Very clean, room and bathroom were spotless. Welcoming and friendly, loved the decor in the bar.

TV in room too small to watch without straining. Overall, my stay was let down only by the lack of availability of an evening meal, forcing me to have a takeaway which I didn't really feel like. In fairness, I was made aware of this before arrival. Liaise with the pub round the corner (The Railway) and maybe have different nights off, so that there's an alternative for both places instead of both having no food on the same day?

Breakfast was really good. The staff responded readily to specific requests. The location is very near to the train station, making it ideal to commute into Birmingham and further afield. The price is great compared to other similar offerings in the area.

Being above a pub, it can be quite noisy but this is to be expected. The was an issue where the shower leaked whilst using it but credit to the staff, they dealt with the problem quickly and efficiently.

very clean. my room was set away from busy road so not noisy really. comfy bed. 5 mins to lye station with regular trains to birmingham snow hill and jewellery quarter, stratford upon avon. good parking. pub looked nice good decor. rooms separate. a tiny bit of noise from pub but went quiet at 11pm. big extractor fan outside window, off at night. good value. good tea and coffee. clean shower room separate. not ensuite. earl grey room i had. think better than other rooms which much nearer to busy road. very kindly they let me check in at 12 noon as going to Commonwealth Games and would be back late ay 9pm at dusk. breakfast was offered gor £6.99 but i didnt have. Good value place during commonwealth games 2022.

the immediate area is on busy road, which was ok to walk on pavement to lye train station when light, but the area around is not that good, especially high street nearby. could hear next door room talking but went quiet, it didnt bother me.

Ideal for a budget short stay. Close to Lye station with links to most of the West Midlands. Room well looked after and everything worked. Pub downstairs punches above its weight food-wise and other eating options are a short stroll away.

Not recommended if you want peace and quiet as can be a bit noisy with pub downstairs and main road outside. No biscuits with tea/coffee/milk sachets! Nothing major to complain about though.

The Hostess (Anne) and all the staff were excellent and very welcoming. We ate in the restaurant where the food was very good and plentiful. The Inn is part of a brewery, which produces excellent ales on site, which you can access for a walk about and instruction.

The car park is not the largest which inhibits the chances of parking when the pub/restaurant is in full flow. Anne did squeeze us in though.

The staff were very friendly, the room was clean. The pub / restaurant is nice and had a warm inviting atmosphere, the food was excellent, with a much higher standard of food than pub grade food. I had one of the home made pies and without exaggeration it was one of best pies I have ever had, great pastry and plenty of filling. The starter and dessert were also good. The breakfast was also excellent, I had the small one and it was more than enough after a big meal the night before.

The bathroom is exclusive use but is not ensuite (some rooms do have ensuite I believe). This was ok, and the bathroom was clean and fine but opening the doors to the room and the bathroom was very noisy (both creaks and bangs) which disturbed others at night. The car park is on a set of lights so you have to approach it from the side of the road that the pub sits on in order to get in safely (just drive past and turn around). Minor points really, worth a visit for the food alone

I was very comfortable there. It was well located for the places I wanted to go. The staff were very helpful and friendly

Perhaps there could be slightly brighter lighting in the room, for reading at night.

Friendly staff, clean rooms, good value for money

Our shower didn’t work (we were only there for a night and had to leave early the next day, so we didn’t have time to raise this issue, although I’m sure that if we did the staff would have dealt with it because they were very good)

Given that I needed a hotel that was near to a railway station so that I could travel into Birmingham to attend a function, its location could not have been better. There a regular train services to and from Birmingham from from Lye, which is very reassuring. The room was in a small and cosy location, so not having en-suite was not an issue. If you like to drink beer, then this is the place to be, as you are staying in a pub which also a brewery.

As there is a joint access with a balti restaurant you need to be careful not to turn into their parking area which has cameras and number plate identification. A bit of extra signage stating that customers for the pub and hotel must turn right at the entrance to the car park would be appreciated.

The room was small, but very clean, with a comfortable bed, nice bed linen, courtesy tray including a pod coffee maker, biscuits as well as the usual tea/coffee, bottled water etc. The bathroom was also small, but very clean, good towels, soap/shampoo provided, decent shower. There was a fan, and a heater, should we have needed it. Small TV on the wall, all in good working order. The window opened for ventilation, We had a very good dinner in the restaurant and the breakfast was superb - proper sausage, good bacon and the best scrambled eggs ever! Good quality bread for the toast too!

Nothing really - the shower cubicle is in need of a bit of TLC, and there were a couple of plaster marks on the wall in the bedroom, where something had been removed. I'm sure these will be addressed soon, and they didn't detract from the overall experience.
