Good place with reasonable price. at walking distance to city center and all amenities

Toilets were blocked even though the room and bathroom were very clean. the staff is not very welcoming, he was bit rude to my friend when she asked to store her luggage the next day

The location was perfect for me, given that it was close to my workplace, and the castle. I have never had the necessity to use public transport. The room was clean, I always had hot water in the shower and the staff was nice and warm at all times. I spent a month there, always be treated with kindness. It is a big hotel, in front of the National Galleries Modern 1 and 2. It has a bar and they serve breakfast. In the room I had a kettle, a Tv, a hairdryer, and an iron with its table. Tea, coffee, milk wery freely given. Same goes for the towels. Close to the area of Haymarket, where I could find several restaurants open till late, it has behind it the Water of Leith walkway, which is a lovely path along quite a fast flowing river.

It is not possible to open the window completely. I dislike fitted carpets. Maybe it has something to do with me, but when first I arrived I had to bump twice in a car parking before I could find the entrance to the reception.

Being allocated a spacious room with a bath ! Leisurely soak before and after sleep was a treat ! Although dated @ 1970 s style was perfect for a clean, warm, comfortable stay where I felt safe and undisturbed. Appreciated being given a room with a window and not below ground floor , I have health issues which this helped with - thank you to the considerate receptionist! Anna? It was lovely and quiet in the clean room with a very comfortable double bed and good bedding ensured a great night's sleep which enhanced my overall stay. Lovely warm room with option to open the window enough - safety catch -if needed There is a bus stop outside the hotel ( only an hourly service Monday to Saturday but it was still a help ). A last moment booking on a Sunday for a bargain under £40 price Exceeded expectations and would happily return if a similar deal was on offer.

More than happy with every aspect of the stay , so no complaints whatsoever

I've been blessed with a free upgrade. My room had a very big window facing one of the small waterfalls in Edinburgh. The bed was double even tho I was by myself. I asked for a room with a bathtub and it was great! The room was a family-size room. It had tea and coffee and a desk with an armchair. The location is good but probably just because I had to reach it on foot. It is about 30 minute walk from Scott's Monument. I loved it! I really think I'll be back but I also know that I've been lucky for the upgrade. Special mention to the lady at the desk who was very kind and useful!

I was apprehensive before coming as I had read plenty of negative reviews. However the hotel was perfectly fine for a short stay. We paid £62 for two people with breakfast. Room was clean and warm, with a powerful shower. It was quiet at night. The staff were friendly and efficient. This hotel is a bargain for a stay in the city as the location is perfect too. Over the road is the modern art museum and the main attractions are a 20-25 minute walk away. I will be staying again.

The breakfast was a bit cold and I would have liked proper coffee instead of instant but that’s just me being fussy.

The location is great. Not to far from the city centre, you can enjoy a nice walk from the hotel to the tourist areas.

We arrived very late in the night. We walked through to the room and the floors were very dirty like they haven’t vacuumed in days and dirty linen parked outside of the rooms and the walkway, but that wasn’t the worse. When we came into the bedroom we could feel a very strong/ bad smell. We found just one pillow in a double bed, stain in the quilt cover, in two part of the carpet we could feel wet, dust in the furniture… We woke up the first day feeling sick and how we couldn’t if with the day light we could see mould in the carpet. We breathed the whole night that bad atmosphere. In reception I explained what was happening and that I was unhappy with the room and they changed us to a second room where we didn’t have any trouble and had better cleaning conditions than the first one.

Having stayed before, the hotel is well located and the rooms are comfortable and quiet, which is a lovely bonus, especially after been on the road for hours. The fact that the rooms have a bathtub really is great as allows you to just relax and chill. Staff are great too and helpful. Great value for money.

If I have to point something would be the fact that you have to pay for parking, but considering that most hotels in the city centre do not even offer parking, can't say I'm surprised, especially as there may not be enough parking if every guest was to drive there.

Great hotel for it's price. The room was quite spacy, with everything necessary for a short stay. The location of the hotel is great. We were walking to the center enjoying street views. It takes around 30 mins to get to the old town from the hotel.

The reception staff wasn't really nice, you could read on their faces that they are not willing to answer your questions about parking, or other hotel related ones. Another thing was that we got a room of two single beds put together instead of double bed we booked. There was quite a lot of dust and trash in between those two beds.

The lady on reception was charming and immediately changed my keycard which did not work. Despite the steep hill down to the entrance, the location was ideal as I parked my car in Dean Village close by.

This nice hotel was spoiled by rather noisy guests who showed little consideration to others. Luckily, I always travel with earplugs so I had a great night’s sleep. I didn’t try the breakfast as I knew there was a lovely cafe nearby. It was a pity there was no evening meal service but we enjoyed a drink at the bar instead.
