We stayed for 4 days. Breakfast was excellent—good value for money. We had a mad time. There was some building work going on. The lock on our room stopped working and we had to get let into our room. The hotel fire alarm went off at one stage at 2:00 in the morning. Everyone was very friendly and light-hearted. The location is excellent. Hard to get closer than this. 1-minute walk to the Beatles tour bus, and 3 minutes to the shops (Liverpool 1). There's a Tesco 30 seconds away. 3 minutes to the Albert docks. Great fun holiday - even though it was a bit mad. And we got to see the football too on the big screen in the bar. The soundproofing in the rooms is pretty good. You also have air-conditioning so you can shut the windows if it gets too noisy outside. I would stay again.

Car park is a bit manic. It would be better if cheaper. On the last day, I had to pay for breakfast and 4 days car parking. So 64 Pound after breakfast. nearly gave me indigestion :-)

Fantastic location and an amazing view from our spacious room over the Albert Dock. The reception area was modern, and the air conditioning was very welcoming after walking around in the heat. We also loved the fact that we could take meals bought at the hotel up to our room.

The car park bill of £30 I had to pay at the end of our short visit. I was under the impression that parking was on a 'first come first served' basis, and if parking wasn't available, THEN the hotel would provide parking at a nearby car park at the daily rate of £10 per day. I thought I was in luck when I managed to find the last parking space at the hotel, but I was told when checking in that there was still £10 per day to pay to the hotel. This is the first time I've had to pay for parking at any place I've stayed in. Most of the staff were lovely and very accommodating. However, there were one or two who I never saw smile yet in the 3 days we were there, even when being served by them.

The room is spacious enough, and clean, with lots of plugs, and a blackout curtain. They stored our luggage after the check-out for free. Some minor noise when people come through the hallway of the rooms, but at night you can't hear noise from outside. We looked for a place far from the pubs' noise, but still in walking distance from them, and the city centre in general. Great location.

They don't have conditioner, hair, hand towels—and very few coffee sachets (the Ibis in Nottingham had more than one per person daily). Two of the staff ladies weren't that friendly. Nothing too bad, just some details I wish they were different.

The staff were great. One guy was particularly conscientious regarding breakfast as my wife is gluten/dairy free. He gave her gluten free bread free of charge. We liked the air con, the bed, the location and the shower.

We asked for a room with a view of Albert dock(which we appreciate is not always possible) but were put in a room(147) literally next to a building site which started up at 730am. The shower door had a gap so large the water ended up all over the bathroom floor. This is forgivable though as the shower pressure/volume/heat was the best I’ve ever experienced.

Breakfast very good ,plenty to choose from ,sandwiches etc at lunchtime promptly made and fresh ,service good ,staff very helpful and well trained ,friendly also .Room as expected ,bed comfy ,lounge /dining area functional ,missed some comfy couches to sit on in tv area and maybe elsewhere though maybe space is an issue here .Location brilliant ,perfect for seeing the city and easy to walk over to eat out and access attractions

I would have liked a few comfy couches to sit on in lounge /dining area .Possibly the downstairs area could be remodelled in order to make it more comfortable .Didn't eat in evning but food coming out of kitchen looked freshly made and tasty .

Arrived much earlier than the usual checking in time due to train disruptions (strike action) however we were told that our room was ready and we were able to check in, this was great news and a great start to our stay! The corridors were clean and had a very nice scent and very well maintained. The room was very clean and tidy with fresh towels, additional pillows and also a kettle with complementary tea and coffee was also provided! We stayed on a weekday during half term, so there were mainly other families and older guests, so noise was not an issue during our stay. The location was perfect for our needs, with just a short walk to local shops, attractions and the City Centre. The breakfast was good with a variety of options, (The best Hashbrowns) my only niggle was that there were no mushrooms or vegetarian sausages, however there was still a good selection for vegetarians/vegans and also a variety of cow milk alternatives. The star of the show was the staff, they were all friendly and very welcoming especially Fabian, he was very friendly and approachable and went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was a memorable experience, providing us with great customer service from the start until the moment we left, thank you Fabian! On the whole it was a great stay, do not hesitate to book you will not be disappointed.

The hotel was in a good location, only a short walk to the city centre and across the road from the Docklands area. It was nice to be offered a free drink from the bar which was included in our stay. There is a car park at the front of the hotel which was a bonus and outside seating area. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

The room itself was very basic and not the best. We were only staying for one night therefore I didn't ask for an upgrade. If I was booking a longer break I would want to stay in better accommodation.

The hotel is in a great location and has its own car park. It's just a few minutes' walk from the Albert Dock and the main shopping and attractions also. The staff are super friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them.

The room we were in had a very poor layout. There was a large alcove by the door, which was empty, but the wardrobe unit was crammed in by the bed, making it very difficult for even an average sized person like myself to get around the bedroom. The bathroom had no shelving and just one hook. This meant you had to put your washbag and fresh clothes on the side of the sink (which is usually wet). Our towels were still damp hours later. The other problem was a lack of welcome pack. Although there was a photocopy of a lunch menu, there was nothing about breakfast. There wasn't a phone in the room, just a message to WhatsApp if we needed any information. Not everyone has a mobile, whatsapp, or is tech savvy.

Location for our needs

Boy on reception miserable and rude, tried to charge us over £300 more even though we showed him our booking. com booking, and then just walked off, fortunately lady that appeared was very pleasant and helpful in resolving problem with a smile and without issue, man on bar also miserable and didn’t even actually speak when serving us just didn’t seem to want to be there ! Chips and half full drink glasses left in the lift dispute being on full view to staff and security staff, half empty glasses and food on floor and splashed up walls left along corridors none of which spoilt our trip for the short time we were in the hotel, we chose to eat elsewhere for breakfast and evening meals, a shame as not what we’ve previously experienced with Ibis hotels
