Pretty much everything! It was exactly what we wanted. Fresh air, fantastic view of a really beautiful part of Herefordshire, close proximity to Hereford City (10 mins by car), nice room with lovely en-suite and desk area with plenty of USB charging sockets for all your gadgets, flat screen TV, king size bed, light and airy and unlike so many hotel rooms actually had more than enough really bright lights! The en-suite was the cleanest bathroom ever come across in any of our stays away and no signs of any pet hairs or dust etc. in the room - which was one of our worries being in the countryside with allergies - so it has to have the very highest rating for cleanliness. The food - to die for! The chef would be more than happy to cook anything at all you requested as long as he had the ingredients and if he didn't if you gave him the time would get them. To have such a chef "on tap" is amazing and its something we certainly didn't expect at all. We were just bowled over completely. We all felt completely part of the pub/hotel and the total family atmosphere there. It stands out as one of the very best holiday experiences we have ever had (and we've had a few)! It totally hit the spot. We came with our two boys who loved having the run of the pool table in the pub/games room downstairs and it was a welcome experience to leave them in a lovely safe area with the careful oversight of the management that consisted of Mark (the barman), Stephanie (the owner) and Nick (the chef). It was full of all the most pleasant of surprises but by far was the lovely welcome we received and the attention to our every need and desire by everyone there. It has my highest EVER recommendation!

Nothing in life is meant to be perfect and if I didn't point some things out then no-one would believe just how amazing our stay here was! The very few niggling things that I am sure will be put right and probably are at the time of this writing was a toilet seat that needed a little realigning and maybe a change of bedroom linen away from flowers that could leave a dated impression (doesn't bother me but it was something my wife mentioned to me - but then again she is a bit younger than me and certainly more fashion conscious). All-in-all not really worth mentioning but I only did this to reinforce just how amazing our stay was!

The quiet village location is superb and this is clearly a popular local inn, thought not in the least noisy. I enjoyed an excellent pint later on in the evening, just before the bar closed. The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable and I would be pleased to stay again if in the area. The staff I met were obliging and friendly.

The room I was shown to initially was completely unsuitable: gloomy, no outlook and with no openable windows. However, when I pointed this out I was immediately shown to a much better room which was very comfortable. However, small things such as a place to put the soap in the shower, a toilet roll holder, a shelf in the bathroom and some nets at the window so that you don't need to keep the curtains shut, would make all the difference.

As it was out of season the pub itself was closed, so breakfast was unavailable, although we were offered drinks from the bar if required. We were visiting friends nearby so it wasn't an issue. The location is very peaceful with countryside views. Steph the host was very friendly.

The only issue we had was that we couldn't get the TV to work but as we were only there for one night it wasn't a great problem.

Lovely to be looked after by Steph and Mark - thank you! This is a no frills pub with a fire, good beer and friendly helpful staff. Really enjoyed the pool table and the walk out to a nearby Bluebell wood with our dog which was helpfully recommended to us by Steph. The rooms were clean and functional and Steph was able to accommodate our request in having rooms nearby to one another. Breakfast was good - perfect fried egg….and it was kind of Steph to let us stay on a bit longer in the morning. Thank you!

A beautiful location, a very friendly and accommodating reception by the landlord and staff and throughout our stay. Evening menu was simple but food was very tasty and good value and full english breakfast, delicious and plenty of it! We really could not have asked for better care and treatment or a more enjoyable short break.

Really difficult to think of anything that detracted from our time at the Plough. The only minor negative was that the towel rail in our bathroom, wasn't warm (so didn't help to dry the towels after use) but maybe that was because central heating wasn't in operation - weather still quite warm!

It was historic and a good location for breaking our trip during our tour. The staff were extremely pleasant and willing to go the extra mile. Facilities were all we needed for a single night’s stay. We felt welcome in this homely Inn. Parking was plentiful and convenient.

Nothing. All was as expected from the listing.

Very friendly and helpful staff. They did everything to make our stay perfect! Full English breakfast was fine and dinner was also good. The pub had large selection of beers. Rooms were also good and cool. Location is very nice and quiet. Dinner was not available on Sunday (restaurant is closed) and we didn’t expect that; fortunately, a dinner for us was arranged!

The accommodation is pet friendly and that could be a problem for people who are allergic to dogs or cats. Dinner was not available on Sunday and we didn’t expect that because on the internet site of The Plough Inn it says that food is available 7 days a week.

My father and I were attending a cattle sale in Hereford and this was a perfect location! We arrived at about 8:30pm and were just able to order dinner, 2 steaks, which were delicious - we didn’t manage to get a photo we ate it that quick! The bar was open until quite late which was great to have a relaxing drink in if you were a bit later arriving and it was nice to see locals in the bar. The room we stayed in was fantastic and included a double bed and single bed which were both very comfortable and a good nights sleep was had! There was also tea/coffee making facilities in the room, a TV and an ensuite bathroom with a shower. We also had breakfast before we checked out the next day and it was great. A full English, toast and a choice of cereals were on offer and we really enjoyed it. This was a fantastic place to stay and if we were up that way again we’d definitely be back - would highly recommend to anyone!

We didn’t enquire about meals so ate with family who live in Hereford. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Loved walking from the accommodation along lanes and footpaths and round a local wood. Great outlook from window - across fields. Liked easy access to room without going through the bar

Nil to dislike. Perhaps more obvious signage If food available to purchase

Rural village setting. Classic old pub. Dog and child friendly. Peaceful location. Easy access to and from Hereford. Staff very welcoming and friendly.

Menu choice is limited inevitably as it is a small low footfall country pub but more than adequate giving circumstances. Anyone with consideration will understand.
