't work & neither did the plug in the basin, which meant water just ran out continuously. It was also in need of some refurbishment. Disappointed with the room.

Great location, easy parking, brilliant WiFi connection in room, and no password required. Super comfy bed and pillows on bed. Very spacious room. The shower was great too, with plenty of hot water. Breakfast was fabulous; a real hearty start to the day and if not included in the room price, at £9.99 was good value.

Couldn't get the TV to work, but had my tablet to watch stuff as I worked. No bother really as the WiFi connection was great. Dead spider in the bath. Some of the furnishings were badly marked and lots of filler in and around the bathroom. Could hear noise from the bar area but not too intrusive. Staff were polite but a little curt and hurried. Chefs can never seem to cook bacon well, but can nail a poached egg to perfection.

The bed was extremely comfortable and the cleanliness of everything was excellent. There was plenty of parking available and the breakfast was delicious too. The staff were very accommodating of me as a bride getting ready for her wedding

The plug sockets were all in one area furthest from the window which made it a little tricky for the hair and make-up artist to do her thing. We understood it is an old building therefore there are some things you just need to work around, however!

The Sun In is an interesting building with quirky rooms and furnishings. The location was excellent for us to visit family in Newtongrange. The breakfast was excellent. The staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. Excellent service all round.

We could not get any TV signal so couldn’t watch it. This was not a huge problem for us as we were rather tired at the end of our day but it would have been a disappointment if we had returned to our room earlier in the evening. Not so sure about the huge bath at the bottom of our bed. It was neither use nor ornament to us. Can’t imagine anyone using it. A lid over the top of it would give a useful additional set down surface.

The decor, a mix of modern and traditional. The breakfast and food in general was excellent. Great choice and large portions. Loved the Oysters.

Wi-Fi was intermittent. The bed was quite hard. The lounge music appeared to have been left on all night and could hear it while sleeping. The bathroom could do with a freshen up.

Lovely staff. Very pleasant and attentive. Really good food and nice breakfast. Our room was very nice. Clean and comfortable. Freestanding bath separate shower room and dressing area.

Probably best to have a car to get around. Nothing beside the inn but close to Edinburgh (30min train journey) and short drive to North Berwick. Only 12min drive from Rosslyn Chapel

The staff were very friendly and attentive. We stayed here as we had a wedding and they couldn't be more helpful. The room was lovely and the bed was Huge! Just what you need to fall into 😊 Our room was facing the traffic but you couldn't hear a thing. Breakfast before the wedding was superb highly recommend benedict stack. Full scottish day after was really lovely produce. We cannot fault our one night stay. Thankyou to you all!

great food, easy to get to, good wifi, good carparking

the property is right on the side of the busy road, very noisy in rooms. only do breakfast from 8am, not earlier. bathroom had some issues, the water pressure and sink design meant that water sprayed everywhere when you turned on the sink tap. the side of the bath was broken with jagged edges, there was a hole in the ceiling plugged with rag/tissue

We liked the location just far enough away from the madness of Edinburgh central and the charm of inn itself. The food was great and very friendly staff. There was not a problem with meal waiting times

My only grumble if there is one, the bathroom was dated but the staff new about this and was hoping to upgrade as soon as possible
