The room was clean and the housekeeping did a good job. The equipment was adequate and completely sufficient for us. It was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was also plentiful and delicious!

Unfortunately, for example, the bar wasn't as clean as our room. On the contrary, it was rather grubby. The floor (carpet!) was stained and would have needed at least a vacuum cleaner. The tables were not wiped and were so sticky that it was difficult to get the drinks menu off. Also in the lobby and the elevators the floors are obviously only cleaned once a day. Stains from spills were not cleaned up throughout the day and the resulting footprints stretched for yards.

we had a room with no window. when booking it wasnt made clear that there was no window it just said limited or no external light. we wouldnt have booked this room type if we had known.

We really enjoyed our stay. We found the room to be thoroughly clean, spacious, and comfortable. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were on the 6th floor, and it was very peaceful and quiet, we couldn't hear a sound once in our room (we bumped into other families who were staying on the same floor). As for the bathroom, we never had the problem of water going everywhere. Of course, as we do at home, we dry a bit ourselves before getting out of the shower. And the shower door is well sealed. The position is also perfect to reach the main attractions and shops just by walking. We don't understand how someone can write a bad review on this hotel. We haven't found any flaws, and we'll definitely come back.

Great location, value for money, modern, friendly staff

Location was great. Room was spacious and comfy. Some clever use of space saving furniture I liked a lot. Checking In was relatively painless and done on their automatic machines.

Seemed to be a lot of noise you can hear from around the hotel, Doors closing, random other bumps in the night which woke me up a few times. If room lighting switches near the bed exist I couldn't find them. The room uses a frame design around the TV which actually serves to mute and muffle the sound coming from the TV speaker. The staff weren't very helpful in finding the 2nd floor exit to Young Street. The cleaner looked at me as if I was an idiot and told me to go downstairs to get out. I feel better signposting would have been beneficial here. It was obviously the Fringe festival so prices were very high.

Bed arrangement was very good with really comfy beds and a good tv for winding down at night. Breaskfast was good but quite a limited choice even for a buffet. Mini fridge in room was a good idea as it allowed us to chill water for the next day and store some snacks in tbe room. Air conditioning system was good and really easy to operate. Double blind system on windows is really good as it was a blackout blind and privacy blind system.

Bathroom area was interesting as no door to the area but toliet and shower where behind separate doors. Would be good for a couple not a family as no place to really change. No tea and coffee facilities in the roon which means having to bring hot drinks from bar area back to room. Room was needing some repairs and socket next to the bed was broken and room showing some signs that some maintenance required as paint was peeling off walls and ceiling. Spot lights on double bed were broken. Only LED backlighting fromTV provided lighting for the sleeping area of the room.

Very friendly,staff excellent, definitely stay again, great location for Christmas Market and for eating out.

Unfortunately one member of staff was quite abrupt and slightly rude. We were disappointed to find out at 3.30pm we couldn’t check in, despite being told we were able to check in from 3pm. We didn’t actually get to check in until 3.45pm upon being told “we were in luck” as a room had been cleaned… but how was this luck when we’d paid for a room from 3pm? Surely if check out is 11am and check in is 3pm, there should be enough time to sort our room. This dampened our experience slightly. Anyway, we still had a good stay.

The hotel is right in the city centre, within a walking distance of everything! The staff were very friendly and the buffet breakfast had lots of options. The rooms were spacious, the bed was comfy and there was air conditioning which was quite nice.

It was not possible to open the window so we couldn't air the room. The nearest parking is maybe a 10-12 minute walk from the hotel and it cost us around 77 GBP to park there (we stayed for two nights in Edinburgh), the hotel didn't offer any discount for the parking which was a pity as it was quite expensive. During our second night, I think the air conditioning wasn't working until like 4am so we slept a bit poorly as it was really hot in the room.
