The location was good, a small walk from everywhere. The facilities were nice and always clean and the staff was nice. It was cold outside of the room (in bathrooms, and common area downstairs) and then very hot inside the room. Good sized lockers but need a big lock to fit in them.

I didn't like one of other guests in the room waking everyone up at 3:30 - 4 AM because he lost his key, was super drunk, and couldn't find his friend. Guess that's what you get when you stay in a hostel.

Great, quirky establishment in a grade 1 listed gothic building, rooms functional and themed by an artist. Staff helpful & friendly, value for money with a location close to centre. Manager managed to sort i.d. issue, other staff really helpful to extending stay. Really impressed.

Booking.com does not make explicit requirements for photo ID prior to booking. Toilet has an air vent jammed open (bracing early mornings!!!)

Unique atmosphere and design. Free and friendly situation, seen also among other inhabitants (care for public space and overall sweetness). Free foods in the kitchen. Equipmemt of the kitchen and common room.

Wet towels on the bathroom/restroom floors, inability to open the ceiling window to air the bedroom.

super cool atmosphere being in a church. location is right by the Village of Dean and along the water of leith walking path. Easy walk from Haymarket, even with luggage, and very walkable to the Royal mile.

lack of ventilation, it’s in a church so not exactly able to open windows for fresh air. the interior has been divided up into rooms of four bunk beds and one window per room at the top. Gets real funky real fast when it’s a full room, also I imagine ripe for a Covid outbreak. Another thing, it’s a church and they’re designed to amplify voices, so anyone chatting echos through the whole church, most people understood and were respectful, some were not.

The hostel is in an old church which is really cool. Staff were super friendly and helpful. There was a massive communal kitchen with all utensils / cutlery / cookware you could possibly need. There's also a common area that anyone can make use of. free earplugs at the front desk were also quite handy. The location is gorgeous, a stone's throw away from Dean's Village and only about a 5-10 minute walk to New Town.

Laundry is a bit expensive considering it's a hostel (£7 per load, but to be fair the staff takes care of it for you). I don't really have any complaints really ...

A wonderfully quirky and stunning building. Perfect for a long weekend stay. Staff were very friendly and super helpful during our stay. Amazing and spacious communal area and kitchen. It was very quiet at night too so we could sleep very well.

The bar in the communal area wasn't open at any point during our stay, not sure what the hours should be though.

Wall art, separate bathrooms for female and male, lots of space in the shower rooms to put your things, good neighborhood, next to a lovely forested walkway by the river, walkable distance to tram and buses, great kitchen area

Thin walls + sound carries easily inside, hot and stuffy when rooms are fully booked, bed/pillow were really uncomfortable for me, tight showers

The staff were nice, other travelers were also nice and considerate of others. Even though I slept together with at least nine other people in the same room I felt safe. The kitchen is well equipped, bed was comfy. Unique place, I would stay here again. Thank you!

Awesome atmosphere that’s worth staying slightly out of the city centre for. Really helpful and welcoming staff who were open 24/7. Very reasonable price too

No curtains on the beds and no place to keep your locker key and charging phone safe. But the venue is making the most out of the space it has

The stuff was really friendly and I liked spending time there. The common room was great, the kitchen huge with everything you need and storage space and the position of the tables supported exchange. It was my first time that I really spend time with other travelers in a hostel. Besides that it was clean and comfortable.

The sleeping rooms had not enough space for all the luggage and there was no alternative where to put it, so we had to work it out every day.
