lovely staff and comfy bed. made me feel so welcome on arrival, great bar and beer garden with lots of friendly locals! even brought some sandwiches ( for free) out for me when they told me local chippy was shut. brilliant hospitality.

The staff were very helpful re transportation to the heart of town, and generally quite nice. And the hotel is on the bus route. It seems to be a pub (bar on the ground floor and another in the dining area), so a quaint feel to it.

No lift, very steep narrow stairs. It was okay but I can't imagine what you would do if you had any mobility issues. Getting your luggage to the room wasn't easy. To be fair, I didn't really check that out before booking...they may have noted it in their description. And I ran into the same issue in York with a similar small B&B style place. So likely my oversight.

Had a very warm welcome. The bed and bedroom where very nice. The pub looks very cozy and welcoming. The lady who made our breakfast was very very lovely. This is a good place to stay for a few days or more and explore Edinburgh. Just a 30 mins walk from princess street and lots of buses to take as well. And there are historical pictures strewn across the wall which I really like.

Breakfast wasn't included in the room. Not a big deal breaker because it was as it should be. Don't remember if this was mentioned when I booked the place though. The shower wasn't that strong and the hottest stand was just warm enough.

Very nice hotel in a quiet location close to the city center and bus stops. The staff were very nice and accomodating, our late arrival was not a problem, and all our later requests were well taken care of. The room was small but cozy and clean and had everything we needed. A great place to stay and visit Edinburgh for a reasonable price, would recommend!

The windows did not open (at least we were unable to open them), despite the fan available in the room the air was quite stuffy on a hot day.

we changed dates to February as I was poorly so could make new year,rang up and lady was lovely couldn’t help enough.So we went 17/2/23 checked in lady told us everything we needed we parked the car round the back of hotel..We had drink in the bar then headed into town bus stop over the road.Room was spotless everything you need..Lady and gent on morning where also lovely had full Scottish breakfast plenty of tea and toast chatted away.Definitely stay again thanks for a nice weekend x

Nice Cozy room for good price,it was lovely and warm and the bed was very comfortable and there was tea and coffee making facilities in the room with a few extra touches of sweets and biscuits,bathroom was very clean and soap and shampoo is supplied with the room,there is a cozy bar downstairs with friendly staff,bus stops right beside hotel with regular buses to center its about 25 minute walk to town,if you are travelling from the airport get bus to Haymarket and just walk down to hotel,Special thanks to Mandy,Dion Bruce and Jackie for been so kind and helpful during my stay,really appreciated it

Staff were welcoming, helpful, and polite.The room was comfortable, and the facilities provided to guests included a wash hand basin, hairdryer, kettle, tea/coffee, and biscuits. The hotel has a restaurant and a nice lounge/bar.

I didn't mind this, as this used to be the norm in hotels and is certainly normal at home. Some others may not be prepared to share a shower room. The toilet and shower room are on the landings and are shared with guests in all three rooms on the top floor. You will need to remember to take your key to the loo.

Booked Ardmillan hotel for overnight stay, as attending a concert at castle, was easy to find, on arrival (a bit early,) our room was ready, everything you need is in the room, including tea & coffee facilities n bikkys ( nice touch) room was spotless and very comfortable, staff were great and very friendly, had full breakfast next morning and was well cooked and well presented , would recommend, and will definitely return

The rooms and bathrooms were clean, beds were comfortable. City centre easily accessible 10 mins away by bus as there was literally a bus stop right outside the entrance. Staff was welcoming and warm/friendly, specially the lady and the other man that worked in the morning with cleaning and breakfast. Breakfast was amazing and they had glutenfree options (f.ex GF toast). Scots are wonderful people and the staff at Ardmillan definitely proved that! When a hotel stay ends with a hug from one of the staff, you know it's a great one. Sad to leave but would definitely come back or recommend the place if you're going to Edinburgh!

There is really nothing small or serious to complain about as everything with my stay went smoothly.

clean, working and well stocked, super little bar and outside terrace perfect for a drink after a long journey. unfortunately booking .com had not sent the confirmation to the hotel and we’re a little difficult to get to send it again as the channel manager for them hadn’t sent it. the hotel and especially Amanda were amazing and sorted everything out and cleared a room for us immediately even without the confirmation, which eventually after a couple of phone calls we sorted. thanks Ardmillan will definitely stay again! just sorry we could stay for breakfast, we had to go but it looked superb. Rich & Oz.
