The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent - the Specials Board could perhaps be changed more frequently. The setting was delightful, with easy access to so many places of interest.

I prefer a proper shower unit rather than a shower tap in a bath - but others will have a different view. What I missed most was a "quiet" area to sit after dinner. The weather prevented going outside and the bar was busy and mainly set out for diners.

The Wellington Inn is a lovely friendly pub with 12 rooms. My room (8) was lovely, clean and decently appointed. I feel that a little spot of paint would have improved it but overall, for cleanliness and comfort it couldn’t be surpassed for the price we paid. The food was good, not exciting but tasty and plentiful and the staff were lovely. Breakfast was good and there were enough choices ( apart from the lack of porridge which I love!) There’s plenty of car parking space and the Inn is surrounded by sublime countryside which is a joy to explore. The pub is obviously popular as it was busy all the time we were there, which is delightful as so many pubs empty quickly as soon as service is finished. I hope to return at some point. I thoroughly enjoyed my short stay.

I didn’t rate the hairdryer in my room. It caught my hair in the air intake which was unpleasant. It was also obviously a travel model which had a habit of collapsing in use which wasn’t much fun!

Loved the location, room was clean and ready on arrival staff gave a warm welcome , evening meal was good quality really enjoyyed it. Overall a pleasant stay. All staff were lovely except the lady running the show.

Didnt like the attitude of the lady running the business very negative towards Booking.com when I asked a question about a pending payment.Think she needs to remember that we wouldn't have known about the business if it wasn't for this site, Would also have been nice to be asked at checkout if we had enjoyed our stay. The coffee at breakfast was horrible like thick sludge didnt change its colour when you added milk certainly needs reviewing.

The evening meal was delicious. The steak and ale pie was the best I’ve ever had. It was great to be able to sit outside and enjoy a drink, especially when the sun was shining. The location was ideal as not too far from Harrogate centre but far enough to be peaceful. Good base for Brimham Rocks and Fountains Abbey also.

Our room was great but other family members had a room upstairs with a sloping roof which was a bit cramped. Shaving mirror was too low in their bathroom. Taps in our room very stiff and difficult to open and close.

Great location, with a big (and free) car park and a bus stop to Harrogate just across the road. it's a shame we didn't stay longer and have more time to explore the area. Our room was clean we had a lovely hot and powerful shower. Had a really nice meal in the restaurant and the menu had a lot of GF options. Breakfast was included in the room rate and again was really nice with plenty of choice. Would definitely recommend

My only very small issue was the squeeky beds. Would recommend a blast of WD40. Everything else was spot on. .

The room and en-suite shower were perfectly adequate and as I would expect from a country pub with accommodation. The room was clean and well presented with fresh white bed linen and towels. It had everything I needed for a short two night stay. Dining room was nicely decorated and the breakfast menu had a good selection and was delicious. I only had breakfast there.

My room was on the ground floor and unfortunately the noise from the room above did affect my sleep somewhat. The floors are presumably made from chipboard so creak and squeak when the guests upstairs are moving around, and I could also hear snoring over the TV, so the insulation between floor and ceiling could be improved.

I really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would definitely stay here again. The room is understandably smaller than some of the larger hotels as a significant portion of the room has been converted into an immaculate ensuite which contains a great shower and full size bath. The room was cosy but had everything we needed including storage, a well stocked tea and coffee tray and a fan in the cupboard for warmer evenings although having windows that opened was lovely. I found Breakfast a little limited as I usually have fruit salads and continental breakfasts but this hotel is geared towards walkers who need a more significant breakfast, that said I found Eggs Benedict a nice lighter option. We ate 5 times in the restaurant and found the food to be varied, ample and good quality, I would have preferred more variety of soups during the week but the 2 I had were delicious. The hotel is a great base to explore the area but we did find that we drove quite a distance in all directions to visit attractions like the Rippon museums, The National Coal mine museum, Lotherton Hall and Boston Abbey all of which were brilliant as well as some of the more local reservoir walks. Whilst my review may seem critical in parts, rest assured I love this hotel, the amenities, the food and most definitely the front of house and back office staff, all of whom were absolutely lovely without exception!

A continental breakfast option, a daily change of soup and more regular changes of specials and more availability of the wines on the list (apparently defined by the brewery and out of the Hotel's control)

The breakfast was excellent: plenty of choice of hot food and a selection of cereals, yoghurts, etc. too. I loved the view from the dining room and it was a nice touch that there were roses in vases on every table.

I was a little disappointed that breakfast was only served until 9 am. That strikes me as a little early for people who are on holiday. The other slight criticism would be that the room (and the bed) were smaller than most places I've stayed in recently. Nothing that can be done about that though.

staff very efficient, both before we arrived in responding to questions, and when we were there, able to give us recommendations for places to visit. Ample parking outside. Breakfast menu was very varied. Room was very clean and well decorated. Shower had lots of hot water.

that on a Sunday, as the pub shuts at 9pm, there is nowhere else to go to sit as communal area. Had to go back to a room, and there is only a bed. Would have liked to be able to sit in a lounge area - 9pm is a bit early for bed.

We were pleasantly surprised with the inn. It was in a great location for our needs. We chose this on price as we were only looking for something reasonably priced and clean with no frills. What we got was a nice room with on suite. Nice thick mattress and laundered white linen bedding Towels were good quality And extra large. An added bonus was the restaurant were food was home made and exceptionally good. Bar was very busy so expect a small wait for your beverage. Breakfast was excellent and overall no complaints. Good quaint inn. Pleasant staff. Large carpark. We will definitely recommend for a base as its more reasonable than the bigger hotels and positioned close enough for Harrowgate and other points of interest
