I liked the olde worldliness and the pub was extraordinarily busy and full of lively people from the village enjoying a football match. I received a really warm welcome and the Landlord later came over and spoke to me and asked if everything was okay, which I thought was very good of him. A kind young man carried my bags up to the room for me. I was very pleased with my room, the size and comfort and the ensuite was really lovely too, although one of the lights on the mirror wasn't working. I had a lovely evening in the pub too; there was lots of dancing and a singer who did a great set. A perfect end to the day!

Communicating prior to the visit was by DM on the Booking.com site. It proved impossible to get a room with a bath (which I would have really liked to have had as I was doing a 26 mile trek for Alzheimers in the daytime). I was happy with the shower provided though in the event which was a really good size. It was also very difficult for some reason to find out the menu prior to my stay. As I had thought I would be late, I had wanted to order some food before the Kitchen closed to be sure of a hot meal. I did have a good home-cooked dinner there in the end though.

The menu was very comprehensive. The village is 1 of the quietist & quaintest we've ever stayed in. We were extremely lucky that we landed on a Saturday when there was entertainment on !

The view from 1 side our bedroom was over lots of shabby different height felt roofs looked a bit like a shanty town, but the other side was lovely............BUT, how many bedrooms have 2 outlooks? The kettle lead is way, way too short & the only plugs I could find was an extension under the bed, so the kettle had to be plugged into that & stood on the floor !

Excellent location really lovely village, ideal for our commute down South. The room was clean and suited us well with our little one. Despite being situated above a pub there was very little noise. The staff were really friendly and patient with a 2 and 4 year old chattering away at the kitchen door. Breakfast can be got at the cafe next door but one...which was also good

Really minor things... The route out of the pub when it's closed is a bit odd (and stinks). Before our visit I'd had a call about the shower not working in one of the rooms we had booked, it wasn't a problem we were all happy to muddle through and share a shower however when we arrived no one was sure which one had an issue and there appeared to be fresh grouting in both rooms which we obviously didn't want to get wet.

The feel of the room, the fact it has a separate exit and entrance to the public, staff were lovely they were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us, food was tasty and loved the location. We went for a festival and was only 6 miles away so was perfect for us. We would love to stay next year too if possible,

Probably only a couple of things…it was a little run down in places especially the landing walls outside our room but didn’t effect our stay…also it was hard to boil the kettle as not many plugs luckily we had brought an extension lead to charge our phones and watches and used this to plug the kettle in however it was still on the floor but we made it work.

Good location if visiting or competing at Prescott Hill Climb. Friendly and helpful staff in a popular village inn. Room was clean and comfortable. Eat in both evenings, good choice from an extensive menu of typical pub fare. This was a return visit.

The pub was very full with people eating on the Friday evening which led to some items being unavailable on the Saturday.

Exceptional value for money, the staff in particular are absolutely lovely, nothing was too much trouble, we arrived late and they were extremely accommodating, the room was comfortable, clean and perfect for the short stay that we required. The food and drinks selection was amazing and In my opinion under priced . Thank you for making us feel so welcome.

Clean and comfortable, staff were friendly and helpful, family staying nearby so location good. Food excellent.

Kettle had to put on floor as lead to short dangerous. Such a shame have not made courtyard garden nicer. New clean tables, tidy up garden a few outside lights could be, such a pretty space.

Spacious, clean, cosy room attached to lovely pub which feels like your living room. Unearthly water pressure which took a layer of skin off- perfect Also appreciated the tea and hot chocs and extra little bits

Great water pressure but shower was just one temp, could get it really hot but that’s my personal preference

The room was clean the sheets and duvet were lush towels bright white and fluffy. The tray of tea and coffee was well presented even had hot chocolate (something you don't always get at other establishments ) the staff were all very polite and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

Staff were superb. Very friendly, brought a toy over for my daughter at the evening meal. I chatted whilst the footy was on! Room was spacious and light Food was delicious

The cups in room were dirty but the only complaint and something we dealt with swiftly. Shame no breakfast available!
