The Paddington area is very busy, but this hotel is on a quieter side-street and away from the road which does help. I assume through its age it wasn't possible to fit double glazing but I slept fairly well. A fairly no frills hotel in easy walking distance from the Station.

The introduction to the hotel didn't include details of where the breakfast was being served. As such and because there is no dining room visible, I assumed there wasn't any. Only as I was departing did I spot a small note on the empty reception desk, saying it was upstairs, by which time it was too late to partake.

The location is excellent, being a stone's throw away from Paddington Station and hence, easy access to Heathrow Express. The room was clean and bed comfortable.

We had to carry our luggage up six flights of stairs as the lift was not working.

The only downside of the room was a lack of surface areas to put luggage etc - there was a small wardrobe but not enough space to put all out travelling stuff. But apart from that, it was a good hotel which did what it said on the tin

Bright, clean room, spacious bathroom, friendly staff, close to shops and halal food restaurants. (Halal kfc, subway and even fish n chips). Very close to Paddington station (Heathrow express n Elizabeth line). Thank goodness for the lift because we have lots of big luggage. We are a family of 5, we were grateful to find a room with 5 beds at last minute because we were scammed when we arrived in London after a long trip around Europe. The room was beyond our expectations. One of us had a later flight, the hotel allowed her to check out a bit later and even keep her luggage after checking out, so that she can explore London more. We would definitely book here again on our future trip to London. Recommended!

Everything was great! Our family really liked staying at the Athena hotel. The room is not big, but just enough for us and cozy. And it's wonderful that we could all be in the same room. It is not easy to find a common room for five people. The location is great and it was easy to go on adventures around London. The breakfast was delicious and the staff was friendly. We were also able to store our luggage at the hotel for free on the day of departure, so we were still able to explore the city before our flight. We will definitely come again!

Real value for money, and a really good location. Friendly and flexible staff. Clean rooms, no issue with check-in and check-out. This was my second booking with them, still the best hotel in the area and its category. I came by car and find extremely unfriendly to pay extra cost for parking considering already paid for the night should be included in the price, however, I looked at parking prices in the area and changed my opinion, especially when we checked out, the owner offered us a couple of more hours parking. Highly recommend.

Probably, noise is the only issue. Can hear the traffic and sometimes the other rooms. Other than that no problem really.

Great location, super clean room & friendly staff. Just 5 min walk from Paddington station, 12 mins walk to Hyde Park, just walk away from eateries, convenient shops & cafes. Room is cleaned every day (thumbs up to the housekeeping team for a good job), friendly & accommodative staff (special thanks to Hadi for the free breakfast & tips about good place to visit and the lady & guy staff for allowing us to store our luggages early before check in). In short, everything is good for our stay and highly recommended for those who are looking for a convenient stay at centre of London.

Room was very clean and quiet, reception was good, easy check in and located in a good place with shops such as superdrug, tesco, boots and starbucks all within walking range and many takeaways and restaurants just around the corner. The heater wasnt working in our room but we were given a plug in heater which warmed the room up very well. We were able to leave our luggage with the reception after check out until we wanted to leave for the bus station. Wifi was working fine.

Check out time was not flexible. We had to check out at 11am but our bus was due to leave at 5pm and we didnt really have anything left to do other than walk around for 5 hours.. The toilets are alittle too high and was uncomfortable to use (i am 5'6 and my the tip of my toes were barely touching the ground lol) Windows dont close firmly so cold air comes in.

I met 4 members of staff during my stay as I dropped my bag early then checked in late then as I left my bag again this morning and retired to collect before making the journey home. Every single one was so polite and helpful. It makes a huge difference when people are helpful like that. A real credit. The room was lovely and clean especially that bathroom. I booked a double but was in a room with a double and 2 singles so spacious too. Bed was confy and linen great. The room was quiet considering the convenient location.

Nothing I didn't like and wasn't a huge problem but will make you aware in case it's a fault. The fan in the bathroom didn't seem to ever stop. I would expect it to go off at somepoint after the light is switched off but it seemed to stay on all evening. Not a huge issue but just incase you want to check.

The staff were very friendly and very accommodating to all our requests. They gave great advice on London and when we forgot something at the hotel, they went out of their way to send it to us at our next stop. I would highly recommended the Athena for a family on a short stay in London. Not just for location and budget but expecially the warm welcome and helpfulness you receive.

Honesty nothing to improve on. There are different configurations of family rooms. Some are a little smaller than pictures indicate. It was not a huge problem really, just an expectation not quite met. However, the room was very comfortable with a nice view of the tree lined grand Georgian terrace of Sussex Gardens.
