Love the Copthorne Hotel. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and spacious, and it is very reasonably priced and has a great location especially if you like to shop, Merry Hill shopping centre is a 5 minute walk across the road and has so many great shops & eateries.The staff at the Copthorne are so friendly and helpful, especially Donna at the check-in desk she made us feel very welcome. I like that you can not use the stairs or lift unless you have a key card, making this hotel a secure, safe place . The bar staff and breakfast staff were so friendly and helpful, I would definitely recommend paying the Copthorne a visit. I am looking forward to our next visit.

Unfortunately, the weekend we were there, there was a problem at the bar the pints of beer were not good at all but the staff knew about this and were waiting for someone to come fix the problem, it wasn't a problem a big issue as there are plenty of bars across the bridge from the hotel.

Room was ready when I arrived a little earlier than planned. Staff very polite, welcoming and helpful. The bed was very comfortable, lighting adequate. Staff did supply me with more tea bags and milks, for which I was grateful.

I found the decor very dated and far too dark for my taste. There was limescale around bath taps. I did have difficulty with the wash basin taps which were stiff, and I was afraid to force them in case the little handle broke off. I did get them to work eventually. Nothing major, and I did get a very good price for the room, so for that reason I felt I had value. If I had paid some of the other prices quoted for the room I would have been very angry really.

Loved the proximity to the Merry Hill Shopping Centre, which is literally a 10 minute walk. You are also located right on the canals so you have plenty of nice places to walk nearby. First impressions of the hotel were amazing! The lobby is spacious and airy and welcoming. Little touches like water dispensers to help yourself to and seating. The lifts are secure and room key cards are required to operate the lift (up only). Rooms are lovely, spacious, comfortable bed, nice views of the water (waterfront King room). Windows with safety features so to make them child safe. Had a great night's sleep! Breakfast is worth every penny! For £10 per adult and £6.50 per child you have access to all you can eat buffet. Full English options plus continental options, fruit, toast, Cereal, plenty of vegetarian options too! And even a pancake machine! We all loved the breakfast! The pool was nice too, uses a couple times. Children can swim up until 7pm. It can get a little crowded at peak times though. Parking is plentiful and you just sign your car in, on a digital screen, on check in. Staff friendly and polite. Lovely bar/restaurant. Outside seating by the water. Definitely would stay again!

If I was to be really really picky, I'd say that you do hear a bit of road noise and/or industrial fan noise from outside, depending where your room is located of course! But it didn't affect my sleep!

Was noisy, sound travelled noticeably at night and was impossible to block out even after closing the windows - which then made the room uncomfortably warm. Paid for extras (breakfast ) at reception on arrival, but dining room didn't appear to have been informed about this for the duration of our stay (2 days). Staff were helpful, however and it did not cause a major issue. Parking could be difficult, car park occaisonally overflowed with numerous cars abandoned outside of parking bays.

Genuinely was an exceptional experience. Booked reasonably last minute and the price was really good for the facilities that they offered. The hotel was really easy to find and well placed. Check-in was very, very good. Donna - who checked us in - was extremely welcoming and kind, making sure to interact with my 2 children. Everything was slick and smooth. We had been allocated inter-connecting rooms which made a WORLD of difference to our stay (as we had to book 2 rooms as a family of 4). The rooms were immaculate with a card saying they had been prepared by Tina. The rooms were very spacious. In the morning we went to breakfast and were greeted by Vikki. Again, it was a great experience where we paid for breakfast and the offering was explained to us - including the magical pancake machine. There was a huge selection that kept us all happy. After that, we were able to use the hotel pool free of charge for a quick swim before check-out. All in all a fantastic stay, where the service and facilities both matched high standards and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. Review also posted on Google reviews.

Location really is beautiful for a stone throw from merry hill. Hotel & room were clean, roomy & comfortable. Definitely value for money too with lots of little extras included when booking the club suite

The extras included aren’t really advised by the staff. The voucher for money off the meal was but when I asked about late check out it says it’s included they said yes when checking but when o checked what the time was for late check out after breakfast I was advised it’s not included and it’s an additional cost. After I explained that’s not was my booking says and I did check on check in, the receptionist checked and said ok afterwards but wasn’t to friendly about it.

All the staff were friendly from reception, health club and restaurant. The pool was nice. Good size with jacuzzi. Towels and lockers provided. Restaurant - lovely food, plenty of staff at dinner and breakfast. Breakfast had plenty of choice. Room was clean and good size. We stayed in a club room with 1 x double and 1 x single. Nice view over the canal

Room decor could do with updating. Looking a little tired. Room was quite warm and we couldn't keep the window open as there is a couple of pubs/restaurants opposite that were a little noisy. Bar advertised cocktails but only had 1 available.

Staff very friendly and helpful and breakfast was great with a wide variety of breakfast food to suite all.

Our room was a bit small for the 3 of us, and no air con, but this was mostly my error in my booking. not a major issue but I'd know next time to book a better bigger room. I did try to upgrade but being a bank holiday and last minute nothing was available which was understandable. Overall our stay was good. Room was hot though and windows don't open enough to let air in. We did have a fan in room but this just circulates the warm air. The facilities were great and I would most definitely visit again.

From the time we arrived the receptionist was very professional, attentive, and went beyond the call of duty. And this panned out into the rest of the staff during breakfast. I had to sound check at 8am so I had to leave at 7:30am the time breakfast starts. And they more than ensured I had breakfast to take away, and being vegetarian, they accommodated my dietary requirements. Also on the last day, there was an accident that required first aiders attending to my need, and they each couldn't have done more. They were so professional, and well geared up on what they knew in order to help me understand my rights, and ensured that I was ok. They didn't just leave me to me own care. All the staff you can tell have either had the best training or as people they have a good heart. Or a combination of the two.

Whilst we had the fans and opening of the windows where (during June) sufficient. We thought if we didn't have the fans and we wanted to close the windows due to the loud noise that was coming from the crowd of visitors outside in the driveway, we would have struggled. But thank God for the fans! So the only thing I'd said I personally didn't like was, because I had to be up early in the morning (6am), and I couldn't easily fall sleep between 9:30-10:30 due to the amount of people outside on the driveway of the hotel. I could still hear them, but it was't awful, it just took me longer that night to fall asleep. The following night the crowd wasn't there so I was ok.

The property has easy access and has lots of parking. Reception large and open. Staff are welcoming. Rooms are clean, comfortable & the beds are lovely. Breakfast is buffet style and dietary requirements are taken into consideration. Pool is a nice temperature and warm towels are there to be used, so no need to bring along. The hotel is a stone’s throw from Merry hill shopping centre, it’s right next door to a huge next store.

Rooms are a little dated. Pumping really could do with an upgrade. The shower in my fathers room was not working, but a quick trip to reception got that sorted. Steps are not clearly marked, as we traveled with two visually impaired people. The pool is small and is not suitable for people with disabilities. The floors are like ice rinks and really need mopping often. A limited about of people would make the whole situation more bearable. Maybe booking a slot on arrival at the hotel. As this is open to the public and there are regulars , who do not appreciate children getting in their way.
