Accommodation and staff were excellent The only downside was the food on the Sunday evening . I know Sunday lunches are served most of the day but unfortunately two of our friends has lamb which was probably the end of the supply and there was not very much of it .It all felt a bit dried up . Should have complained but didn’t so I suppose it’s my fault . The Sunday menu we were given was not the Sunday menu on the website from memory so disappointing . Would I stay again , probably yes but I might look around the area to see if there are alternative places to eat on a Sunday.

- Large car park, plenty of spaces - Dog allowed in bar area - Great location for country walks - Extremely clean inside and out - Nice decor and well maintained grounds - Varied continental breakfast selection - Full English was rich and filling

- Small tv, size of A4 piece of paper - Lack of towel hooks, the shower was at the opposite end of the room to the towel rail - Slip hazards, shower tray, bathroom tiles - No storage options for toiletries - No iron - Different mattresses for each single bed pushed into a superking, uneven sizes - Only filter coffee at breakfast though coffee machine clearly on and not given as an option - Automatic 10% service charge at dinner. However, wrong drink order, gave a fork for a soup starter and scallop was cut into thirds

With our third visit in six years, we still like the Green Man as a stop-over on our way home. Its location is a good spot to have a break from driving down to the Dorset coast. Beds as comfy as ever, we also had a quiet room on ground level. Breakfast of great standard and tasty, good choice of toast, jams and cereals.

Over the years the rooms have become a bit tired, e.g. the small TVs are of low quality compared to today's standard, some buttons on the remote stopped working, the flush in the toilet was hanging out and not working properly, blinds and curtains are dated and couldn't be regulated. We would have appreciated an anti-slip mat in the shower and a rack for your own shampoo and shower gels. The portions in the restaurant seemed very small for the price. The sticky toffee pudding didn't arrive with the advertised honeycomb and after asking, it was suggested that the ice cream was honeycomb (which was definitely not!).

I booked this for my friend Gary. He went with his wife Kirsty, and really liked the place a lot. He said It’s an amazing atmosphere, "Couldn’t have chosen a more perfect Hotel/Pub". Also he told me the staff were excellent and accomodating, and that the food was excellent too. They had a dinner, saying the chicken was so succulent and well seasoned. "I ate very slowly savouring every mouthful"

The building is so old, and the floor beams bent, that the bed was not quite level. But he didn't mind too much as he loved the whole feel of the place.

the staff were friendly and attentive. There was a roaring fire in the bar which was really welcoming, I had a meal in the evening ( Sunday roast) which was good and breakfast equally as good. The room i booked said it would be a garden view this didn't materialise had a view of some outbuilding ( ground floor). This said it wasn't an issue this was a business trip had the visit been for leisure then i would have raised it as an issue. The room was great comfy bed a very modern shower room with an excellent shower ( good pressure)

As indicated above i had booked a room with a garden view the room I had didn't have any view. Sat nav didn't get me to the property but just kept going for a further mile or so and easily found.

Great location for exploring the local area. All staff were very friendly and welcoming and we enjoyed all our meals (4 breakfasts and 2 dinners). The garden was lovely and well maintained, perfect for sitting out on a sunny evening. The bathroom was super. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

You do need to ask for your room to be serviced. If you are in a downstairs room the floorboards upstairs are pretty creaky even in the newer annexe building. Drinks are pretty pricey, check the price before ordering.

Everything was exceptional from the well mannered booking inn and shown to my room to the exceptional service and food in the restaurant, I would say that the seats are a little tired in the restaurant but hell, the whole ambience and staff puts that to bed, faultless,

2 sausage and two eggs for breakfast, and baked beans, always baked beans for breakfast.

The room was generous with a lovely bathroom with separate bath and shower and big fluffy towels. There was a good hospitality tray for tea and coffee. There was an electric fan which was useful in the hot weather.

The hanging rail was several inches higher than my 6'3" tall husband and I couldn't reach it. There were no shelves or drawers for things that couldn't be hung up. The very small TV was in a corner and couldn't be seen very easily from the furthest side of the bed.

Breakfast and Dinner were both very good and very good value. Our room was very nice and roomy and bathroom cleqan with a nice shower.

Unfortunately we asked for a quiet room and were located right on the road travelling through town and below people who were very heavy footed above us. There was clearly no soundproofing and this took away some of the enjoyment of the quality of the room we had been assigned and unfortunately the above lodgers also left very early in the morning.

Staff were friendly and helpful but service was often slow due to not enough staff being on duty. Once it arrived, food was very good.

We booked a Deluxe Double Room, but the description on your booking confirmation was for a self catering room - this needs to be sorted out to avoid future confusion and disappointment. The room we stayed in (No 8) had no shelves or drawers for storage of clothes, etc.
