The scenery was breathtaking, beautiful countryside walks. Super comfortable bed with crisp white linen and a luxurious bath to soak in, not forgetting a really good shower too . Great breakfast, cereals, croissants and granary bread with farm fresh butter, preserves and milk and quality coffee. Jenny is a lovely host, and very informative about the area and has created a really homely atmosphere within this beautiful cottage along with her two very friendly dogs. Really relaxing 😌

Location was out of this world although a little hard to get to, narrow roads and high hedges. Beautiful views from every window and very peaceful even the owls seemed to lull us to sleep with a hooting lullaby. Jenny is an excellent hostess and very accommodating. Even her dogs are lovely and very well behaved. Bed comfortable and bathroom luxurious with Neal's Yard Remedies hand wash and shower gel (Geranium and Orange)

Jenny made us extremely welcome, she's a wonderful host. We loved the power shower and bath. The bed is extremely comfortable- like sleeping on a marshmallow. The nespresso coffee machine and milk frother are great. The location is fabulous-right out in the countryside but near enough to Hungerford town centre should you need to go.

The WiFi is hit and miss as it stretches from the house. This is clearly mentioned in the information in the room but good to know before you go if depending on it. Being unable to take our dog was unfortunate for us alhough we understand Jenny's reasoning. Those with mobility issues may need to re-think staying in this delightful house as the bedroom is up fairly steep stairs.

Very peaceful even with the thundering rain. Everything was lovely as a solo traveller. For once I actually felt relaxed! And both the bath and bed were incredible! WiFi for me was pretty non-existent upstairs but they do specify that it is better downstairs. I will warn you that at the time I went I spent a lot of time battling with flies. I had a hand towel for swatting haha! I'm not sure why there we're so many. They seemed to come out of nowhere but maybe that has to do with being so high up in the property. I'm not sure. Overall I will definitely return!

This was a very special weekend i had been planning for a long time. The owner jenny made our stay exceed all expectations. Her communication leading up to the weekend was exceptional & she answered any questions I had promptly. On arrival to the beautiful property we were made to feel so welcome by jenny & her lovely dogs. Jenny knew this was a special weekend & went out of her way to ensure our stay was a memorable one. The room is delightful with a cosy large bed & lovely views of the countryside from both windows. The venue & location is fabulous & we can't thank jenny enough for contributing to the lasting memories we made this weekend. I can't recommend this venue highly enough!! Absolutely fantastic all round!!

Spacious, luxurious room with a very comfortable bed. Bed linen felt so soft and relaxing. I had a great night sleep. Well catered for in every way. Gorgeous views over the countryside. Jenny (the host) is very welcoming and helpful. Her dogs are lovely too and like to show you around. I would definitely return as would have liked to have stayed longer. I have no hesitation in recommending this place.

Nothing. For me it was perfect.

This is a beautiful and big attic room in a lovely house in an idyllic setting. Super comfy bed and gorgeous claw foot bath with a Velux window over it so you can lie in the bath and look at the sky! Separate big shower as well. Jenny is a lovely host and went out of her way to accommodate my need to get some work done. Breakfast of cereal, yogurt and toast is provided in your room along with lots of tea and coffee. There is a kettle, toaster and small fridge in the kitchenette. Several pubs nearby for dinner - Five Bells in Wickham is about a 30 minute walk away and I enjoyed a lovely dinner there. Jenny’s garden is stunning! Thanks for a lovely stay

Jenny was most helpful and our one night stay was really comfortable. We had a spacious room with kithenette and a good sized bathroom. Everything was spotlessly clean. The continental breakfast included a good selection and was more than enough for our needs. Will be happy to stay again.

We liked the peaceful location also the fact that it was near useful facilities such as a fuel station and choice of restaurants. Our hostess was very helpful with finding an eating place.

Maybe a clearer explanation of the access to the first floor room especially for someone slightly disabled would be helpful.

We were welcomed by our lovely host Jenny, who made us feel at home immediately on arrival. Our room was very spacious and had spectacular, dual aspect, unspoilt views of the countryside. This is a good central location for visiting tourist locations including Oxford, Bath and the Cotswolds. We would highly recommend a stay at Thatched Cottage.
