The room was lovely, nice big bed, big tv, sofa and table in a nice spaced out area, big window. Kettle, iron, ironing board, hairdryer The shower was lovely once i realised i had to press a button to get some power in it. The staff were really friendly and helpful. It was £17 for an uber into Nottingham at 11:30pm and £22 back at 2am

Breakfast was £16 on the day or £12 in advance. We forgot to book it so went on the morning and was told it was £16 unless we paid for both days we can have it for £12 each. Either way it was expensive. People had to ask for items often. Glasses, mugs, food. One man asked for bread and they told him it would be 10 minutes to defrost. You only get given half a toilet roll if that so myself and a friend in another room had to ask for another. There was a smell through the corridor, it made my friend sick. It smelt like there was a swimming pool/chlorine/bleach. It didn't bother me so much but was very strong for my friend.

Everything went very smoothly. We arrived early, and that wasn't a problem, which helped us very much. Clean rooms, and lovely and quiet. Smashing breakfast, great choice. Many thanks!

I've checked, and everything I'm saying, my sister in law, who stayed in another room, agrees with me. The following would be good improvements: all in shower room - an extractor fan; heated towel rail, particularly if two people sharing; magnifying mirror to be lower, I'm fairly tall, but found it unusable, and my sister in law is smaller than me, so was unusable for her too.

Despite looking dated from the outside, it was in great condition inside. The staff were very welcoming and the whole place was clean and tidy. Breakfast was very enjoyable and there were no issues with seating, even on busier days. A convenient location too, just off the M1, but still quiet.

The building was dated, as was the TV in the room, although it worked without too many niggles. Every day we went for breakfast items had ran out. Breakfast wasn't too busy on the Friday morning, but Saturday and Sunday was. Space wasn't an issue, but you had to wait for certain items to be replenished before getting to enjoy what was a tasty and varied breakfast.

All the team members were very friendly, welcoming and more than helpful on all 3 days. The food for both dinner and breakfast was excellent and gave plenty of choice. The room was clean and tidy

A little lack of communication when we arrived. Was booked in quickly and efficiently but once we were handed our room keys that was it. No directions to where the rooms were or anything regarding dinner plans etc (not being told we had to book a table)

On check in, the receptionist was 'en point'. She was welcoming and made feel at ease after a long journey. Nothing was too much trouble. Any questions we had, even ones not relating to the hotel, she endeavoured to help with the answers! She's a real asset to the hotel.

I was surprised by the difference when we went to the bar. A very smart suited person served us. He was very regimented in his approach and made me feel awkward. There was no polite chit chat. He obviously wanted to ask my son for his ID, but waited until after he had poured the drink. He needs to relax and learn to have some 'banter' with the guests. I'm only saying this as I used to train food and beverage staff within 4 and 5 star hotels.

Easy access from motorway which is only a short distance away. However, we were not disturbed by traffic noise. Excellent self-service breakfast with good selection of cooked items which were replenished throughout serving time. Plenty of parking space.

Hotel is beginning to feel a little tired and needs a fresh pair of eyes to review decor - eg pictures in breakfast area appeared to have been grabbed and plonked in position rather than considered. Smokers congregate around entrance meaning guests have to pass through a smoky atmosphere on entering and leaving the hotel.

Arrived at checkin no staff there and no one around found a staff member that was on there lunch and had to advise them there was a q of guest trying to check in the poor staff member left his lunch to come check the guest in. A good 15 minutes we waited before distributing him. Only for then one of his colleagues to come along a good 10mins after the boy had to be disturbed

From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. All staff were amazing, so polite & so helpful, Kieran on reception was especially kind & helpful. He helped me order food on tablet which was a bit tricky. Thank you so much Kieran. Your an absolute credit to your company, they should be so very proud of you. 5 Stars all round Holiday Inn Derby Risley.🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Very convenient location for access to the M1. Comfortable and clean accommodation and easy parking.Helpful and friendly staff. Good value breakfast included in price on booking.

Noisy group of guests drinking outside reception area until after 1.00am.made it difficult to sleep. Night staff should have asked them to move inside as they were disturbing other guests,

Bathroom vent didn’t work Couldn’t turn down thermostat in the room, too warm. We didn’t report this to reception as we weren’t in the room for long. Leak above an internal door in corridor. Very springy, soft mattress. Not to personal preference. Very tight bathroom configuration.
