Lovely, quirky hotel, with good amenities, central location, pleasant staff. Nice bar and excellent car valet service. Excellent security, i.e. needed room key to get onto floor. Breakfast, bar staff and hotel staff were lovely and very helpful.

The breakfast was good, but not value for money. The bed was comfortable, but sloped at one side, so one of us felt like they were falling out of bed. Very noisy, bin wagons and workmen at very early time which kept us awake. Extortionate and unexpected charges (e.g. discretionary accommodation service charge) and service charges for breakfast, bar, etc, which accumulated to around £20. These were mandatory and should be left to the customer to add (in case service is not up to scratch)

It was impeccable. The service, the staff, the food, the drinks, the room. We loved the 20's Gatsby era theme running throughout right down to the lobby staff who were extremely welcoming and helpful on arrival. We had a table booked at Grand Pacific and arrived slightly later than planned at the hotel so we didn't have time to check in and asked if we could leave our bags in the lobby until we returned. They had already been placed in our room when we got back. A nice touch! The room was incredible and the bathroom was just out of this world. We loved all the unique monogrammed items, right down to the wash basin in the bathroom. We also attended the roof top bar and the views and service was great! In the evening we attended the Gatsby evening in the Gilt Lounge and I can't even begin to say how fabulous it was! It was our first experience at the Gotham and it definitely will not be our last. My favourite Manchester hotel! Thank you!

Just wish we could have stayed longer!

So we have stayed here before and we were that impressed we had to return. It didn’t disappoint on the second visit. This place has that touch of class about it. From the front door welcome to the booking in experience through to the bar and breakfast staff. Every member of the Gotham team brings something special. It’s also in a great location as we had a meal booked at Six By Nico and concert tickets at the AO Arena, both within walking distance. If you have not been you have to check out this hotel, we will definitely be returning a third time.

The staff at this hotel are simply fantastic. from the minute we arrived we were treated like VIPs and everyone staying in the hotel we treated as such. the rooms were really comfy and had a lovely fridge/ liquor cupboard. Also excellent tea and biscuits in the room.

the bed was quite a small double which wasn’t great for us as we have a king size at home but I booked the room and with hindsight I should have booked a bigger room but not a complaint. If I could give one bit of feedback would be that you need to up your breakfast game as not much choice really and was a little average in my opinion. That being said the hotel really is top notch and I hope to return soon

The hotel was incredibly expansive, bright and extremely professional, with the staff always willing to help with luggage or any queries. The room was clean, well-sized and comfortable, with a nice array of treats and furnishings to make the stay feel good value for money. The shower and bathroom facilities were also of a high standard. It was also a fantastic breakfast service with a varied and delicious selection. The hotel bar was also stylish and excellent for relaxing in during the evening.

The only complaint was that the hotel bar did take a while to serve me but only a minor complaint to a terrific stay.

The location of the hotel is great, very central.

We informed the hotel prior to our arrival and upon arrival that we were frequent guests. When we arrived, the receptionist checking us in asked if we were staying for any special occasion, we said yes, that we were celebrating our engagement and she didn’t really acknowledge this. I feel it would have been nice to have been offered something to celebrate this, and given the fact we have previously stayed in the hotel numerous times, I feel it would have been nice to be recognised for our loyalty. It may be something small but it would have made a big difference to us.

location couldn’t be better for anything and everything (China Town, Deansgate, Spinningfields etc) concierge staff very helpful & dapper gents reception a joy to deal with the shower is an experience of itself, really fantastic !!! secure access to each floor using key card price was very decent quiet room allocated on request without doubt No.1 in Manchester, this hotel could hold its own in London

thick heavy winter duvet not ideal in hot months, fab in winter though 11am check out seems an unnecessary rule in room dining menu options very limited

The decor and quirky furnishings, the minibar with proper crystal glasses, the White Company toiletries, the rooftop bar and restaurant / the views, the quality of everything, the fabulous staff, (all the ones that we met), the petit fours and Happy Anniversary piped in chocolate, (it was our 24th wedding anniversary)/ card , the breakfast cooked to order, (excellent), the lunch, the cocktails The most amazing hotel that we have ever stayed in, fully deserving of it's 5 stars. No pretensions, just absolute luxury, quality, and fabulous staff. Can't wait to return! Thank you for making our stay so special!

There was nothing at all to dislike!

Hotel was spectacular, right within walking distance to everything you would like to do! Staff were fantastic nothing was too much trouble, bed was so comfy! Room was amazing, the bathroom was bigger than some hotel rooms we have stayed in!

If i had to pick on something there is a slight musty smell in corridors, it could be insence? but it is an old hotel and can't smell it in the room, I didn't like that you can't open the windows in the room even slightly, i unserstand for safety, no big deal though as the air con in room worked very well.

Staff was very friendly! Cute bar on the basement floor very cosy speak-easy vibe, very much my type of thing. Whole hotel in keeping with the theme and sophisticated but not obnoxious and pretentious. Will stay again!

Very picky point but not at all dampen things. We just got a little lost looking for the bar after being told where it was (just weren’t told it was hidden behind a mirror on the ground floor) Though it did add an element of fun to it, so if that’s what they were going for then very well achieved and this is more of a positive note!
