The hotel was spotlessly clean, modern & had everything we needed for our stay. We got a window room with beautiful views of the gardens & surrounding hills. It was very quiet.. no noise from the road or other guests. I’d definitely go back! The hotel restaurant was immaculate & Dominica’s staff were excellent.. very attentive, friendly & professional. The food was amazing!! Couldn’t fault a thing! Thank you for an awesome stay!

Alexander’s the restaurant just off the hotel… this sells ‘pub grub’ but lower standard pub grub. We weren’t impressed. The staff were lovely but only two staff running front of house.. we didn’t finish our meals.

Drunk member of the late night bar staff let it down, finding things that weren't really that funny extremely funny - I'd strongly suggest randomly drug and alcohol testing your staff!

Lovely location, excellent attention to detail and attractive modern design. Good breakfast / hotel restaurant plus adjacent bar/restaurant. Comfortable bed, and decent shower-power.

Crucial to avoid getting rooms 154 through 161 (and maybe 162). All have a strong smell of damp in them (probably due to the wall being built against the hill behind). I tried 2 of the rooms - same problem and I had to sleep overnight in one of them (hotel full). The smell doesn't go away and you don't get used to it - even with window open. Got moved up to second floor (254 to 261) after 1 night and the difference was immediate. No smell, great sleep.

The bed was very comfy, and the room was very comfortable and clean. All the food was great, in Alexander's and the Greenhouse Restaurant. Staff in the hotel were very friendly but not OTT. Lovely grounds and nice pool

The only thing that let it down was the service in Alexander's wasn't great, it felt like they didn't want us to be there and we were forgotten about when it came to dessert. We were also kept waiting for quite a while for dessert menu's in the Greenhouse Restaurant which was a little frustrating.

Hotel location and grounds were fantastic. Lovely views and out the way of the main town. Had a very quiet room out the way that looked onto the forest with a very comfortable bed. Me and my partner both slept very well. We both used the pool facilities on site and were happy with it.

Room was lovely however, felt a little corporate for a couples holiday. Breakfast was only ok, we had cold coffee brought first morning we stayed with only some of the breakfast options meeting our expectations. Second breakfast was much better :) We dined first night in the restaurant and whilst we both enjoyed our starters, our mains felt lackluster expecially for the the price. We have stayed in BW hotels before and had much better food experiences for alot chaper.

I LOVED my stay at the Castle Hotel - the staff could not do enough for me! I was there to run an Ultra Marathon, which I explained on booking. When I got to my room, they'd left me some Kendal mint cake and a good luck card. After the marathon, the reception staff carried my suitcase to my room, as I was feeling a bit broken. My taxi was late and one of the maintenance staff offered to drive me to the start line if the taxi didn't arrive. The food was exceptional, and every single member of staff I encountered went out of their way to chat and be friendly. I can't wait to go back!

We thought it was included so we’re disappointed to be told we needed to pay extra for it. The food was lovely but we only wanted a minimal breakfast so felt it was expensive. We would have like to have purchased a continental breakfast to enable us to eat toast, fruit and cereal. We felt it could have been organised better. I felt they were short staffed and the staff were spread quite thinly.

More staff. Organised better. Someone checking people in for breakfast and payments if needed and someone else taking breakfast orders. Choice of continental breakfast.

Staff were amazing! Kelly, on the bar was hilarious, so personable and friendly - a bit cheeky too, which everyone bounced off. She was brilliant. Young chap, big blonde hair was great too - I was drinking alone in the bar and had a chap come over and talk to me - the young guy discreetly checked everything was OK, which it absolutely was, but I thought that so so observant of him and just astounded me how my safety was a natural concern. Just brilliant. The staff couldn't do enough for you. At breakfast, I really wanted a table by the window which they were delighted to clean down and relay for me (so I could watch the birds), cleaners and receptionists, all just so friendly and accommodating. I would love to return here and definitely recommend. The grounds are gorgeous. My room was pristine and beautifully designed. Everything was absolutely perfect. Breakfast and meals were delicious, everything perfectly cooked.

There was nothing I didn't like. I spent £220 for two nights and it was worth every penny.

The location of the hotel is out of town but for us worked well as we drove to the hikes we did. over the long weekend we stayed. We had a suite and the room was lovely, and very large, bed was super comfortable, the bath was delightful. The food is absolutely delicious, we had room service which normally is a watered-down menu but not here... and it did not disappoint. We also ate in the main restaurant on the same night they were hosting a huge event. The service and food however were incredible they clearly know what they were doing. The staff throughout our stay were all very happy, and helpful and you really did get the impression they enjoyed what they do.... not an easy task in a hotel this size. The hotel also has an ev charger which we use without any issues and was actually one of the main reasons i booked.

The only thing that was a little disappointing was the pool and spa area, it was clean but small and doesn't really suit the test of the hotel. i know it would take a huge investment but the views here would lend themselves to a fabulous spa.
