Ideally positioned for my needs at the time without a car. Last day of holiday could be spent on the nearby beach as within short walk to the Driftwood. Easy taxi distance to airport. Milk and brownies for bed time, a nice touch. My room had wonderful view of the Cove. Very friendly staff. Customer service definitely went above and beyond. I had been staying in the village but didn't have means to get my suitcase to the Driftwood. A member of staff kindly picked it up for me which was much appreciated.

Food: Ingredients great but the preparation could have been better. Breakfast: I've never had half a mushroom served to me before. As I'd crossed out most of the elements of the Full Cornish, I would have expected a few mushrooms. Bacon was grilled on one side and uncooked on the other. Dinner: Monkfish starter, the membrane had not been removed which meant it was virtually inedible. I fed this back to restaurant staff at the time. A pity, a case of so near and yet so far. Little more quality control required in the kitchen.

1st class choices for breakfast. While you help yourself to what takes your fancy at the buffet counter, your pre-ordered cooked breakfast is being prepared and served up promptly by a charming waitress. The location is superb and couldn't be bettered in my opinion. Dinner in the bar the previous evening was also very tasty and plentiful with a marvellous selection of real ales to choose from - some of which are brewed there.

I was a little bit annoyed by a noisy idiot outside in the beer garden yapping and yuk yukking until late, but that was not the Spars' fault ! Also, the roadworks coming from Truro are a bloody nightmare. Good job I knew where to go already.

Breakfasts were great and the location can't be beaten really. Everything you could need around you for a short stay, outdoor bar/cafe, brewery, beach etc.

I was in room 4 and it was really hot. It was raining on the Friday night so I couldn't leave the windows open, but I opened them the next night. It made little difference. My family and friends were all in the chalets across the road and they said that they were too hot as well. The TV was dodgy but I realise you had that in hand. I saw the engineers coming in on Sunday.

Probably the best location in Cornwall that I visited. It was right near the beach in the beautiful town of St. Agnes. The hotel itself was beautifully restored. the main restaurant was lovely and dated back to the 1600's with big dark wooden beams in the ceiling. Food was 5 star for dinner. A very good breakfast with several options was included daily and the breakfast room looked out to a view of the sea. The location was stunning. I loved the village of St. Agnes. I stayed 3 nights and could have stayed at least a week.

My room was not in the main hotel but in a small building across the street which was more modern and part of a house and commercial building. The room was good except the shower was not as clean as it should have been, but as soon as I mentioned it they immediately resolved the issue. Very good service.

Ideal situated on the Cornwall coastal path. Beautiful old property which has been extended, breakfast overlooking the sea. Staff were very friendly especially Lisa who cleaned up my friend as she had a fall. Dinner either served in lovely restaurant or adjacent to bar. Bar serving a good variety of gluten free beers. Room was lovely and clean, beds comfortable.

Felt the price of accommodation slightly expensive.

I stayed in Driftwood Spars for 5 nights in their single room over Easter break. Absolutely lovely place to stay. I was made to feel welcome and well looked after from start to finish, including my dog. The food was exceptionally good and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Brownies on the arrival made my day after a long journey there. I will be back soon.

It would have been lovely to have a mini fridge in the room to have chilled drinks after a long day of hiking.

Such a great place to stay - right next to the water and there was always a great atmosphere with people going to the beach, hanging out at the pub. Allotted car parking space for our full stay which was so handy. Food in the pub was quite expensive but delicious. French toast at breakfast was lovely! Gorgeous sea view from the breakfast room. Staff were really friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. Women's Euros final was put on in the pub too!

Had to book breakfast slot the day before which was fine for us but doesn't leave full flexibility (totally understand why places are doing this now though!). The bowls for cereal were often a bit dirty for some reason. Bathroom could have done with a slight spruce up.

The room was very clean and well kept and the bed was very comfortable and amply long enough for a 6 footer like me. As it was a single it was, as usual, a bit small. When one travels alone this is usually the case so I'm used to it by now. Breakfast was excellent with a first class choice of food available and with a great view down to the sea

A slightly larger room would have been nice but on reflection, this was the room I booked online when there were larger doubles available for a higher price

location is first class, parking is excellent system, staff are brilliant, breakfast is superb, clean and tidy

bed was a little uncomfortable, quite a thin mattress and we had a problem with the shower pressure however the staff sorted it as soon as we reported it. some of the food options ran out when it was busy too so we couldn’t always order what we wanted but that is to be expected if places are busy.
