Booked all 4 rooms at The Ship and it was absolutely perfect. As it was a separate side door from the restaurant and it had a lovely little communal room that the bedrooms led to it really felt like you had your own house. Everything was spotlessly clean, very comfortable with a nice homely atmosphere. No hot breakfast but you could get a full Scottish fry up next door. A fantastic weekend.

THE ROOMS WERE SPACIOUS AND CLEAN. THE STAFF FOR THE MOST PART WERE HELPFUL AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. THE RECEPTIONIST COULD HAVE POSSIBLY EXPLAINED A LITTLE MORE ABOUT THE ACCOMMODATION/COMMON ROOM UPON ARRIVAL. THE BAR AND RESTAURANT WERE EXCELLENT WITH FRIENDLY STAFF.
THE ROOM WAS VERY WARM BUT THIS WAS MAINLY DUE TO THE TOWEL RAIL IN THE BATHROOM BEING ON AT FULL BLAST WITH NO WAY TO SWITCH OFF. THE BATHROOM WAS WEDGED SHAPED SO I BURNED MY BACK ON IT A FEW TIMES PASSING BY. THERE WAS ABRIGHT GREEN LIGHT ON IN THE ROOM THE ENIRITY OF THE STAY, THE LIGHT WAS STRONG ENOUGH TO KEEP ME UP ON THE FIRST NIGHT. THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE CASE, SEEMINGLY, AND NOT A SAFETY LIGHT THAT COMES ON IN THE EVENT OF A FIRE. THIS WAS THE SAME IN ALL 3 ROOMS THAT OUR PARTY HAD. THE CEREAL IN THE ROOM BASKET WAS FINE BUT WE WERE NOT INFORMED OF THE FACT THERE WAS MILK IN A COMMUNAL FRIDGE WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN HANDY FOR THE CEREAL AND COFFEE. DITCH THE PAIN AU CHOCOLAT OR USE A BETTER BRAND, THESE WERE AWFUL.

Location is great with fantastic public transport at the door. Room was clean. Controllable heating was more than enough for a night when it was -3 outside.
On Booking, com I booked a room described as “Double or twin”. In fact, there are no doubles here, only twins. They won’t make them up as doubles (I did ask). I wouldn’t have booked this accommodation if it had just said “twin”. The beds were quite poor - soft, saggy and I could feel the springs. The windows don’t give good sound isolation from the roads outside.

We were there for the races which were a lovely twenty minute walk away,we parked down at the harbour a few minutes walk back to the Inn and had a drink in the lovely lounge served by Andrew a very friendly young man who later on showed us to our room which was quite large with very comfy beds and a gorgeous shower room there is a communal area with a fridge you could keep items for your own cold breakfast like cereals, fruit or yogurts but we prefer a cooked breakfast so went to Wetherspoons a five minute walk away.We would definitely book here again.
Nothing.

We enjoyed our stay very much, the room was clean and very comfortable and the shower was super. We ate in the restaurant downstairs which was very convenient and the food was very good. We liked the little tray of breakfast things and the ample tea and coffee and milk available. We loved the little cheerful Christmas Tree in our window, lovely touch.
There was a little bit of noise from music downstairs but it stopped at midnight. It did start up again fairly early on Sunday morning which was unusual though. We slept very well despite it. and would highly recommend a stay here.

The Ship Inn was easy to find and there was parking close by down at the seafront. The secure access to the rooms was separate from the pub and the bistro. The room was spacious, extremely clean and well furnished with an excellent en-suite shower room. Although there was a kettle, mugs, tea, coffee etc in the room, there was a central seating area that all room opened on to that had a kitchenette with a fridge. The managers put in a carton of soya milk for me which was appreciated. we ate in the bistro and the food and service was excellent. We were extremely happy with it all and felt it was excellent value for money.

We were on a flying visit and were unable to spend as much time at Musselburgh as we would have liked. Upon arrival at The Ship we were greeted politely by staff and shown to our accommodation. From the restaurant area we were escorted outside and entered the accommodation from the High Street and provided with our entrance key, which seemed a little strange. We were quickly put at ease when moving to the first floor and finding a lovely modern area where there was seating, refrigerator and kitchen area for the use of the occupants of the four bedrooms. The whole area had been recently refurbished and the bedroom/bathroom was spacious and very clean and tidy. We ate in the restaurant after a couple of beers in the public bar area and everything was convivial. The staff were lovely. Thank you.
Nothing.
