The location is unbeatable, within walking distance of a wide variety of activities (museums, sightseeing, shopping, theatres...) and with a wide range of transport options on the doorstep. This was my third stay at the hotel - the first, was some years ago when it was the Amba, this was the second year running as the Clermont. I asked for the same room if possible and was very pleased to get it. The Studio room is very spacious, the bathroom well laid out, the bed very comfortable. Having a sofabed so I can put up friends for the night is a great plus and the free mini-bar is a nice extra. The great view is another bonus. Service is consistently good in all departments. The restaurant is a beautiful setting, the breakfast buffet is very good and the food in the restaurant is good too, although the menu could do with some variation - it was exactly the same as last year.

The only problem is that if you're on the Trafalgar Square/Charing Cross side of the hotel,there's quite a lot of noise from the street, particularly from buskers so loudly amplified that the double glazed windows don't block the sound. This can go on until late at night, which is quite annoying, and unfortunately the hotel can't do anything about it (ruling from the local authority). Rooms on the other side of the hotel will be quieter, but if you want the view, you have to put up with the noise.

Room was spacious, quiet, and clean. The location was fantastic and in walking distance of Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square, Covent Garden, Soho & Theatre District, etc . Dinner before a show at the hotel restaurant was delicious and the view of the Strand was amazing! We will definitely stay here again.

The people at reception and the concierge were all so professional, helpful and nice. Housekeeping kept my room spotless and as neat as a pin. I had a small refrigerator in my room and it was stocked daily with bottles of water, soda and snacks. Breakfast was included in my room rate so I asked room service bring it early every morning so I could get a jump on the day. The location was perfect to see all the major sights in London either by walking or by taking the Charing Cross or Embankment underground. I will definitely recommend this place!

The hotel is beautiful and is centrally located. It's right near two train stations, which is perfect for sight seeing. Staff was attentive. They held our luggage and brought it directly to our room before we were able to check in. Every morning if you requested a wake up call, they followed up by knocking on your room door. That was a nice touch! Very nice amenities such as robe, slippers and beautiful toiletries.

The room was located in the 2nd building so it required taking two elevators. Not easy with luggage. It was not near the front desk at all and we booked it 6 months in advance. I was wondering if you book on line through Expedia or Booking.com, if they give you the rooms furthest from the front desk. The air conditioner was very weak. Lighting was not the best, two lamps in our room were out.

Location superb on The Strand close to Trafalgar Square and Theatres , Covent Garden Leicester Square , Piccadilly , and Whitehall Parliament Downing Street The Eye Buckingham Palace The Mall etc all in easy walking distance. Good food nicely appointed rooms and easy access to the Underground and mainline stations

The room was beautiful, spacious and cosy, with a great view of the city, on request for my sisters birthday a slice of cake and balloons were in the room as a lovely surprise for her, the location is great and the staff are wonderful and made our stay the best experience, their attention to detail is fantastic and we felt very valued and happy throughout our stay.

The only downside was that the lifts were a little old and slow and only one of them was functioning efficiently during the weekend so we had to take the staircase which was fine, but during days we had luggage it was a bit more challenging but other than that I cannot fault the hotel at all, I love staying here.

bars and communal areas have been refurbished and are beautiful. our bathroom seemed newly refurbished too. the staff are excellent. they knew it was my husbands birthday and left us cake, cava and a lovely little note with two free drink tokens at the bar. very kind

the room and hallways leading to it (6th floor) were run down and really could do with a refurb. for example broken plaster/paint everywhere and the headboard was all broken in our room, it looked like years of wear and tear (still clean! but need of tlc)

Extremely good location, fantastic service and super clean. Friendly staff, comfy beds and reasonably quiet at night.

We had 2 days worth of breakfast and unfortunately, the second day was busy and we were seated in a separate dining room. The plates were cold which made for a dissappintlingly cold breakfast. It was a shame as the first breakfast we had was beautiful. Also there was little to no service in the 2nd dining room. The first day we had a waitress take or tea and coffee orders, the second day it was self service from a canteen flask. I found this to be inconsistent considering the £25pp price tag. This didn't put me off, I would absolutely stay here again. Just something to be noted.

Great location, good sized room, comfy bed and spacious shower. Nice & clean too. Breakfast was varied, well cooked and presented nicely. Warm welcome from reception staff & lovely touches for my birthday. Whilst the room decor and corridors are pleasant but not remarkable, the other areas of the hotel are beautiful. The reception staff and other staff we came into contact with were professional & friendly with just a couple of exceptions. Overall this hotel is well run & I would definitely recommend it, having stayed a a wide variety of other properties in London over the years, both whilst working & for pleasure.
